There was one in my hometown, not sure if a hemi, but it was a Daytona. The car never saw its first birthday, the 18 year old driver never saw his 19th. Went head on, dead centre into a light pole in a mall parking lot. Very sad. Every time I see one of these wing cars the newspaper picture of the front end of the Daytona folded around the pole flashes back. Rip. I remember this as it is my own way to memorialize that driver. Beautiful car, you were lucky to have taken it for a spin. 👍. Thanks for posting the video.

The way they scraped the paint off the firewall, is just like what art restorers do to great works of art, it's pretty amazing the time and effort put in to preserve this car for future generations. Thank you

I’ve only seen a few of these winged cars in my life, and I believe they all had the 440. The 440 six pack is pretty hot too, but a Hemi is in a class by itself!! Thanks again Lou! I had one. A 440 auto,4:10 rear end.. Traction bars black on black, coupe window and super slicks, Loved it. Babies came and it was gone.only 41 built and shipped.

Great video Lou love watching your channel I have never had the opportunity to see a Daytona Charger or Superbird in person only seen them in videos. Makes me wonder how many Daytona's were automatics and how many had 4 speed manual.
You did again showing a Mopar. Got me wishing I still had my Hemi. If you got rid of the wing and darkened the green and taken the Hemi badge off the door, then it could have been mine. Great job. One day I'll have to find a few photos of mine and get them to you.
@@loucostabile No chance of that, Lou. Sold the Charger in 71 to a buddy. He was going to pull the engine and put in a 383. Just so his wife would be able to drive it around town. Needless to say to say it didn't get great mileage. If I kept my foot out of it got almost 8 MPG. Hey! who could keep the foot off the pedal. The 104 re-sized jets did some drinking, but there was no lag. I think I still have the dealer window sticker around here showing the $5002 price. Beside all that I just can't drive any longer. Need to watch you and others who keep guys like me remembering.

Love the originality (green engine compartment that used to be black !?!) and while getting on it too much isn't cool at least you guys didn't stand on it for a smokey burn out like so many meat head vids I've seen. Gotten to where I hate that. Just enough 'fun' !! Freakin' 'chirp' to second spoke for it self. btw, nothing like the sound of solid lifters !!! Great vid, Lou !

I painted my '66 Dodge Charger this same shade of green with black highlhights and black pinstriping way back in the day. They called it "Brite Green Poly" back then.....

From the front view - if I were to see this on the road, up close in my rear-view., I could easily infer that this car is saying. "Dude - I mean business. If I pass around you, if you challenge me, you WILL lose. Just sit there and be impressed." And as I would see the rear end of the car as it passes around me, I could infer the car as saying, "That's right - I rawk! Have a good day."

Now see, if it were me, being of twisted humor and all, I would "rig" an interview with a car owner I knew well. Then it would be "open the damn hood already" and "you call that giving me revs, FLOOR IT SUCKER!" and the like. Wake up the viewers. tee hee hee. 😝 For added effect, you could wear a black leather jacket and work the East Coast tuff guy accent.

From the front view - if I were to see this on the road, up close in my rear-view., I could easily infer that this car is saying. "Dude - I mean business. If I pass around you, if you challenge me, you WILL lose. Just sit there and be impressed." And as I would see the rear end of the car as it passes around me, I could infer the car as saying, "That's right - I rawk! Have a good day."

Then it would be "open the damn hood already" and "you call that giving me revs, FLOOR IT SUCKER!" and the like. Wake up the viewers. tee hee hee. 😝 For added effect, you could wear a black leather jacket and work the East Coast tuff guy accent.
