Didn’t think I would be spending my Thursday morning watching two grown men play paper football. This is dumb and I love it
The perfect compliment to some Panera lunch
I literally did
This isn't dumb, it's playing.
This is the dumb.
ua-cam.com/video/EiLS2UIKeeQ/v-deo.html
Jomboy and Jake know EXACTLY what the culture needs
Jimmy is getting an extra inch every kickoff
The way Jake caught the most egregious one and Jomboy acted like it was a one off... gamesmanship at it's finest.
@@Valorous1440 He cleaned up his technique after too. Thumb behind the flat of the ball then thumb to end of the hand. Ref never caught it again.
@@judosch Ya, he cheated every time haha
You’re missing the most fun rule! If a player puts it off the table three times the opposition gets a chance at a 3 point field goal
^This. It makes kicking a much bigger part of the game.
Yes! Also the kickoff where you hang a corner off the edge of the table and flick it upward
@@wittay that's what I thought
Small request: Could the scores on the bottom match to what side of the table they are on? Side Note: The quiet as Jimmy was making the Football was oddly satisfying.
Something my friends and I do is we add a kickoff after someone scores, we put it on the edge of the table then move our hands up launch it into the air, then wherever it lands the other person starts there. But if on the kickoff you land it perfectly on the other side so that it’s normally a touchdown, it counts as a safety
I can seriously watch these guys play or watch anything. So glad I found this company!!
We played different rules growing up.
1) You only get 1 hit at a time, though I think I like 2.
2) You kick off with the football on the edge of the table (like a touchdown) and flick it to the other side.
And 3) knocking the football off the table gave the opponent a shot at a 3 point field goal attempt.
I think the third rule is a necessary difference maker.
More entertaining than 75% of the super bowls! GG boys!
They really goofed when they got Imagine Dragons to play the halftime show, though.
@ 9:00 “I’m penetrating, I’m just not scoring.” We’ve all been there bud.
Jimmy looks like a caveman on his 2nd hits. Paper Footballs flying off the table😂😂
Jake has multiple personalities. In his normal day to day life he constantly switches between "Jake" "the reliever" and "the punter"
This is the most organized yet unorganized event ever
Field goals were a thing when I played in school. But I don’t remember when you were allowed to do them lol. Also… When the hell did season one of paper football happen!?
we played field goals when the ball went off the table, which resulted in a lot more points than this game had
Camera angle is awesome! I Got to see Jakes John boy’s for 20 minutes!
I seem to remember playing with different rules. Field goals, kick offs...
I think after you scored, you flicked the football from your end of the table, with the ball set up half hanging off the table, so it would fly up and on the field.
Someone already mentioned the ball getting pushed off the table so many times resulted in a field goal attempt for the opposition.
Also, when i kicked fgs, i would set up the ball long side down, face out.
Anyone else with other rules or strategies?
This is awesome, jr high days at the lunch tables. Bloody knuckles with quarters (in hindsight, a gross game). Guys farting, hilariously laughing and clearing the lunch table. Of course chinese football, finding the guy who could make the best balls. Best of times!
8 foot for the table. Didnt watch the whole video but im guessing the rules are much different than the 90s rules. Super fun game for a bunch of kids!
In my senior or junior year of highschool, some of us would finish our work super quickly. The teacher had a desk at the back of the room but she taught at the front. She let us use her desk for a paper football league haha. That was a great set of memories from that time. Had a good number of people that would play when we could every day.
Love the use of video replay on this, keeping it clean and fun, not overbearing. 👍
10:20 When we played in school we rewarded first shot touchdowns by making the extra point worth 2 (if you make it.) Made risky comebacks possible
Also every 3 times a player knocks it over the edge the other player gets to try for a 3 point kick. Gives the game more action
Local rules at my school were that the initial kick off and each time a player flicks the ball off the table the player whose turn it is hangs the paper football off the table (just like how it is for a td) and “kicks off” then proceeds with the two downs from wherever it lands. If the kick off goes off the table then the ball starts at the hand length like you were doing.
This is so awesome with the multiple camera angles! I could watch you guys play tic tac toe and be entertained. 💛💛
As the 5th grade professional paper football champion of 1997, you guys should look into adopting some of our house rules for paper football:
1. One drive only per player (so more like a back and forth)
2. 3 offs leads to penalty field goal kick for 3 points.
3. Use ruler and tape on table for accurate measurement for returned football (5 inch measurement, paper placed flat In front of tape when returned)
4.Use only your thumbs and pointer fingers as goal post, flush with the end of the table.
5. Kickoffs after touchdowns (paper football on edge of table, and you slap it upwards to the other side.)
"Wait, TIME OUT!... Worst first shot of the game.." "easily"
old school rule of ours: PAT field goal post should be index finger to index finger as the bottom bar, thumbs as the posts. then the two-point conversion is an option by trying to slide it under the index fingers... BUT the opponent can stop the conversion with their spare fingies
I remember in 10th grade science I got the whole class doing a paper football tourney. It looked like a sanctioned event. Until the teacher noticed and shut it down lol
Omg i loved paper football so much in junior high...i spent a Saturday making 100 paper footballs and decorating each one for all the college football teams...im talkin USC to Alcorn St....lol...had a college football magazine to copy off of...may have been the nerdiest thing i ever did?...nahhh...lol
I dont know if you guys get how much this video was made for me. I lived this game in the early 00s. I will gladly subscribe to see future PFL videos
Paper football kits were all the rage at the scholastic book fair in my elementary school. If you weren't in there the first day you were out of luck, buddy.
“What could possibly happen” idk a fucking dorito of paper piercing your eye but that couldn’t possibly happen… 😂
Consider a camera on the kicker’s side tilted back, like a video game/over the shoulder field goal cam. Think that’d be sweet especially if you guys are closing your eyes and smiling in slow mo when the football hits you, that’s just quality content 😂 Love the new series
THis is awesome, another fun table game is penny hockey. start with 3 pennies in pyramid formation, flick them, and then work your way down the table, having to flick the furthest back penny between the two most forward two pennies like a field goal, continue down the table until you think you might be able to score. the goal/net is one hand with pinky and pointer finger out and the other hand with just your pinky out making a goal where your pointer finger is the goalie and both your pinkies are the posts. hopefully that made sense. I can see you guys loving this just as much as table football.
This was fantastic live and it was fantastic upon rewatch
Here’s an idea. Measure out the length of each ones hand and make a marking there for kick offs. That way Jimmy doesn’t get the advantage ;)
I though going off the edge triggered a field goal opportunity for your opponent.
Super intense paper football competition
I had that same paper football set. I know exactly what ur talking about. The football was super heavy and rubbery
How about 2 point conversions. One "throw" from the 50 yard line.
This is really making me think of starting a paper football league with my roomates this year
I remember the sports team paper footballs, still have some of those from the quarter machines
As a 34 year old adult man, I was way too in to that. Just a couple critiques: back in my playing days, we did one and done. First down was the only down. Also, kickoffs were from the edge of the table, flicking the football into the air, landing either with a flat slap or a ping ping ping dribble, you never know. It's part of the randomness that makes the game great. I don't know how the game has evolved in the last 25 years or so since I hung up the finger cleats, but this version seems somewhat acceptable. But just like any boomer, wanted to throw out the "back in my day..."
Today I learned that the rules I played with growing up are not universal... We would label the sides of the football as 1 and 2, and flip the football from a "hanging off the table" position as the kickoff. Then you would have the number that lands face up as your number of hits. I was gonna say you guys played wrong but then I googled and couldn't find my old rules anywhere.
Feels like a game that everyone plays different since the internet wasn’t even really a thing back when I played. I kinda love your rules tbh - jom
Y'all need goal post lol. I have this set I got that has nice goal post and we set them up after each score it's pretty nice and rarely any confusion.
Definitely make mine with a whole sheet of paper. Seen the leather ones that Klutz made back in the day?
This is the best thing I’ve ever watched
How about after a touchdown you can go for two but you have to score from the entire length of the field? Could make things interesting in a close game.
Paper football ruled. Gotta have a spin
You guys had me on the EDGE of my seat
This game is riveting. I'm riveted.
I remember doing this shit during lunch period in 4th through 7th grade in JHS.
This is kinda amazing, New series Back Alley Paper Football... The trick is they never actually play in an alley
Great setup and general production!
Best sport currently being broadcasted.
Gonna need a breakdown on all the times Jimmy cheats the game a bit!
Jomboy and Jake giving us the real whiteboy summer
This warms my soul.
You gotta get the whole office in the league
3:25 Jake’s announcing the making of the football I’d pay 3.99 a minute to hear on a 900 sex line number dayum
Played this in middle school way back in the day...
I wish y'all would put what game of each season it is. I'm trying to start at the first season but I can't find it bromies
Where can find the first season of paper football?
i'm surprised they didnt spend half the episode trying to figure out the controls
If u go to the dollar tree they have what jomboy was talking about they have a rubber foam triangle peace thingy and to field goal post I mean a long time ago it would have been pretty cool I bought it a few months ago me and my nephew played how had a blast to be honest lolol
For kickoff one player should push it down like a kickoff to the other team if it goes off then it’s just like normal but I feel like you could try to get them right next to the edge
Hmmm... watch paper football or keep my job. Calling in sick boyz.
Why in the world do I love these dumb competitions so much? I think I have issues.
If you do this again, can you put Jimmy on the right and Jake on the left if that’s where they’re sittin’
Watching a grown man and a Jake playing paper football >>>
jakes plays are giving me major dainty vibes
Season 2? When was season 1?
I think a first-down TD should be rewarded- either give the PAT automatically, or two shots at the PAT, or one shot at the PAT but make it worth two points.
Folding a penny in on a longer table led to heated battles.
We always played flicking it not pushing it
I feel like taking the kick slow mo from behind the kicker would give a better angle. Also this is some hype af stuff.
Also you have to have pencil laces along the top of one side to be true paper football
10:50 🚨 YELLOW FLAG 🚨
You could make match5 trivia using notecards and a basic understanding of the game.
Dang, this made middle school lunches! Love this!
Also, if you lightly lick the paper after the fold, you’ll get a cleaner tear.
I keep clicking that triangle
There should be a field goal attempt for other player for off the table...thats how we used to play.
a first shotter's PAT should be like a two point conversion
No shot Jake's first field goal was good
MORE OF THIS
jimmy, your hand length isnt a hand plus a thumb or your hand plus 3 inches or an arbitrary spot near the end of your hand, just slide it out like jake. we got the birdseye bud!
11:00 what happened?! Totally got caught
you can kick a FG so much better by putting one whole edge on the table as opposed to propping it up by on of its points
Ive never played paper football with touchdowns. Only field goals
We use to play if you slid it off the other person got to attempt a field goal.
You guy play like Ray Charles if he wasn’t blind!
We used to call that method of making paper football the “girl way”. Why am I not surprised.
do more of this
This kinda feels like it's in the same realm as robot umpires, but what if you held up a rectangular clear box for the extra point? If it goes in, point. If not, miss. Downside is it takes some humanity out of the game. 🤷♂️
should have made that, Jake
did jimmy just quote Gunna “speeditup”
I know this is random but they should bring back Mxc and have jomboy and Jake commentate
Jake for sure didn’t roll blunts. I know because I have small hands also
Love it.
Better table football rules: 3 off the edges is a field goal, you don’t get to hit it twice per turn, and field goals are when you put your fists on the table, connect your pointer fingers, and put your thumbs up.
This right here are the real rules. Also it's kinda make it take it cause if you score, you kickoff with the football hanging off the table edge
New rule to add 3pt field goals? 1-2 per game ?
“3rd grade, I was just about that flick life”- Jake sucks
