That football event looks sort of based on a later-season American Gladiators event where they put the players on a bungee cord and made them run to grab a ball hanging just out of reach. It's a little easier when you're not a 50lbs child.
I thought of it immediately, like a nostalgia memory, of people getting smashed as they tried to put the footballs in the things.
Lace was always the weakest Gladiator, but she was also the least muscled up woman, so she got a lot of screen time.

Maybe require a call your shot to be used in a different event each time. Cut it down to 4 call your shots over the season instead of 8 and you have to use one in each of the 4 rounds. So at some point, you've gotta call your shot on round 1.
Calling your shot on the 1st event should be worth 2 points. It’s a leap of faith.
Calling your shot on the first event should be double points

It would be smarter if the call your shot was assigned a slot (example: 3 after the first event, 3 after the 2nd, and 2 after the 3rd event). Everyone always waits until the end to call their shot and it kind of ruins the whole thing.
I think yall should change the "call your shot" to only one person can do it per event. Who ever calls their shot first would get it. Would make it a bit more interesting and add more strategy. Would make it to where we could have some potetnial early event call your shots. Instead of most of them being at the end. Great ep as always
the argument about clapping early or not for Mo was literally like a scene from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Jimmy it’s situational like going for 2 in football. In this case I say you call your shot for first because your behind joezach is first for the season and they’re in line to come in at least second for this episode. So even if they get 3 points this episode you’ll always end up gain at least 1 in the final standings with the potential of 3 if you do hit the bonus and you sweep the events. BUT if you were in first for the season to start the episode you hedge your bet and go second because it’s one point difference and that could be made up later in the season plus the crag is always a toss up so who knows if you even end up getting 6 points if you do call your shot correctly. I would suggest if this was after the season reset you would hedge the 5 pointer no matter your season standings only because the odds of you making up points isn’t as broad.
EDIT: I forgot about the never last bonus point but still not a bad choice. Joezach gained no points for their lead on the season
I agree with the variance strategy you suggest on whether to go for the 6-point episode, generally. However, it's only the second episode, so just like early in a football game, you should just try to maximize points. Since she had been dominant early, picking her first was the correct decision with the information you had available.
Later in the season, then choosing to hedge to secure 5 points if ahead vs. going for 6 if behind is correct.
Both Jim and JoeZack made the same decisions I would have made in this episode.

I would have gone Blue, Red, Purple. Purple was a clear dud 3rd, crazy that Jake drafted him first. Made no sense, he was a peanut. Don't know what is going on with the Team Jake Front Office. Worst Front Office in Playing Watching Guts History. That being said we've now seen again how the bonus points can drastically change the pace of the game. Jomboy lost 2 points in one event missing his call your shot AND never last. To consider how many points 2 points is, it's the entire total Jake has across 2 episodes... (3 if you're counting the finale of the previous season where I believe he got 0 as well, again worst front office).
this is a top 5 episode my god. that last event is insane
There should be incentive for doing a call your shot on the first event. Maybe an extra bonus point?
I thought about that, but it might reward a clear #1 too much.
I thought in cases of tied episode results, earlier gets a point or half point
2 points is too heavy. my suggestion would be if you call your shot on the first event and call it correctly, the threshold for getting the second bonus point becomes lower for you (for example, last place only need 950, 2nd place can come last but only once, 1st place can come not first in one event). almost guarantees you get the second bonus point but not quite if you miss the call your shot you see no benefit at all.

I had to watch the epic Tornado Run three times, what an absolute rollercoaster! Little purple dude had the race through the first cargo net and then couldn’t climb the next one to come get dinner because he was too weak and tired from being hungry. Then of course Jake’s expression was also priceless 😢

Joezack consistently drafting winners has me a Stan so hard. We came from 3 round picks ONLY to Jim and Jake failing miserably and I am so here for it. Bless it.
Team Jake all the way. Still early in the season. Jake new strategy- Whoever you think should be your 1st pick, take the person to the left of them! For example if it’s purple you are feeling, take blue….
Jim, your strategy was correct and I would have done the same thing.
It's early enough in the season that you primarily want to maximize your points. Since Bianca had been dominant to that point and you had no information about the 4th game, I see no reason not to choose her to win.
Were this later in the season, hedging by choosing her 2nd (or even 3rd) may have been correct if you were in the season lead. That bonus point would protect your lead if you ended up not winning the episode. In this case, JoeZack are clearly ahead in the season as they have one more first round pick than others, so that supports going for the 6-point episode even more.
Both you and JoeZack made the same decisions I would have made in your positions...both in which contestant to choose and waiting to the 4th game to use Call Your Shot.

I feel like Jimmy hedging his bet would have meant picking her to come 2nd anyway, so he was probably out on bonus points. Joez noting the low center of gravity immediately going into that last event is what sold their bonus point selection.
Exercise ball suggestion: make call your shot as valuable as the game itself. If you call it correctly first event, 4 points, second event 3 points and so on.
