All very valid points in this video, my Si is actually boosted when this video was shot I’m actually on BC’s but not BC Racing but Buddy Club Sport Specs which ride really nice, the wheels are Mugen GP’s, 18x7.5, +48 with a 5mm spacer The SPC Camber arms are one of them best mods, had them since 2016 and haven’t had any noise or issues getting the car in to alignment till this day

Yes, the video IVE BEEN WAITING FOR. I’d say start with checking the vtec solenoid, vtc oil sensor and pcv valve. Get ALL Honda oem parts. These 3 things affect the “stock drivability”over all. Also go ahead and save up for a new clutch because you WILL need it especially if your car has a lot of miles. As far as performance goes, you can boost stock no problem but once you start uping the boost, you will need to bullet proof the trans. I have all acuity parts, K tuner or Hondata DOES NOT MATTER. WHAT MATTERS IS THE TUNER💯💯💯 P.s, I have a 2012 Honda civic si(fg4)(pre-facelift) with the 18in Honda factory performance wheels form the hfp edition.
i heard that hondata has some more peramaters for tuners to work with, but i'd love to know if it really doesnt matter cuz i'd love to save some money in that area.

Extra features and what not doesn’t hurt but if you don’t understand the car and what it’s doing. It don’t matter what you get and blow something up anyways with a bad tune or tuner. Figure out the power numbers you want, what you want from the car and go from there. It’s like the whole reps conversation. Who cares as long as you get the job done correctly and you like it.

the stock si exhaust actually sounds great and is one of the last things you should change, also the oem airbox is the 2nd best intake for this car apart from the CAI that requires you to relocate the battery, hot air intakes are gross and everyone will tell you to put the oem one back in. the only worthy mod is a catted downpipe + hondata

I have had multiple honda civic even rsx and I really love my 12 coupe si. Even tho every one says it s the worst one. It has the biggest 4 banger ever fitted in a civic and I was ahead of the 2024 si. It s nice to see that I m not alone saying that this car is a good fun car...with few mods 😅 Tks for the vid 🙏
I have a 9th gen lx coupe and is a 5 speed manual. My first manual and will never go back to automatic. Although it's not the Si, its fun enough for me until i get out of college and get something with a little more power.

Just hit 150k in my 2015 white si sedan and its FBO and yoshtuned. I can honestly say this car is super underated. Its got a damn hdmi! Lol. Never had an issue except normal maintenance and small common leaks. Love this platform!
If I’m correct, this is the last sporty car Honda ever released with a NA motor. I owned 3 8th gen Si and I 100% prefer the 9th gen. The 2015 is one the best looking Hondas ever in white. The interior is awesome and the motor pulls strong from around 3500rpm. The 8th gen Si is basically asleep until you hit 6k rpm. It’s a big difference.

I have a 2013 si 100% stock except air suspension, acuity short shifter , and hondata. Reliable very slow daily. If you’re looking for a fast car skip past this and don’t get a civic. If you’re looking for a super reliable car here it is. I’ve had my si for 2 years and (knock on wood) no issues as of yet.
I’ve driven both, im an 8th gen si fa5 owner full bolt on tuned and I’ve driven my gf 9th gen 4 door si (stock) with a muffler delete, let me tell you in terms of city driving definitely the 9th gen is the way to go because it is quicker off the light and keeps up great with traffic as where my civic even at fbo tuned u gotta rev the piss out of it to get it up to speed but once you take it to 9,000 rpm it’s a whole different beast, so it really depends on what u want at the end of the day 😊 but I don’t mind the torque in traffic with the 9th gen si ..

I have Both a 8th gen Si (Fa5) And the 9th gen Si (Fb6) and yet i still prefer the 9th over the 8th... more features and Tech, better Mpg, more Torque, interior is superbly better in every way, only thing the 8th gen has over it is the 800rpm higher redline with an exhaust vtec cam... overall th 9th gen is better in My opinion and its under appreciated

My honda lurches forward a but too, honestly I think it’s because of the drive train, with it being front wheel drive. But me personally I’m not too worried.

14 Coupe in meteor orange. Snagged it at a police auction with 40k on the clock and two owners. Its a fun little weekend bomber to take the wife out in or throw into corners on Friday after work. Super clean but for the first year I owned it it stank of dabs no matter what I did. Took a professional shampoo to finally get the odor out.
Its a good car, but tbh i regret buying one. I had an accord 2.0 before my si & to get it to make similar power i gotta spend $$. Also the trans gives issues around ~400whp. Ill be selling my fb6 & getting an accord again soon.
All of my money is going into the engine big turbo and full building the z7 see how long itll last at 500 600ISH hp build the trans hide the intercooler and put some gay ricy stickers to bait some people create good times :)
My dad owns a 9th gen and I own an 8th gen. As someone who learned in the 9th gen and bought an 8th, I love both. You can tell the 9th is a refined version with some lacking things. Shifter feel is better in the 8th, 8k rpm is definitely a more fun experience, and imo there’s a lot more cosmetically you can do with the 8th gen. For the 9th gen it’s an oem plus car that like he said is a pretty solid daily. I love both but 8th gen has my heart (my fav civic is an fd2)
You forgot to mention the 9th gen is the only civic that has and will ever come with a Honda "big block" . The 12 sedan is the most rare and funnest to drive. The 14/15 are meh , modding isn't as well received because of the front knuckles. The red seats were not everyone's favorite because of how easily they got dirty. The farbon ciber dash didn't do it for many. The " retuned" exhaust was a joke. The heavier 18" wheels made the car actually slower even with a "bump " in power. 12 and 13 sedan for fun per dollar. The coupes were so so . Both versions

I drive an orange 15 coupe and I like 225/35 rather than 215/35....thats just personal preference though.
when done right, a refreshed 9th gen sedan, can be one of the most beautiful hondas ever made. the 2 door can fart off...

For the 9th gen it’s an oem plus car that like he said is a pretty solid daily. I love both but 8th gen has my heart (my fav civic is an fd2)

You forgot to mention the 9th gen is the only civic that has and will ever come with a Honda "big block" . The 12 sedan is the most rare and funnest to drive.
The 14/15 are meh , modding isn't as well received because of the front knuckles. The red seats were not everyone's favorite because of how easily they got dirty. The farbon ciber dash didn't do it for many.
The " retuned" exhaust was a joke.
The heavier 18" wheels made the car actually slower even with a "bump " in power.
12 and 13 sedan for fun per dollar. The coupes were so so . Both versions
Only thing about 9th gens is you could spend money going fbo and tune and only gain 20-25 hp
10th gen si same parts double the hp
