England fan here. I would only argue with Barrett. I think Pollard is the best 10 in the world right now, SA do rotate, but when he plays (invariably in the big games) he is always outstanding.
Springbok fan here, and I have to disagree over Pollard. I love the guy and have utmost respect for what he has done over the years for us, but he is a shadow of what he used to be. Take his goal kicking out of the equation and he is pretty poor. The only game where he was forced to be the playmaker (and yes, I say forced intentionally) was the second test against Ireland where we lost Willie le Roux early. Kicked 8 from 8 in that game and we lost because we had no backline whatsoever. Kicked the ball dead from the kick off, ending in 3 points to Ireland; ruined an attacking opportunity by chipping the ball straight down the throat of the inexperienced fullback, butchered an overlap by firing the pass at Kolbe's shins, kicked the goal line drop out directly to Connor Murray who passed it to the guy who kicked the drop goal.... kicked 8 from 8 but still cost us the game. Way too many mistakes to be considered the best 10 this year and that was just one example and one game. Strangely enough, the standout 10 for me this year was Marcus Smith from your team.
Kiwi here. Would argue hard for Codey Taylor at hooker this year. I've found him to be inconsistent previously but this season, every game he was on point. Wouldn't pick BB at 10. Albernoz was fantastic, probably most consistent of the players who had regular starts. On DDA, I never used to rate him. After the past few years, nail that world 12 jersey on him. Incredible player.
Codey Taylor would be my choice as a Bok fan, or Mauvaka. Would pick Marcus Smith at 10 although agree Albernoz (is that how it's spelled?) is a good call as well. Also don't agree with Ardie. He was nowhere near his normal form this year.
@Karma-qt4ji Marcus Smith is a fair call, but I have a little mind block on him. During the July tests, England could've won those and i thought Smith didn't do enough with the opportunities his forwards earned. Looked great at the end of the year tho. Ardie, I kind of agree, but I still thought he was worthy(bias maybe) . He started slow, less flashy, more grind, particularly while we had locking partner issues. We really missed Whitelock clearing rucks and moving bodies, particularly in SA, so loosies had to do more in there. By the end of the season tour, he had more opportunities in the loose.l
considering your XV - my bench (6/2) 16. Marx - (or Sheehan if he wasn't injured) 17. Porter 18. Atonio considering Malherbe hasn't played much rugby since June. 19. RG Snyman 20. Wallace Sititi 21. Kwagga Smith 22. Cam Roigard 23. T Ramos
Agree no 10 stood out but if you playing a world cup final tomorrow, then Pollard gets the call and for that alone i would select Pollard... Barret definitely not the pick for me, even the ABs not comfortable with him at 10
Can’t disagree too much. Some players I thought deserved a mention at least: Jack Willis, Chocobarres, Matera, Darcy….and probably a few more I’ve forgotten
Grant Williams over Dupont, because the latter has hardly played for France - albeit his performance in the ECC Final was phenomenal. But Grant has had excellent impact and has risen to first choice 9 at the Boks - with his lightning pace and kicking game. Also, Albarboz over Beaudy.
@jameswyatt4443 Nah..in what sense? You know what..If Springboks didn't rotate as much I would argue that It would be Arendse easily. Arendse is the better player overall. I don't even think Clark should Start for the ABs at wing.
@ Clarke was amazing this year for the ABs. 7 tries in his first 5 games this year. He a poor autumn. He was amazing in Super Rugby, but you probably don’t watch, he scored a hat trick in the final.
Who makes it in from France with his pack on year's form? Mauvaka maybe but honestly Taylor should be there then Mauvaka doesn't make it. French locks? Nah. Don't think any of the props are getting in and the back row there's an argument against playing Savea out of position but on year's form, he makes it into my team. I personally think Doris is over rated but Alldritt, has he had a better year than Doris? I'd actually have picked Savea at 8 and someone else on the flank like Kolisi but I guess Grégory Alldritt could be picked on the flank.
Excepting of course rugby is no longer a 15 man game is it ..A match is played by 23 always so any all time best should include the 8 best benches..I would question too Du Ponts inclusion..if players are disqualified from your selection due to rotation surely same applies if they haven't played much Test rugby at all.
Hi there enjoy Ur Content going-to be honest with U not English Rugby's Biggest-Fan (I guess mostly cos of brand of Rugby they Play) + also never saw wot all the hype around Marcus Smith was but for me this Year he's been England's shining light he's been one of the more consistently Good Players for England & one of the consistently Good Fly-halves this Year for me both D'Mac & Barret have had off-days @Fly-half, Pollard has also consistently good as he usually he is but Marcus Smith has also had more Game-changing moments & Argentinian Fly-half has also been good but for me Marcus Smith was the most solid Fly-half this Year in-terms of his Performances!!!! Side-note not very many French-Players in Ur World 15 & also dnt feel Will Jordan has played enough for NZ @Fullback yet to make a World 15 but tht's just my thoughts for me when people are creating a World 15 & become unsure of a Position they just chuck-in NZ-Player cos they hve NZ-Players tend to hve a lot of Amazing-Moments (especially Backline-Players)!!!!
Darren Sheehan at 2, Mauvaka also good. But Marx all time best. Flyhalf is a real head scratch. Marcus Smith probably the most exciting, and most consistent nr 10. Back 3 must be Kolbe, Ramos and Will Jordan. Telea on the bench
Obviously your year is just based on few games and not a complete season so it would be more honest to call it "My best team in international games in 2024".
No Ramos, no Cros, no mauvaka. What ? BB at 10 What ? Will jordan overrated. It's like the top rugbypass100 released a few day ago, too many players from the southern hemisphere, specifically SA. it's based more on reputations than on actual form and skills. As well as on players in a specific game system rather than their individual performances , abilities and/or skills. France players largely underrated. See you in 2025 guys.
The Southern Hemisphere teams are just better. Historically and this year. SA went undefeated in the north but you think the players from there are better?
I usually quite like your videos as I think they often offer a nice point of view. But rarely have I seen such blindness towards the French from you. Not a mention in the introduction (not a good 6N I reckon but still finished 2nd and only 2 defeats in the year including one in Argentina with B side), not a mention for Mauvaka (maybe not ahead of Montoya but at worst 2nd spot overall). The locks !!!! Ever heard of Flament ? Meafou ? Will Jordan is a great winger but I reckon an average 15. That being said, I mostly agree with the team overall (especially at 10, hard pick) but just wanted to react as I wonder if you sometimes get to watch any French rugby except in the Hcup or 6N.
How many starts did BB have at flyhalf?? DMcK has been the go-to man!! HP undoubtedly the best flyhalf in world rugby today. Who is your world class goal kicker, BB? I don't think so!! Thanks for a great year of rugby discussion!!
England fan here. I would only argue with Barrett. I think Pollard is the best 10 in the world right now, SA do rotate, but when he plays (invariably in the big games) he is always outstanding.
Avez vous vu la saison de MAUVAKA et de RAMOS.
@@thierrythomas6814Pollard!!!!!!!
agree, Beauden should not be there really.
Springbok fan here, and I have to disagree over Pollard. I love the guy and have utmost respect for what he has done over the years for us, but he is a shadow of what he used to be. SA fan here. Sititi above Ardi for this year of Rugby for me. Smith above BB. Roigard above Du Pont. And how Kriel is not here in beyond me
You lost me at your reasoning for Du Pont. This is an international XV, so it's weird that you had to force him in
considering your XV - my bench (6/2)
16. Marx - (or Sheehan if he wasn't injured)
17. Porter
18. Atonio considering Malherbe hasn't played much rugby since June.
19. RG Snyman
20. Wallace Sititi
21. Kwagga Smith
22. Cam Roigard
23. T Ramos
Great team selection. As you say, some positions didn't feature obvious, absolute stand-out players.
Agree no 10 stood out but if you playing a world cup final tomorrow, then Pollard gets the call and for that alone i would select Pollard... Barret definitely not the pick for me, even the ABs not comfortable with him at 10
Are you saying Beauden Barrett is a bad player?
@jazminmendosa7233 never, he is a wonderful player but just not 1st pick at 10 of a global team
Can’t disagree too much. Some players I thought deserved a mention at least: Jack Willis, Chocobarres, Matera, Darcy….and probably a few more I’ve forgotten
Good looking team with Barret at the helm 👌
Grant Williams over Dupont, because the latter has hardly played for France - albeit his performance in the ECC Final was phenomenal. But Grant has had excellent impact and has risen to first choice 9 at the Boks - with his lightning pace and kicking game. Also, Albarboz over Beaudy.
Nah definitely not grant. It would have to be Gibson Park
Tadgh Beirne plays for Munster not Leinster
7 should be JVDF , with the ball there is no one better.
1 Ox
2 Taylor
3 Lomax
4 Eben
5 Beirne
6 PSDT
7 Kolisi
8 Doris
9 JGP
10 Ramos
11 Kolbe
12 DDA
13 Kriel
14 Clarke
15 Mallia
Arendse over Clark all day everyday.
@ Not based on this year. Arendse is a better winger but this is a team of the year, and Clarke had a better year overall.
@jameswyatt4443 Nah..in what sense? You know what..If Springboks didn't rotate as much I would argue that It would be Arendse easily. Arendse is the better player overall. I don't even think Clark should Start for the ABs at wing.

BIELLE BIARREY over Clarke and ALLENDE.
MAUVAKA over TAYLOR
DUPONT over JGP.
Great ..go along with Huw Jones...most underrated player
Not many French forwards - how come?
Who makes it in from France with his pack on year's form? Mauvaka maybe but honestly Taylor should be there then Mauvaka doesn't make it. French locks? Nah. Don't think any of the props are getting in and the back row there's an argument against playing Savea out of position but on year's form, he makes it into my team.

François Cros deserves a mention
Mauvaka is the best hooker, and the best flanker and probably the best inside center
Safe team.
I think satiti should be in there and I think Jesse Kriel should be 13.
2. Malcolm Marx
3. Frans Malherbe
4. RG Snyman
9. Grant Williams
10. Sasha Feinberg Mgomezulu
11. Kurt Lee Arendse
13. Jesse Kriel
15. Willie le Roux
Excepting of course rugby is no longer a 15 man game is it ..A match is played by 23 always so any all time best should include the 8 best benches..I would question too Du Ponts inclusion..if players are disqualified from your selection due to rotation surely same applies if they haven't played much Test rugby at all.
I would have gone for Jack Willis in place of Ardie even though he does not play international rugby he is that good.
Barrett in 10. Dont think so
Hi there enjoy Ur Content going-to be honest with U not English Rugby's Biggest-Fan (I guess mostly cos of brand of Rugby they Play) + also never saw wot all the hype around Marcus Smith was but for me this Year he's been England's shining light he's been one of the more consistently Good Players for England & one of the consistently Good Fly-halves this Year for me both D'Mac & Barret have had off-days @Fly-half, Pollard has also consistently good as he usually he is but Marcus Smith has also had more Game-changing moments & Argentinian Fly-half has also been good but for me Marcus Smith was the most solid Fly-half this Year in-terms of his Performances!!!!

People need to chill out. It's a good team. Would this be my team? No. But still a good team.
What do u know
Darren Sheehan at 2, Mauvaka also good. But Marx all time best. Flyhalf is a real head scratch. Marcus Smith probably the most exciting, and most consistent nr 10. Back 3 must be Kolbe, Ramos and Will Jordan. Telea on the bench
Dan Sheehan over Marx😂. We all saw how Dan Sheehan looked against Marx😂
If you take Anton but not Frans Malherbe then your reasoning is wrong. JGP was all round the better scrumhalf throughout the year.
Obviously your year is just based on few games and not a complete season so it would be more honest to call it "My best team in international games in 2024".
Rugby is now a 23 player game so 15 is out of date. Handre Pollard is far superior to Barrett.
You have tk have both Jesse and Damian in the centres no better pairing in the world.
Russel much better option than Barrett
Du pont has played enough and Pollard hasn't...
Exactly, I think his biased is showing in that pick
No Ramos, no Cros, no mauvaka. What ? BB at 10 What ? Will jordan overrated. French players will get in the top 14 team of the year
The Southern Hemisphere teams are just better. Historically and this year. SA went undefeated in the north but you think the players from there are better?

Give us your team. To be fair, i think a 23 man squad is more realistic
Terrible call at 7, 9, 10, 13 and 15, you are normally much better than that
Dupont the goat
How many starts did BB have at flyhalf?? DMcK has been the go-to man!! HP undoubtedly the best flyhalf in world rugby today. Who is your world class goal kicker, BB? I don't think so!! Thanks for a great year of rugby discussion!!
stupid SH selection
I DON'T like this list
