The Boks respect Wales. The 50 point drubbing that happened before the RWC was very unusual, and Wales are a proud nation. I don;t expect an easy game.
Hendrikse is the next utility back like Francois Steyn in their eyes. Cerebral multitasker that will go with their 6/2 7/1 splits and Ngomezulu will definitely get a chance in 2nd half as well.
No South African expects a hammering of the Welsh. Warren Gatland recently said his focus at the moment is not to win, but build a team that's hard to beat. He's achieved that with past Welsh teams and I expect this new iteration to be hard to beat too.
I think Springboks chose a strong team because we know that Wales is still a formidable opponent and Wales are building themselves for 2027/2031 World cups. Best of luck to both, I'll be in Green and Gold 😅
Wales team seems to be about creating depth. The yardstick then becomes who can perform at this level. If Gatland gets 2 clear answers he has got what he needed.
If Wales do not fuck up, this team will be great next world cup, just got a few years of building experience through hurt, and I think the hurt will start this Saturday. but they need to stay the path or they will be the new Italy?
All respect to Wales. They are always a challenge for the Boks. You should come to visit SA with Tim. Would love to buy you both a beer. Love both channels, thank you for the time you put in.
Springboks are not playing people from Europe, bulls and England leagues. It is a development team, but development is being done gradually. They are blooding 2 flyhalves but supporting them very substantially. They are also shaking out cobwebs from Japanese basex players.
There are some players like Marx & Kwagga that are returning from injury and had to have a hit out before Ire. Others have not played for a couple of weeks and this is a change to get some cohesion with new systems and approaches. I think it was always going to be a strong team selection regardless of any point-making....
# of caps means nothing; compare the caps in the losing Leinster team to the young Bulls team in the URC semi last weekend. Hope the Boks manage a win and a good one mainly to hit Gatland between the eyes for being a consistent jerk about the Boks and not showing them respect.
Wales are a proud rugby nation and I expect the players will individually and collectively step up. Springboks supporter here and definitely not writing off Wales. My mom being Welsh (and secretly supporting them even against the Boks!) means I want to see Wales regain their rightful spot in world rugby. This game is where they start that journey.
I think Rassie's grooming Hendricks as a replacement for Pollard. There is room for both Libbok and Hendrickse, Rassie has shown that they will always pick the team they think will do the job against their opposition. It all depends on how the Bok want to play.
I don’t think the Boks will go out there to destroy Wales. Will be more of a test combinations. Practice the new game plan with Tony Brown. Will like to see how that goes! We actually watching history. For the first time in history we watching a kiwi attack coach in the Springbok setup
There was a time when the Boks just couldn’t win the AB’s. When one of the AB’s superstars couldn’t play, it helped nothing cause they just replaced him with a new superstar. Boks feel at the moment a bit like that 🫡👏
Ten from starting for SA in W Cup final not in cause outside the test window plus Bulls not available; Kitshoff, Bongi, Malherbe, Siya, Vermeulen, Pollard, DeAlende, Arendse, Cheslin, Willie. Hope Wales puts up a good fight. If the score favours the boks it would be nice to see Grant Williams no.9 and Sasha F-Mngomezulu no.10 get 30 minutes. Rassie at W Cup fired up the Springboks and fans when ye said "We know something that they do'nt know". The Welch though now know something and this is Ox Nchu's scrumming power ! So Henry Thomas and his replacement will on Friday night go to bed early, but they won't sleep !
TBH the guaranteed Bok starters in this team at full strength are Malcolm, Eben, PSDT, and Jesse. At full strength the other guys would either be replacements or not in the team.
It's going to be a tough game. Wales have sucha rich histiry and are a proud rugby nation. I think the Bok side is exciting, but also excpect soem nerves from the new guys. Looking forward to Saturday. Libbk, IMHO, is on the outer. The young 10's in Nohamba, Hendrikse and Shasha Ngmonezulu Feinberg ( we call him Bob for short on our chat group) are better rounded.
My worry is for the Welsh pack - they look both light and light on experience. The backline looks quite exciting - albeit some combinations untried - and that bodes well for the future. Currently light showers forecast for Saturday. 🤞for a good Welsh performance
Ireland just finished a full six nations playing as a team....boks...zero games after world cup. That's all it is yo....boks have one game to prepare...get the rust off. go boks!
While i don't expect Wale sto roll over I just cannot see them troubling the boks at all this weekend Worse is the fact that i doubt they will even trouble Australia in the 2 test series following W.Gatland looks to be using the summer as a talent finding exercise I just hope he can come up with a descent 23 by the Autumn otherwise Wales are ;looking at a completely winless year

it was wales b
@@subbie5498 is this Wales A team?
That was not A team boks by way did that to wales before wc !😅😬

You don't think that is SFM? Maybe both?

Well said! Wales are tough buggers. Will be a great test.
I think Springboks chose a strong team because we know that Wales is still a formidable opponent and Wales are building themselves for 2027/2031 World cups. Best of luck to both, I'll be in Green and Gold 😅
Welsh rugby great with great supporters but I cannot see them beating the Springboks. I am South African and wish for a great game.

You right Wales off at your Peril, full of youngsters whom will want to make a statement...🇿🇦
WRITE, not RIGHT🤣
@@ColinAnderson-hy2oj I stand corrected

Great cover, and I agree Springbok are showing respect by fronting up to Wales. And I don't think it's going to be a run away score.

Expect more changes for the Portugal games .. but again not wholesale changes, rather blooding a few key players with lots of support around them.
A new pundit talking rugby I love it ps loved your honesty

If Wales loose within 40. That is a win for them!

Saffa here..but l really hope Wales pull a rabbit out rhe hat!! and put up a great show.(my grandmother was Welsh,..thats why)
We Bok fans and Rassie and co won't forget Japan, Cape Town and Washington any time soon. We never expect an easy win against Wales.
It was Bloemfontein, not Cape Town. But you're right, won't forget it soon!!
@@louisnel1922 you’re right, I was thinking about the 2017 Irish defeat in the rain by mistake. I meant Bloem.
Won’t be easy for us. Big competition for 80 mins. Wales are fighters, no surrender. New NZ attack coach, new game plan. No mystery over selections.
Wales is a proud rugby nation. Irrespective this will be a tight game.
I've heard a lot of people thinking the Boks will smash Wales. I really think it's going to be closer than people think. Bok fan
For sure .Wales will put up a better contest than Ireland.
TBH the guaranteed Bok starters in this team at full strength are Malcolm, Eben, PSDT, and Jesse. At full strength the other guys would either be replacements or not in the team.
The games done when the ref says so. Wales could come out and bliksem our boys. Who knows ✌🇿🇦
I think Libbok is gone after that. game against Glasgow
8:35 did you mean Sam Warburton?
Wales vs Springboks is always great hard rugby.
Gatland usually first focuses on being a hard team to beat.
Id really like to see Masuku at 10 against Portugal
If you've played rugby then you will know that the moment you think you gonna have it easy, you get a nice nasty bite on the rear end.

Avoid underestimating the Welsh team; history has demonstrated their capability as a squad.
More similar than damian
Test match rugby is never decided on paper. Whoever arrives with the greatest hunger will win. The end...
108-12 to the Boks
Honestly I could see it
I've been saying that at best this is a 50 point win at worst wales are set for a new all time highest loss
