are we all gonna ignore the Eric rosen multiverse version making an entrance at 3:35 ?
Nice catch ahaha
Lmaooo how did u catch that? 😂😂
It's Shia the frickin' BEEF!
@@AlanTwoRingsEric Rosen and Jake and Amir fan- thought I was the only one...
@@AlanTwoRings who is that ?
People are going to find Eric's rated Stafford games in a database 75 years from now and be so confused
Why would they be confused
no, they are gonna know exactly what sort of deviancy he was up to
@@Arvl.Searching for Eric Rosen would've premiered decades earlier and would've only been recognizable to a select few.
@@Arvl.they wouldn’t be confused, OP is just projecting because he feels confused every time he plays/studies chess
@@Arvl. Because the Republicans are bringing America back to the 1800s.
Super satisfying to how crushing this was. Unfortunate for your opponent but grateful they gave us the opportunity to see the Stafford play out otb
"Super satisfying to see you crush this girl". Chess can be weird 😅
@@IsaacBenevideswell if you phrase it like that it sure is weird
@@IsaacBenevidesI mean that's not what they said? They are talking about how crushing the Stafford Gambit was against a 2000+ rated player.
*Most sports:* _“Oh look its a child, lets go easy on them”_ 😊
*Chess:* _”Oh lord its a child, lets beat the shit out of them.”_ 😨
In chess, the children beat the shit out of you
@@randomizednammeI once got annihilated by a 6-year-old. Of course, he was over -19OO- 1600 and I was (and am still) nowhere near that
Edit: poor memory lol
Even leaving aside that there are some very strong children out there, you show your opponent respect by taking them seriously and playing your strongest game. Be kind and friendly and welcoming off the board, and be as cutthroat and lethal as you can on the board.
In any competitive game where you can play against children in rated matches you better be prepared to blow them out of the water because there are prodigies lurking everywhere. I once played in a Magic tournament against a 13 year old kid who was playing a deck that routinely killed people on the first turn of the game. You better believe I took him seriously when I got paired against him.
It's a beautiful sport because the child can win. Not like a boxing match
”I was analysing the Stafford Gambit before the tournament, and then I realised that white wins with like any move. And like I… I don’t want to diss Eric’s opening, but I couldn’t bring myself to play it. It was just, like, I couldn’t analyse it. Every move wins. It was terrible.”
I don’t know if this comment is satire or not but the engine can’t properly evaluate the staffers
@@ScoutrunnerTopicThe quote is from Fabiano Caruana and nowhere does he mention an engine evaluation.
@@ScoutrunnerTopic You have no idea what you're talking about. Stafford is losing for Black. Not only does Stockfish properly evaluate the Stafford, it also gives concrete, forcing winning lines for White, whatever moves you throw at it. Stafford Gambit is kindergarden chess.
@@milankotevski1663funny that you're calling the Stafford kindergarten chess on a video of a literal chess master playing it in a rated blitz tournament and winning. It's called a dubious opening for a reason.
@@misterlukeflips4065 your comment makes no sense, sorry.
Love this format of tournament footage with Eric narrating us through his thought process on the overlay board.
Highly appreciate more of that.
Also, seeing your otb Stafford win is a rare gift.
Me: What is best in life?
Eric: To crush your enemy, see her driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of her parents.
Definitely would love to see more of your Vegas blitz games!
Show all your games! I love when yo play blitz and unknown players because you play aggressively, which your play style really suits.
Always love watching Stafford gambit videos from your Channel. I would love to see more from Vegas.
Yes! More of these games!
Great video and great format Eric, thanks for posting and I do hope to see the rest!
Nice video Eric, I enjoy your analysis, and definitely looking forward for more games from blitz tournament.
I saw Walter Browne at the New York Open in 1983, and Reuben Fine and Joel Benjamin and Sam Reshevsky. What an amazing experience.
I would love to see you recap most if not all of your blitz games!
I like this format, hoping for more
I definitely want to see more of your games!
Love this commentary format, and nice game as always!
I really appreciated you posting this, thank you.
Would love to see all the blitz games!
It’s wild how the engine eval is so in favor of white in the Stafford; the position looks scary with all the open lines of sight for black’s pieces; unless the refutation is in white’s prep, they’re going to be down a lot of time if they manage to make it out of the middlegame
Of course we want to see the blitz games!
we are glad yo have you back home safe and so glad you had a great tournament and enjoyed yourself~!
Thanks for posting this! Yes please post more!👍🙏
Nothing better than seeing Eric play Stafford in tourney play!
More of these games please!!!!
Been waiting for this one
nicely timed commentary
I'd like to see more of the tourney games!!!
Boy do I ever wanna see more Stafford games in rated games OTB. Thanks for being awesome
Hey Eric, i'm a big fan!
I learned to play the sStafford from your games (I study your opening repertoire on lichess).
Just had a quick question regarding the position you got in game.
After 10. Bf4 you responded with 11. Qe7
Online you tried once 11. Qh5
According to the computer the best move by far is 11. Qf6.
Did you study this and decided that Qe7 is the trickier move? Or that the position is pretty hard to play for black after Qf6 ?
Or did you not consider Qf6 as a candidate move ?
Your recaps are great!
Of course we want to see your other games.
Love blitz games
Yes, more! They are always exciting.;-)
I don't know if I should be learning the Stafford from Eric as a beginner player but there's no stopping my addiction now
Definitely! It's a lot of fun if you get the position. Many many people won't know what to play against it, and even more so ofc at lower levels
@@Rhubarb_Tea especially at beginner level! and I think it is a great way to understand opening based plans
there's no better way to teach a beginner the important basic structures to be scared of than playing all the dubious gambits there are. these things never exist in 'serious' openings so your eye never learns to spot them from those. and if you don't spot them you'll keep falling for them every time.
i love this video format
Of course it would be great to see more you playing in a real blitz tournament
Thanks you for your videos. I enjoy watching your chess games with your commentary and the analysis afterwards. Very informative. Oh no! My queen.
When Eric plays Stafford its all prep till last move 😍🔥🤘
3:35 Eric enters the background of his own video
Stafford too powerful. Nice game Eric!
Hey I watched you play in Vegas at the blitz event. It was nice meeting you and seeing you play GM Arman Mikaelyan
i was literally there a few days ago, i went against her too in blitz, won one lost one, i also saw you too an got a picture, it was great meeting u!
very good Eric... I vote yes; you explain cess well
I felt bad for your opponent ,Eric played almost every move instantly crushing her with no mercy
I want to see the Stafford in a classical game
It would get destroyed. Not a diss on the Stafford, it's my favorite dubious opening.
Perfect! I always watch your videos to sleep
Definitely I am going to study IM rosen deadly weapon special Stafford gambit
Nice one, Stafford excellent choice for blitz , you may show the board and your actual cam on one side and the video on the other of the screen ?
And Eric’s had a shave, good job!
4:39 hxg3 oh no my queen! but after fxg3 Qxc5+ Qf2 there's probably not much to play for any more.
Eric is a wizard at the Stafford
great game with the stafford
Hey Eric, have you posted the blitz tournament from Reykjavik yet? I know you mentioned you would post a video about it but I never saw it.
The first video of my match with Alexandra Botez is teed up! I'm waiting for her video to be ready and we'll post it on the same day.
@@eric-rosen great, thanks!
Man, that was brutal.
Every single time I’ve tried this I get some kind of Rosenbrah phenom playing immediately d3 and Be2 and it quickly becomes obvious they are more prepped than I am 😂 NEVER AGAIN!
I love your Stafford gambit videos, although I never play it❤
Eric is different when he plays against kids 😂
8:06 Believe me or not, despite h3, I have still played h5 and carried on with Stafford after they castle! It literally superimpose into the same Stafford attack almost every time 😅 (at least for my/opponent level of 1750 elo)
The Tal of the Stafford strikes again! That girl you were playing had absolute terror on her face😅
The mask?
You made it look so easy!
Master class Stafford
The stafford is the most OP opening there is.
bruh that was epic
In a blitz tournament this is a good gambit
At 4:25, did you consider winning the rook by moving bishop to h3?
I don't think it wins the rook. bishop takes bishop
@@otternox2 queen takes and the rook still trapped, the thing is you win a rook and the attack severly burns out, white would have a piece and a pawn for it and this is no where close to an easy win. I'm pretty sure Bh3 is better since it prevents the F pawn and the king from moving, even if Bf3 was worse, for blitz it's worth the problems the opponents have to deal
@@otternox2 Bishop can take bishop, but queen can take back and then there's nothing that can stop Black's light-square bishop from taking White's rook on the next move.
She was probably nervous after watching you set up that camera 😂
Master of Stafford
My chess team was at the las vegas.
You are the Boss of stafford gambit.❤
Eric, are you left-handed? Or were you just playing with your left hand because the clock was on that side?
look at the clock, its stafford gambit time again
If you play against Eric and don't know Stafford you are asking for troubles.
Stafford Gambit time
Great
I love it
You know… now I’m kinda inspired to do the same for my upcoming tournament
Why not? Worst case is you learn something.
I don’t get why Qh6 wasn’t played before recapturing bishop on c5.
Fun
"I'm bored of seeing Eric Rosen playing Stafford Gambit" - Literally no one, ever
more is good
Ngl, if I ever got to play Eric in person, I know he’s better than me, so I’d play into a Stafford for the opportunity to get wrecked by Eric.
You played her like a fiddle.
After Qe3 did you have hxg3, Eric?
Next tourny you must play the Jerome
Would you play this in a classical time game?
Fabulous game! Sorry if this has been explained somewhere, but what’s with the limp handshakes in chess? Does it have something to do with the nerves / anxiety that builds before & after a game, thus you’re worried about squeezing too hard or giving a clammy, sweaty handshake so you opt for a gentle, minimal-contact one?
I think it might be concern for knocking over the pieces meaning your handshake is a bit awkward
Next time play Stafford in a classical rated game😂😂
I'm rated 800 and even I have lost to the stafford. Truly, an opening to be reckoned with
you've probably lost in every opening though, no?
I certainly have.. at least all the openings I've played before I mean
@@snared_ You play chess long enough you'll lose to every opening, no?
@@dogstilez right, that's kinda what I was trying to point out :)
more sure
Jaque mate con tomate
Why does no one play f3 after accepting the gambit?
Rh2+ after Kg2 is also a good tactic correct?
whats the follow up? i think this is losing, just king takes and you are to slow to bring more pieces into the attack
Struggling the urge to say "stafford gambit time"
Eric's bullying that poor kid :(
Gg tho
Give me a call sometime. I'll show you a system that will make you drop the Stafford dead in its tracks. You'll gain 100 points and have even MORE fun at chess!
Life rules:
- Don't spit into the wind.
- Don't say what happened in Vegas.
- Don't ask Mussorgsky what happened that night on Bald Mountain.
- Don't accept the Stafford Gambit against Eric Rosen.
There's no Rook h1, but there's Queen g1. Looks fine for white, isn't it?
I thought the same. But of course he can take the queen now with his queen.
4:22 Ba3?
