I remember making my mix tape off of songs I recorded from the radio (back in the 90s), and Tangerine was one of the songs I just had to have on my little mix tape! So the song started and I hit record and it turns out the radio station played One More Astronaut by IME right after Tangerine... so I just kept recording. To this day, whenever I hear Tangerine ending, the first chords of I One Astronaut play in my head after David User says "...away" without fail. I miss the 90's!
I'm 32 but I remember Moist as one of my favourite bands I'd hear on Much Music... I found them again 6 years ago and come back to them at least once a year. I'm saddened by the views, I expected a few Million views...
Same, man. I'm 35 and remember listening to "Breathe" obsessively back in the Much Music days 😌 I've been super into them again lately, and can't believe I slept on their music for all these years. But I also find it wild to see how few views there are and how hard it is to find things about them. They're legitimately amazing, like just ridiculously good. More of us need to rediscover them!
Well at least this video for it didn't get blocked in my country, and if this is the real vevo for them I'd rather support them here cause their songs deserve it!
@@donnieblankolate 90s and 2000s canadian alt rock was amazing. I wonder If Australia had a similar scene we are all missing out on since it's such a parallel nation?!?!?! Moist, I Mother Earth, Wide Mouth Mason, OLP, Finger 11, Jet Set, Econoline Crush, Big Sugar
I saw them perform at a tiny venue in Leeds, UK, called the Duchess of York. The drummer fell through his own kit and took the bassist down in the same movement. They kept playing while the crew rebuilt the kit around the drummer. Totally nuts but lots of fun!
I saw these guys in 1997 at a Molson Canadian Rocks Blind Date at the Kee To Bala. There was a curtain over the stage and when they came out they broke into a perfect cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller ( the crowd boo'd ) When the curtain fell they broke right into this song. Free beer all night on the edge of lake in Muskoka while Moist played...pretty epic!
Holy shit I was there that night. Not inside cuz I was a bit too young, but I heard the entire thing! Epic times. There was a magic (perhaps youth? Haha) in everything back then.
@@SeemsLikeSomething That's weird..I'm fairly certain that is where the cottage was I stayed at. There's a rocky set of falls if my memory isnt to far gone and we went rock diving the next day ( not near the falls) a little further away
jeremy rowe Yeah right in town there’s the Bala falls. Beautiful rocky falls, lake Muskoka feeds into the moon river right there. Bala was just the best back then. Now, it’s facing a big hydro station being installed in that very spot. Upsetting to say the least. I think there’s a website. Savethebalafalls should get ya info if you’re interested.
@@SeemsLikeSomething That's a shame. My Dad used to work at the Kee because his best friends parents owned it, and I spent a lot of time there. I live in New Brunswick now and haven't been back in years...way to destroy more water front Ontario!
I'm kind of glad they didn't get the recognition they deserved. Made me feel we got a special treat in the 90s with bands like Moist, OLP, Matt Good, and I Mother Earth. It's like we got all the good Grunge/Alternative bands from the US plus more!
David is an incredible songwriter. He's written like 72 albums by this point and is still putting out some amazing music, the new album is phenomenal. The whole band is so talented and so underrated 💜
Let the record show, this video won "Video of the Year" at the 1997 Muchmusic Video Awards. Moist beat out bands like Our Lady Peace and The Tragically Hip. This is no small feat! But it was well deserved. What an incredible song and video.
God, why isn’t music this good anymore? Part of me wishes that I grew up in my parents generation, when times were simplified. This band is incredible and legendary! I wish it was more well known. I’m proud to be Canadian.
What is this song *about* exactly? Is there some deep meaning I’m too dense to get, or is it just word salad? Don’t get me wrong, I love the song but I can’t make heads or tails of the lyrics.
Top 10... but think about Default, Our Lady Peace, and Nickelback in their hayday. 3 Days Grace, The Tea Party, Billy Talent, BTO.. alternative-wise you're only competing with OLP, but for the whole rock genre there's a lot more to choose from
@@jessicaburroughs5763 Don't forget I mother Earth or Crash Test Dummies lol. Yeah Moist is top 10, maybe 5. Our Lady Peace was awful live when I seen them, probably the worst concert ever. Matthew Good is the best Canadian artist of all time in my books.
@patrick grondines 3DG is good.. but I lost respect for them when they played the Apocalyptica song 'I Don't Care' at the end of their concert without ANY credit. They passed it off as their own, it was the song everyone went crazy for.. and nobody knew it was an Apocalyptica song they collaborated on. I mean.. they did it justice, it's Adam's voice on the song and 3DG did the piano so nobody was the wiser.. but I was damn disgusted.

Been on a massive Moist kick in 2023
ever since this album came out 😩
Moist & Mathew Good Band favorite Canadian Band of the 90's
Forgot Our lady Peace also on that list!
Aw this takes me back to my 90s youth - killer band, great tune
I was like 16
yeah me too, I was 16
When this was new on radio the Winnipeg channels played it everyday 2-3 times, good times!

I remember these guys on much music when it was much music .
Countdowns before bed were my fav as a 90s kid.
One of my faves to this this day, I get the good vibes from them big time🤙
Super powerful song just wow!!!❤❤❤
This song is magic.
Another feel-good video from Moist! Actually, they were so good - world class talent. I thought they'd end up huge internationally.
Had all their albums, love Moist such a great band!!
I still have the albums..... what have you done with yours?
One of my favorite bands of the 90's!
Ça va tjrs être bon ça...

The most underrated band in the history of music. If they were American, they would have been as popular as Bon Jovi.
Nirvana you mean...
Most underrated Canadian band. Are you a Canuck aswell? 😂 pound for pound Canada has more artists than then the US does. Or did.
Definitely true. Such a incredible band.

Love this one. All their albums are great, even their most recent after a very long hiatus. Get to see them in concert next door to me in June 2020
