    On that pump you replaced on the Kubota. It has a diaphragm that keeps the fuel and oil separate. The diaphragm goes bad and fuel leaks into the oil.

    Taylor, i was just thinking, how about getting a quick Disconnect for the Baler monitor, keeping the power cord attached to the battery and have the quick disconnect someplace where you can get to it easily, that way it would save you from attaching and disconnecting the power source from the battery everytime 😊

    I enjoy seeing the ladies!! Happy u got a stretch of dry weather and r haying! Just a little fyi: Generally, mechanical fuel pmps r designed basically as a '2 part' unit (even if it appears as a solid unit)....1 side is wet (where the fuel flows)...the other side is dry (where the actuator arm is). There is a gasket membrane separating the 2 sections, keeping the fuel where it belongs. Typically, the actuator arm is driven via a concentric lobe on the camshaft. When the membrane deteriorates, it can allow fuel to flow into the engine crankcase. Stay safe out there....and don't forget to wear sunscreen!!

    If the diaphragm on the fuel pump is bad.( The fuel pump has a lever that is actuated by a lobe on the cam or crank shaft). It could allow fuel to get into the crankcase. this is bad because the fuel will mix with the engine oil. this dilutes the oil and could damage the engine bearings. So check your oil level often, if the oil on the dip stick rises, that could indicate fuel is getting into the crankcase. Due to a internal fuel pump leak.Not a good thing.

  • @jasonduval4172
    @jasonduval4172 Рік тому

    That fuel pump arm runs against the cam when the diafram gets old it leaks internally into the engine block that’s when you start making oil

  • @bonidaexpress
    @bonidaexpress 11 місяців тому

    Fuel in oil is usually a bad injector, check if your oil level is too high you can add lucas or drain the oil before you ruin the bearings

    Mechanical fuel pumps (that’s what you have on the Kubota) are mounted over a hole in the side of the block. A lever on the pump usual rides on the cam shaft and moves a diaphragm which pumps the fuel. When that diaphragm fails fuel leaks passed it and into the engine oil. That is the extent of my mechanical fuel pump knowledge and I’m sure it’s not completely correct. Hopefully someone here will correct me if I’m wrong.

    To answer your question about how the fuel gets in the engine that is a fuel pump so there's fuel on one side and the other goes into the crank case as you can see so there has to be a seal between the two and that seal is bad therefore leaking diesel into the engine crankcase

  • @speedandmarine9066
    @speedandmarine9066 Рік тому

    That is the transfer pump (aka lift pump) you changed. It draws fuel from the tank and pushes into the injection pump. That style injection pump is lubricated by engine oil and the lift pump is drive off the injection pump camshaft which is running in engine oil. When the lift pump fails internally it will leak fuel into the injection pump case and mix with the engine oil in there. If the engine oil gets diluted by fuel it thins out and loses lubricity which is hard on the moving parts like crank/rod bearings and injection pump cam. Another excellent video, always enjoy seeing what's going on around the farm!

    Hey Taylor, mechanical fuel pumps have a rubber composite diaphragm inside. When that diaphragm fails the pump not only stops pumping effectively but also allows the fuel to bypass and enter the crankcase. Most have a small vent hole which also acts as a tell-tale that the pump has failed. Checking the oil level before each use and catching the over full can save you a engine overhaul. I recently had to replace the fuel pump on my 1964 F100 which I also had installed a 351m😊

The 3 tractors are repaired and back working. Now you can go finish the cutting and baling of all the hay, that if it doesn't rain again.Thanks for another great video of your dairy farm.
