I didn't think Moist got enough respect in the 90's compared to band's like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, etc. I'm Canadian but, this bring's back so much memories for me. They we're alway's one of my favorite band's from that era.
I'm crying my eyes out right now. I've been to a show by Moist I think like 6 times, I was a boy teenager madly in love with the singer David Usher, and Moist was my favorite most profound and visceral band of my whole childhood. I cannot overstate the significance of this music in my youth. Im 38 now, supposed to be an adult... but fuck no Im not, Im still just a kid crying with headphones on
Im in quebec and listening to chom fm 97.7 and this song popped out of nowhere, reminding me of this incredible band! Thank you CHOM for this good flashback!
Canada always had some decent music throughout the years, but it’s a shame that so many other people didn’t get a chance to hear much of it. Moist may not have been Nirvana, but they had their place, and their hits. I’ve always loved this song. Much Music all the way. #ScrewRickTheTemp
Crazy thing, I’m 44 Had a flashback from my college days and this song came to my head. Wow!! What a great song! Nostalgia hurts so good!! One of the most Underrated vans of the 1990s
to be perfectly honest, I may have been naive, but I grew up thinking Moist was as big as Led Zeppelin. Their songs sound like it. Wasn't much internet back then and I just went with how their records sounded. They'll always be a top tier Rock n Roll band in my eyes. These 89k views is shocking, I'd think it's be in the millions for such a great song.
Reminds me when life was simple. Before my older brother has wasted his life with drugs. I used to borrow this CD from him when times were normal. Miss them. Won’t ever get them back.
The lyrics of this song really hit home for me. I had amnesia of being abducted and assaulted at a sleepover when I was barely 13 years old. For 17 years I had no idea I was disabled and a victim of such pathetic violence. To have gone for so many years unaware I was disabled is sad. Now I realize I have gained extra abilities in some ways, but to express them is difficult. EUGENICS is a real threat to everyone. Not just to the MENTALLY DISABLED. What a curse to accept lack of action & lack of expression. These need to be encouraged ALWAYS!
I love this song! However here in the United States I was not able to get this CD. I tried endlessly at every source that was available to me and was told by everyone that it just wasn't for sale in the U.S. I was able to get it on the Brokedown Palace Soundtrack and that was the only way I could get it. Thankfully so much has changed since the late 1990s and some things are easier to find; I've found a copy online and hopefully it will be in my hands soon.
Creature is definitely my favourite album of theirs. I hope you managed to get it, and have enjoyed finally getting the chance to listen to it 😌 It's a huge shame how many of our incredible bands just don't make it beyond our borders - but I love how much you tried. That's really cool.
MOIST did not gain the radio and awareness their superb work deserves... Lead singer songwriter David Usher seems to portray Haunting Characters as they perform their songs; Worth Seeing if they are Touring Again! Masterful!!!
I never realised there was a difference between Canadian music and American music. I guess becasue i grew up in Canada and listened to alot of American bands and groups as well and disnt think that our music didnt travel as far simply based on it being Canadian music. There are so many Canadian bands that deserve alot more credit then they got back in the day.
This is such a powerful and meaningful song from start to finish Almost brings tears to my eyes. I’m from Everett WA I heard it first on to he fox 99.3. I could t get this album either
I checked songmeanings comments and actually it scared me when the word fate was brought up. I take nothing for granted now. When its my time to leave, as for family and friends nothing will be left unspoken. Because i wishes and what ifs will remain just that I wish and what if
I loved this song very much. Still do. I loved the whole album. Listened to it a lot when I was bullied and just to enjoy good music. It got me through more than I can express. The entire experience of this song was transcendent. Good vocals complimented by tight drum& guitar. Perfect for the time. So much feeling. David and the band really did something special. Thank you Moist from the bottom of my heart. ❤
I always liked this band a lot in my younger years. Once again I'll say that I can't help but see and hear deeper meaning in there videos. And many others as well.
The song that plays right after "Creature" evokes such strong feelings for me even though it was one of my least favourite songs of the album. The trumpet just takes me back to 1997 when I was 13 years old and playing video games with my friends
I'm almost 40, man, I miss the simple days. The younger years. Traveled all over the world, married now, and live a wonderful life. Didn't think I'd be alive to see these days. RIP my younger years and all that has passed since.
@@inkyjonin5341 They do, with rare exceptions live (The Strokes's Last Night) or new versions for the singles (Pearl Jam's Even Flow and Sirens), but music videos aren't always multi cam, so you have to reshoot segments sometimes for various reasons (lighting, errors, etc)
He looks EXACTLY like my brothers friend and he went to the same elementary school as me. It’s so funny because this guy (my brothers friend) actually is a fan of moist and David usher😂😂

Any other Canadians here? Hozers know they were great. Not bad eh!
i think they were given enough credit in Canad but that's how canadian bands go, never too big across the border.
This reminds of a time in my youth I can never go back to and never experience again.

Nice changes and the singer can skillfully craft a melody.

Good and bad memories of the young me
I'd walk the water to get back to you
And where I was complete
We found you scattered by the highway side too
Soon to be released
Gathered the pieces up and clean the places
Where you were undone
And washed the wreckage out unfinished all the
Thoughts that we'd begun
I came to burn the sky and tear away
The beauty that it sows
If I could rape the day and find the things I thought
I'd always known
Leave it alone again tonight
I laid your arms out long untwisted there
And shaped what I could find
Unmade the most of it and then left the rest
The parts unrecognized
My reconstruction was the only way
For one last look at you
I lost the sense of absolution
That we never knew
Leave it alone again tonight
Leave it alone again tonight
And it takes me back from this place here
It takes me back from this place here
I came to burn the sky and tear away
The beauty that it sows
I came to rape the day and find the things
I thought I'd always known
Leave it alone again tonight
And it takes me back from this place here
From this place here it takes me over
And it might be lost in this place here
From this place here it takes me on
Tonight leave it alone
