- The Ligier JS P4 was unveiled in 2017 as an entry-level closed cockpit sports prototype, which places itself between Group CN and the LMP3 cars, with the aim of introducing people to drive and run a sports prototype. During these years the futuristic looking car developed by the French company has undergone some power upgrades and improvements.
The JS P4 is built around a carbon monocoque and crashbox by HP Composites, respecting the LM P3 safety regulations. Behind the driver there's a naturally-aspirated, 3.7-litre Ford V6 from the Cyclone family, the Duratec 37, which is able to produce 385 hp and revs up to 7,000 rpm. The V6 is linked to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Total weight of the JS P4 is approximately 920 kg.
The car is eligible for different national series and endurance events like the Ligier European Series or the Creventic 24 Hours Proto Series and the V&V Endurance Series but it ca also be used during track days.
Watch and hear two JS P4s I recorded in the last few years during some test days by Kateyama at Misano World Circuit!

So basically - this machine is equipped with a Ford Mustang engine with the weight of a Toyota AE86 and the power of a Dodge Charger R/T and the shape of an LM Prototype.
Mustangs have a 3.7L V6?
@@speedymouse2859 And 4 cylinder since the 1980s since the Foxbody days ... are you new to this? 😅
The very first generation in 1960s had Inline-6 by the way 😆
The Cyclone V6 has been discontinued since the mid 2010s. It's a real shame. The Cyclone was a great, reliable, affordable, and reasonably cheap to maintain engine compared to the awful 4-cylinder Ecoboost that replaced it.
@@speedymouse2859 yeah, and they're no slouches eithers. A few bolt-ons and you've got a surprisingly good machine
That rear end reminds me a bit of the panoz abruzzi gt2 ^^
I'll miss the lmp3 V8.
As a frenchie it feels good to see finally a good looking car !
Where is it? Because that thing is beyond ugly
Sounds great 😃
Looks like a hypercar version of the KTM X-Bow GT4
The Ford 3.7L V6 always sounds good for a V6
It's gorgeous sounds great but damn Ford y'all can get over 400 HP with that engine rev the mfer out
@@jstewlly4747, it's built for a balance of horsepower, torque, longevity, and ease of maintenance. It doesn't need to rev especially high.
I still want Radical.
650Hp in race car around 100k is one of best choices.
Rush SR even more affordable fun.
@@BBoyBFit Yeah like Radical SR3 some are under 50k with good 300Hp 2.0L Turbo engine.
@@joe125ful Loved Radical for years with the development of those Hayabusa V8's. They just sound beautiful.
@@BBoyBFit Agreed.
Very very beatiful car!!!
Not bad😎
Sadly these type of car is only available on race track. Why cant the world be fully cool.
If I had more than enough assets, more than enough driving technique and more than enough connections, I would definitely buy this machine as a driving trainer.
Please note that this is just an assumption and there are no plans for the assumption to become reality.
oh wow interesting 🤔 in which category does this prototype participate???
interesting, sounds a bit like a Ford GT LMGTE
Similar displacement and same firing order
The sounds quite a bit better thanks to the lack of turbos. It just needs an X-pipe and a louder exhaust.
What category does this thing run in?
Best channel
This are closed bodywork prototype is called LMP4.?
Too many is'es and are's😂
McLauren affiliated? 😮
It's horrible.
"Entry level"🤣😅😂
Gawd it sounds Awful. Looks good though!
Are you deaf?
Lol. It sounds exactly like an old 911. If this had Porsche badges on it, people would be gushing about the sound.
@@flyingphoenix113lol it really does sound exactly like an old 911
For me it sounds like a more drone-y and less rev happy 1st gen NSX. V6 notes are an adquired taste, defo
Just grow balls and get a bike ffs 😁 🏍️
