    I saw something like this a few years ago and decided to try it. The amount of skin that came off that first time was disturbing but satisfying. It's nowhere near as bad anymore because I keep up with it, but it still gets a surprising amount of skin off. And it's lightened the dark parts of my skin like under my arms. I definitely feel a lot cleaner

    I am 72 years and has been using the Korean wash cloth for about two years. This is what I've discovered since using it. My skin is extremely soft, I don't smell strong after I sweat especially under my arms. I learn not to rub hard and don't use it ofter just once a week or I would take off skin. I oil my skin afterwards. The another benefit is I look younger.

    In reality, this is an old technique from the Maghreb, which consists of using hand soap on the body, it will then be easier and more effective when you come to rub it with the hand washcloth. Rub several times, and do not hesitate to rinse then start again until there is no dead skin ( idk how we say it, but in French we say : peau mortes💀 ! ). Finally, use a gentle and moisturizing shower gel, to soothe the skin and avoid redness. Your skin will be smooth for a very long time, but don't do this every shower, do it once every 2 weeks, otherwise you will create red patches on the skin, and it will hurt, haha !
    ( I'm French, so my English is poor, I hope you can understand me ☺️! )

    This is why we use a rag (that we wash after each use) to shower. You have to get rid of the dead skin cells or they just sit on your skin until you exfoliate it off. Whenever we exfoliate with these, it never does that, because the rag is gently exfoliating us each time.

    I'm a Korean. I used to use this every week but no so much any more. We call this 'Italy towel' in korea. I heard that the cloth is from Italy.
    I find it kinda funny that it is getting popular in the western culture now because in Korea, a lot of dermatologist recommend not to use this towel since it can destroy skin barrier. I guess that is why I dont use this as often now.Doctors would always say "western people never exfoliate as aggressively as Koreans do." I wonder what they will say after seeing this.
    Anyway, the proper way to use this towel is to soak your body for 10~15min. to soften dead skin and use a tiny amount of soap with the towel to make exfoliating easier.
    Happy exfoliating!

    • @boinkadoinkk
      @boinkadoinkk 6 місяців тому +12

      actually I’ve noticed that it’s easier to exfoliate without soap - just using water is the most effective because it’s easier to get the ‘clumps’ of dead skin when you still have your skin’s natural oils. I definitely agree with soaking though. I usually exfoliate at the end of my shower (after washing hair) and then wash away all the dead skin clumps with cleanser after. This way whatever cleanser you use will also benefit your skin even more, especially if it has an active ingredient like hyaluronic acid or salicylic acid, etc.

      @@boinkadoinkkyeah I noticed I have to soak for it to come off & it works better without soap, so I usually end up soaping up twice. Once when I first get it then once after I exfoliate. I use my hands & nails to do it tho so it takes so long, cuz every exfoliating brush or towel I’ve used so far is too ruff for my skin & hurts me 😭

      Im North African and this washcloth we call it '' kessa '' and we used it for i don't know how much time but a lot of centuries for sure (maybe in another tissu or design) but i recognise this model in the video, it exists in green, red.. And i use it in hamam each week (romain bath) since i was child, my mama used the same model too... So i don't know, if it's really Italian and we was highly influenced by Romains or it's originally north african (berber) and they took it from us!
      In both possibility, it's a wonderful thing to the skin, for our wellbeing! The best thing in the world is to being clean and healthy, exfoliating not only for dead skin, it's good for drainage and blood circulation too!
