I own this watch as a beater... I paid $25 for it. Walked by it in a store, saw the price and had seen a review done by a watch channel on youtube. And I'll tell you, I'd be hard pressed to find a watch with this level of quality for the price (even at $40 or $50). It's been great, I've really been beating on it. Before the weather turned, fished with it, swam in the ocean, showered with it, and its held nicely. For someone looking for something to wear when they don't want to beat up a more expensive watch, when they dont want to be a target with money on their wrist, or just for someone who wants a great watch at a very inexpensive price, It would be hard to find something better.
I have this watch. It is losing less than 2 seconds per month! Nice and clear. I have used it SCUBA diving. My best bargain purchase in a long time. The mineral crystal may be softer than a more expensive watch, but in a few years when the battery dies, and the crystal gets some scratches and the band gets weak, I can buy a new one for less than price of a service on a more expensive watch. I really like this watch.
I wear my Duro on a Bond Nato strap and it looks like a more important or higher grade watch. I really appreciate all the positives it has to offer considering its price range. A very good choice for a quartz beater!
I bought one after watching some other reviews. (Nick Shabazz, TGV). Your review is nice and clear. Your voice is easy to listen to, and the camera work and sound are fine. This watch is an amazing value. People who know a little about watches often think it is a much more expensive watch. (Those who know a lot about watches recognize it.)
I have the new Duro MDV 107 without the Marlin. I think it is truly captures the essentials of the watch. Clear dial without any Marlin logo, they also improved the watch by give the applied indices in the dial which we can't see in the Marlin. Both of them are cool, Marlin is iconic, MDV-107 capturing the essentials of this type. But I need to replace my strap to a tropical rubber strap, it's totally a perfect beater watch now.
I also used to be a mechanical watch detractor, but as I progressed further in my journey, I began to appreciate the simplicity, ruggedness, and accuracy of quartz. I now own a Grand Seiko with a 9F and an earlier Omega Aqua Terra with a Cal. 1538, and they were well worth the money. My GS is my favorite watch and holds a spot in my rotation above my other Swiss or Japanese pieces. This MDV106 is such an amazing value. For $45 as of this comment, I can get an MDV106 or a DW5600. So for less than the price of a nice dinner, I can get a watch that's tougher than I am? I think that's a great deal.
I have one and love it( this is my second, first one was stolen) The watch is ruff and can easily take a daily wear beating (surprised it's not a GShock) I highly recommend as a fantastic intre level dive. You get so much for the price point.
I got one too, and I have to say I am more than happy to wear it everytime. It is the best bang for buck watch I ever bought. I absolutely agree with your opinion about quartz watches, nothing wrong owning a quartz watch especially if it is so well made like this one. I changed the resin strap to a nato vintage and I can't stop adoring the look. It is a tank for a watch. There is every reason for owning it. Great review here, tells everything you want to know about this wonderful diver!!!
Glad I ran across a video about this watch. I was about to spend more for a Submariner clone. Not a watch geek, so I've never heard of this particular Casio model before. It deserves to be sold everywhere you can purchase a watch. Had to order mine on line. Local stores just don't seem to carry it. They carry just about every other Casio but not this one for some reason.
This really is a great watch. I got one maybe a year ago and I wear it quite a bit. I do construction so I'm impressed with how well it's held up. I've got a few other watches that I kinda rotate on weekends but this one is my daily beater. If it dies I'm gonna buy another one.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Hi guy, I got the watch today and so far I like the look and feel. The bezel lines up perfectly on each number. No flaws on it anywhere. So glad I got a good one. Happy New year!
Splendido orologio, che vale molto, ma molto di più del prezzo che costa! Casio, ha fatto un capolavoro a cui tutte le tasche possono accedere. Bravi! 👍
I to have one of these watches. I’m quite happy with it. I’m a hobby bladesmith , and this watch is pretty much my every day wear watch. I’ve had it about three months , and even wear it while forging steel. To date , it’s been holding up beautifully. I’ve got a couple more casios and other watches , but I like the way this one wears. And it’s damn tuff. Anyway , mine is. Nice video on them.
Great watch and value. Notice, second hand hits every minute marker dead-on, and the bezel lines up perfectly. (unlike that other nog Japanese brand)). Nice review!
Just received mine, today, from California, (In a crappy cardboard box) it's mega comfortable on my 7.5 inch wrist! Love the band, even if it is a wee bit short. The lume is not in the same league as the SKX007 I recently bought, but the wrist presence is pretty much the best of all my watches. It's relatively light compared to my Seikos, but for a new daily beater, I can't see it being 'beaten'!
i own this watch predecessor.... the 102, which is abit too small for some people but the Bezel looks much more interesting and more unique which dont look like a Sub homage. due to the markings on the bezel and has a LIGHT too! love that. it is long discontinued so finding a good condition one is more difficult for the 102
Thanks for the comments. It's a really nice watch, I think the best dive watch at the price point. Check out my SKX007 review, it's also an awesome dive watch. But if you don't want to go up to the $200 price range this Casio is an excellent choice.
I know the skx007 I live in Grenada so it's ah bit slow to get good watches I want to build a small collection on budget watches I've had my eyes on the Casio duro a while Now,Just trying to get the best opinion on it.
That makes sense. I really like the Duro, my other favorite Casio is the digital G-Shock model DW5600. In the same price range as this Duro. Both make for excellent daily wear watches.
Yeah, in the notes below the video I have a link to Amazon. I have an Amazon Associates account, so if you buy the watch through my link, I get a small comission. Between 4-5% of the sale goes to me and it doesn't cost you anything extra. It helps me generate a little money, which I get to use to buy new things to do review videos on. Here's the link if you can't find it, amzn.to/2kuyqtP and thanks for asking about that.
Another good review. I totally agree about quartz watches. I also feel that anyone who bad mouths quartz is not a person that one should follow their advice. I have the Duro and I love it. For me it is my watch of choice when I work out. It all depends what one plans to do with a watch. I travel a lot for business and I prefer to wear a GMT or a solar watch. Don't get me wrong, I also have automatic watches in my collection ; Oris, Alpina, Damasko, Breitling, etc.
There's something nice about being able to pick up a watch, put it on go, even if you haven't worn it in a little while - and know that the time is going to be correct.
Quartz have just as much soul as a mechanical. Maybe even more.Quartz crystal is a natural energy source.I appreciate mechanical and quartz.Mechanical for human ingenuity and quartz for our technological advancement.
Speidel 22 mm jubilee curved. Cheap and shiny. My first time doing a metal end link and I thought the wings were too big, so I bent them inward with needle nose pliers. Then I found out they were supposed to overhang the case. Duh. Fortunately, I could bend them back. Live and learn.
I like mine also. Couldn't believe the price for all the features. A little large for winter, under the cuff. more of a warm weather watch for me. nice video. keep em coming😉
Thanks for the compliment on the video. I didn't mention it but you're right, watches this size can be a bit large under long sleeve shirts. I rarely think about that, I live in Florida, it's always summer here!
I love this watch, it has the classic older Rolex Submariner design. I got the Pepsi Bezel model and put a nice stainless steel bracelet on it....now it looks like a classic luxury watch that people do a double take on. Casio makes nice watches and I do have several different models they offer, quality and affordability always wins.
You lucky folks in the U.S get tons of stuff at awesome prices imo. I live in New Zealand, and just today bought this watch in store in town and I paid $150......but I'm really happy with it regardless of price.
i like mine, i bought it because i wanted a watch i could count elapsed time on, much easier than adding an app to my phone to count down, the first thing i did when i got it was change the band to a black and grey nato strap now it looks like a bond watch, and the more i wear it the more i'm beginning to like it as a quartz watch its great but i'm still holding out for an older seiko dive watch, the bezel is great but it doesn't really remind me of a rolex or seiko it reminds me of my brother when i was a kid and he had his big leather 3 strap band with that big dive watch almost filling the 3 inch wide strap, i had no problem setting the date on it because i realized after the first time it has to be wound twice to change the date if you only turn it completely once it will change at noon the next day but if you do it twice it will change at midnight or around 11:30 which it is right now and its moving
I bought this watch on Amazon prime day and after all was said and done it cost me $23! My crown is actually smooth when pulled out and I find this watch is simply AMAZING at the sub $50 price point. The little touches with the finish, the action of the bezel, even the swordfish face logo is crazy quality. I have a few expensive watches but this is by far the BEST value watch I have!
That's a watch I'd use to do actual diving. Quartz may not be cool, but it's extremely reliable, so while I love mechanical watches, I think quartz is a better choice for diving. I don't like resin straps for daily use, but they're perfect for going over a dive suit. And at $60, you're not risking much by taking it out diving, if it gets broken or lost, oh well, get another. Heck, you could bring a spare.
I think this watch is not bad it looks beautiful. It would be awesome if casio should make one just like this one but automatic and include a better bigger crown
I received one today. It was £45 including shipping to the UK and it's an amazing watch for the money. The strap is nothing special but still way better than the awful nato strap and you can currently buy a Zulu Diver flat vent for £4 too.
Hard as Nails, ABSOLUTE Beast level is this thing. I’ve got two, pepsi 107 on a string of NATOs for work, and a black 106 on an Oyster, which totally elevates this thing so much so i’ve had people comment on my “nice Rolex”. I’ve owned premium tier pieces, and have learned SO much about watches over the years I’ve realised there’s no need for a stupidly expensive watch on the wrist, THIS does the same job for literally a fraction of the cost. This thing is 50 bux in most currencies $,€,£ so add that up, do the mathematics. A typical 11060 comes in at $12,000 one percent of which would be $120.00 so for less than 0.5% of the cost you get a DIVE watch equal in size, with a hermetic seal of 200 metres, that tells the time and the date with arguably a superior movement inside a case of 316L stainless steel, you can even time your laundry on this thing. It’s a mans watch and it’s ready for anything. My premium tier watches ? - SOLD… oh Btw, Both of mine lose a second every month or so.
Great review buddy , I have a modded 7002 with orange dial, but seriously considering buying the Casio , great little watch , I own all sorts including automatics, quarts and Invictas, don’t care what people say or think,, that’s the secret ,,buy what you like regardless of others views cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
i own both quartz and auto and even handwind mechanical watches..... each have their positive and negative aspects but do note, the japanese watches are really value good value for money! Seiko, Casio, Orient citizen etc... another watch brand i recommand is Maratac watches from USA , timex is another value for money brand
Hey Guy, maybe Casio are watching your channel. I just got one of these to replace my old beater and the bezel and crown grips are pretty good, the threading was fine too, certainly better than my SKX when I got it (granted, that's not a great feat).
Thanks for watching Doc, enjoy the Casio when you get it. Also consider checking out the Pulsar pxh227. It's similar style, but a bit smaller. I have one of those I'll be reviewing soon. If you like the larger size the Casio is for you though.
The last part is the best part side-by-side with seiko skx007k. That really showed the size difference but Seiko although smaller it's thicker so both are just equal. But this video made me finalize my decision not to buy this watch since i have a smaller wrist. I used to own the Seiko skx007k1 in high school & found it heavy & big. They say the casio duro is lighter than the seiko skx007k1 that would be a plus to it's downside if u don't want a heavy watch & have smaller wrist.
overall this is a very good watch for the price I had mine for about a year and then the bezel popped off to get a bezel replacement is about impractical since it actually cost almost as much as the watch cost
It's a bit of a deal this watch, recommend it. I think probably looks more impressive then my Seiko dive watch (a Submariner homage), a bit larger and cost about 1/4 of the price. Just another reason why Casio are my favourite watch brand.
I have collected watches now for about 30 years and my collection count now is close to 70. I have 3 Rolex's a few Omega's, 2 speedmasters. numerous 007 and 009's but my everyday watch is my Duro. 9 times out of 10 I am seen wearing my Duro. it's simple and always keeps great time. if a bang it on something..I don't cry over it. I don't have to set it everyday being quartz movement, and Water-resistant to 200 M (660 feet). Yes I dive...its the perfect working mens watch
$45 is nice price, here it is more like $120 equivallent and $150-160 for the version with stainless strap. And my EFA110D and EFA125D are around 2sec/month.
Casios are phenomenal watches. (They make $10 “water resistant” digitals that can withstand considerable depths and run for years.) As for this watch, the brushed on top and polished on edge is a nice feature, and surprising for a watch this inexpensive. And 120 counterclockwise bezel clicks. Looks great on a nato. Thorough review. How can you lose for $40?
Ah so under normal circumstances a watch that’s worth 40 bucks should not be worn so much? I’ll have to remember that when reaching for my invicta pro diver
Mine didn't come in a case, it just came on a cheap plastic display mount. This was my first wristwatch, but I had to part ways with it because 44mm is way too large for me. Lume is mediocre, as well. Not bad for $40 though. I would gladly buy a new one if they made it in a smaller size. I find it funny that you suggest that someone with an SKX might need a beater watch.
I'm by no means wealthy, so I kind of baby my Skx. Replacing a $200 watch would be an expense I'd like to avoid. I imagine there's plenty of people in the same boat with me.
I can certainly understand that. $200 isn't cheap for me either. The only reason that I spent that kind of money is because the SKX has such a reputation for reliability and durability. But replacing it would also be an expensive a hassle, and nothing takes knocks like a quartz watch.
bacchus lick knob, you make no sense bro, this is a DIVE WATCH, and its too large for you? you must have the arm of an 8 yr old toddler. Hint ALL dive watches are big, my wenger was 42mm and with the crown the DURO is 46, and i love it like all other purchasers. Get yourself a $13 timex and get a life
Nice looking piece. We're ripped off here in New Zealand! This Casio is selling for around $135. I have a "Switza" brand diver that looks extremely similar to this one, I paid $95 for it. SS case, mineral glass, 200mtr WR, smooth screw down crown, keeps time accurately and the hands, markers and bezel line up almost perfectly. It also has Swiss design quartz movement (by "Ronda"). For a "budget" Diver it's excellent quality imo, I love it...... even if it is an unknown brand. 💪😎
Long Island Watch does a great video on water resistance. The Duro, while it is an amazing value, is not a real “Dive” watch. To be labeled a Diver like your SKX it would need to be individually tested, and not be a quartz, among many other factors. Just an FYI. Nice review.
Certainly. I love mine. Great beater. For about $30 more, I wear an Invicta Pro Diver. Mine is unbelievably 15 second per MONTH! I sanded the center links with 1000 grit and it looks amazing. NH35 rules for the money.
Hi I have a question on your video production setup. First, thanks for listing your set up. I wanted to know how you record audio as the camcorder does not have an input jack. I see you listed a lav mic.... Also, I was wondering on your thoughts for the rest of your equipment, if you like it the lights, camcorder etc. or if you would change at all. Thanks in advance!
I have the mic plugged into my ipad (sometimes iphone) and use an app on there to record the audio. Then I bring the video and audio into Adobe Premiere Elements, and sync it up and mute the audio from the camera.
Regarding the other equipment, I'm pretty happy with it overall. The camera is very nice. If I had the money I might get the next model up but I'd stick with the Sony cameras, they have the widest lens out of the camcorders I had looked at. The lighting setup is good but it's bulky and a pain if you have to move it around. There might be some better options in regards to convenience but they work good.
I own this watch, and it is Great!!! Got 2 Citizen`s with Eco drive, gifted my Wife a Citizen with Eco Drive, This Casio Duro, and a Seiko 5 with Day & Date... That Seiko is Automatic... Just on more Watch!!! hahahah Great Hobby...
Great review!!! Well done! You published this on January 13 this year. Almost a year ago. What can You tell about that Casio after that time of use? Thank You! Best wishes! :)
Thanks for watching. I don’t have the watch anymore I sold it to a buddy. I have to cycle through a lot of watches to have new things to review. That said he still wears it and likes it quite a bit. He’s got a bigger wrist than I do so it works well for him.
I bought a Seiko dive $275 watch it looked just like that watch the only difference was the crown was offset to the 4 o'clock position and it had Swiss Movement so that means the second hand didn't Tech hard it almost swept it was an automatic and it didn't keep time for shit it would gain about five minutes a day this watch is actually better in my opinion first off it keeps perfect time because it's a battery powered quartz watch and a crown is in the normal place for a wrist watch so it doesn't dig into your wrist all the time and on top of that it's a whole lot cheaper I've been eyeballing these watches for a while and I think I'm going to buy one the only question I have is the rubber band on this watch oversized to go over a wetsuit or is it a normal size I guess it doesn't really matter because I'm going to replace it with a stainless steel bracelet anyway
Sometimes I read that quartz watches are only for people who are not really interested in watches. I disagree. It's great to have an accurate and reliable automatic watch, but for people on a budget I think quartz watches like this Casio are a better choice than 50 dollar or less Chinese watches. The problem with the crown is not very important in my opinion, since you will use the crown only once or twice a month. How different with my Seiko SKX, running +55 seconds a day now. Watch enthusiasts should not be so negative about quartz watches. It's just like someone who only wants a cathode ray tube as a screen for his computer instead of an OLED screen. Enjoy what you like! The only thing I don't like about this Casio is the play of the bezel. That's looks like a 12 dollar fake Rolex I bought in Thailand. Then I know why I still love my SKX.
I like Quartz watches, and especially some of the newer high accuracy quartz watches that keep time within +/- 10 seconds per year. I reviewed one such Seiko watch a while back. That level of precision is impressive to me.
Seeing these on clearance at Walmart for US $13 plus tax (June 2020). Absolute steal at this price. Was told by employee that they will longer carry these. Get one before they are gone.
Wanting to get this watch however when i search it in all i could find on amazon was this watch for £100+. Then i found this video and can see it is $40 on this amazon link. Can i trust this?
Joe Baker it's just turned up from Amazon international through the UK site, £44 plus £3 postage, today. Go for it, it's unbelievable value/ quality ratio, and I've just bought the legendary Seiko SKX007!
Yes, I paid $65 Canadian pesos delivered. That could be about 45 US$ depending on the time and the exchange rate to our petro-dollar.. The watch is great. I am can not understand how they can make such a great watch for this price with its accuracy. My friend has one also, and we both have better than two seconds per month accuracy. I am not guaranteeing that for every watch, but that is two. Also, I have dropped mine many times and it is still accurate.
Mechanical watches are nice as "romantic" objects, it's really interesting how such a primitive technology is still relevant today, and that deserves a huge level of respect, but as every-day-carry tools, quartz watches are simply superior in every single way, endurance, precision, cost-efficiency in general. If you find a quartz watch so well done, this reliable and that looks this nice, it's moronic to ignore it. Only the most ignorant snobs would not appreciate such a good timepiece as this Casio Marlin.
I'm not being an Alpha M idiot but I think it has a few design improvements over the Rolex Submariner. One, it doesn't have it's brand name plastered all over it as "security features." Two, the cyclops...either you like it or you don't. I'm leaning towards the plain crystal. Three, and this is a big one....all that stupid text written all over the face of the Rolex. Casio keeps it short and sweet. "Superlative chronometer? Who needs that written on the face of a watch? Why don't they write "really good expensive watch" on the face while there at it? An inferior designer would have added all sorts of crap to the watch. The Casio guys were smart. Put less stuff on it. Thank God they didn't etch Casio in the side of the case like Invicta did.
For only about 10-15 dollars more you have a Pulsar PXH091. Same water resistance, same date feature, a far better screw in crown and far more accurate. And it isn't even a diver.
Just checked that review :-). I think it adorns you that you review all sorts of brands and tiers. Few watch enthusiasts seem to care about Pulsar, but they are really worth the money. PS: The 'Japanese quartz movement' you speak of on their inside is Hattori-Epson most of the time. Very inexpensive, easy to obtain and replace (you can find them at Esslinger) Keep up your good work!
I have one of these and it is an amazing watch for under $50. Actually would be a very good deal at much more than $50. Unlike this reviewer I have no problems with the crown and the threads feel very smooth. (This from a retired mechanical engineer). I always find it amazing how nit-picky some people can be on products that are in no way expensive. I find nothing about this watch that I could expect to be better. I think just an amazing deal for less than $50.
I had no problem moving the bezel. As for the strap it is not a thing of beauty. A canvas / nylon strap with some red in it would 'catch' the red second hand.
I like many things about this watch and while I really want to like it I just don't find it appealing to the eye. That said for the money and the quality it really is a good bargain.
Sonho adiado.
It's probably the most affordable dive watch you can buy. The only downside is the lume. Then again, one can't have everything. I see the chapter ring is even aligned. Uhmm, Seiko can learn a thing or two from Casio.

Thanks for the comments. Well said.
I have this watch. It is losing less than 2 seconds per month! Nice and clear. I have used it SCUBA diving. My best bargain purchase in a long time. yeah it's really a great value. glad you're enjoying yours.
I wear my Duro on a Bond Nato strap and it looks like a more important or higher grade watch. I really appreciate all the positives it has to offer considering its price range. A very good choice for a quartz beater!
Which bond strap did you go with, the black/grey or the vintage bond? I bet it looks great on either.
I have both Bond straps but presently wearing it on the classic vintage one. Looks great!
I prefer the classic vintage too.
Many thanks for a very comprehensive and fair review. I love mine. Probably the best bang-for-buck amongst diving watches.
Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Excellent review - very thorough. A very good looking Diver for the price point. "Call it an homage....call it a knockoff..." Love it.
Is it a very close analog to a submariner, aesthetically? Sure, but I love it too.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews I think its size makes it look closer to the Sea Dweller than the Submariner.
If you cross a Duro with a Rolex ,you end up with a Durex.
I think you've got a solid business idea, start producing a Rolex/Duro homage watch.
Durex condoms were trash back in the day 😂😂
as my Pinoy friends would say: 'That's berry berry punny!'
Bang on! Casio should rename it to Durex!
I agree with you the very best in the world for price accuracy and comfort
Casio is genius in squeezing in all the good stuff in such a low price without compromising the quality.
Honestly, I like the look of the Casio much more than the Seiko.
The Casio more closely resembles a Rolex Submariner.
Agreed the Casio has a slightly more minimalistic/cleaner look.
I have one of these. Great value and a great watch. Thank you.
It was a surprise, definitely much nicer than I had expected.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
I have one and love it( this is my second, first one was stolen)
The watch is ruff and can easily take a daily wear beating (surprised it's not a GShock)
I highly recommend as a fantastic intre level dive.
You get so much for the price point.
Thanks for watching.
dmntuba entry would have been ok after all this is a cheap watch as some would say!
I got one too, and I have to say I am more than happy to wear it everytime. It is the best bang for buck watch I ever bought. I absolutely agree with your opinion about quartz watches, nothing wrong owning a quartz watch especially if it is so well made like this one. Sabin Chaulagain thanks for watching and the comments I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
This really is a great watch. I got one maybe a year ago and I wear it quite a bit. I do construction so I'm impressed with how well it's held up. I've got a few other watches that I kinda rotate on weekends but this one is my daily beater. If it dies I'm gonna buy another one.
Nice, good to hear it's still going strong after a year. Thanks for watching and the comments I appreciate it.
Very nice diver. I just picked it up on Amazon because of your video for $39.99 and I used your link. Thank you Sir.
Nice, enjoy it.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Hi guy, I got the watch today and so far I like the look and feel. The bezel lines up perfectly on each number. No flaws on it anywhere. So glad I got a good one. Happy New year!
@@JayzBeerz that's good to hear. It's a great watch, albeit I wish it was a bit smaller, but overall really nice.
Just got myself one about a week ago, after fighting the temptation for a while. My goodness, it is gorgeous :D
Thank you for comparing it side by side to the SKX, which made this video particularly helpful for me.
Great watch and value. Notice, second hand hits every minute marker dead-on, and the bezel lines up perfectly. (unlike that other nog Japanese brand)). Nice review!
Thanks
Just received mine, today, from California, (In a crappy cardboard box) it's mega comfortable on my 7.5 inch wrist! Love the band, even if it is a wee bit short. The lume is not in the same league as the SKX007 I recently bought, but the wrist presence is pretty much the best of all my watches. It's relatively light compared to my Seikos, but for a new daily beater, I can't see it being 'beaten'!
Congrats on the new piece. It's really an A+ watch, given it's price. Sure it's not "high end" but it's a super daily beater.
I love my Casio. If it had Seiko’s lume on it it would be my favorite watch.
I agree 100% with your view on quartz watches.
This watch is so good for the price! I have it in blue and I love it
Love mine too, wears so well and a big fan of Casio in general.
i own this watch predecessor.... the 102, which is abit too small for some people but the Bezel looks much more interesting and more unique which dont look like a Sub homage. due to the markings on the bezel and has a LIGHT too! love that. it is long discontinued so finding a good condition one is more difficult for the 102
Interesting I haven’t heard of that model I’ll have to look it up. Thanks for watching.
This watch is an exceptional value, I have one, and it's accurate to 2s per month.
Great review, mine on order, roll on Thursday :)
Thanks, report back with what you think.
Good review very detailed! Thanks and good job
Thanks for check out the review and for the feedback I appreciate it.
I like your honesty review you did on this watch i thinking about getting one.
Your said something about getting the watch ( Casio duro) on Amazon through your link can you tell me a little more about that
Yeah, in the notes below the video I have a link to Amazon.
Well put!
Carlos De La Cadiz well said
👍 i was about to say well said. HEHE 😁
That is some
Time piece poetry my friend,
Fluid words that defines love and value of both quartz and mechanical watches.
I liken the quartz/mechanical argument to the digital/vinyl record argument. Both are good, but for different reasons.
Great bargain watch, accurate, tough and not an identical Sub clone - it has its own look.
I love my Duro. I put a jubilee band on it, and it just pops.
Nice, what brand bracelet did you get that fit it?
Speidel 22 mm jubilee curved. Cheap and shiny. My first time doing a metal end link and I thought the wings were too big, so I bent them inward with needle nose pliers. Then I found out they were supposed to overhang the case. Duh. Fortunately, I could bend them back. Live and learn.
Cool glad it fit. Can be hard to find an aftermarket metal bracelet to fit watches I imagine.
😁warm weather watch that means it suits me i'm from Philippines. I better go buy one.
😁warm weather watch that means it suits me i'm from Philippines. I better go buy one.
They really should make a 39mm or 40mm.
Agreed, I like Quartz watches.
I think this watch is not bad it looks beautiful. It would be awesome if casio should make one just like this one but automatic and include a better bigger crown
I'm not sure, does Casio do an automatic watch? I've never seen one.
@@JustBlueFish thats why am saying it would be nice if they do i dont think they have automatic not sure
I received one today. It was £45 including shipping to the UK and it's an amazing watch for the money. The strap is nothing special but still way better than the awful nato strap and you can currently buy a Zulu Diver flat vent for £4 too.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Casio.
Great review buddy , I have a modded 7002 with orange dial, but seriously considering buying the Casio , great little watch , I own all sorts including automatics, quarts and Invictas, don’t care what people say or think,, that’s the secret ,,buy what you like regardless of others views cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
shaneweightman best comments I’ve seen so far!
i own both quartz and auto and even handwind mechanical watches..... each have their positive and negative aspects but do note, the japanese watches are really value good value for money! Seiko, Casio, Orient citizen etc... another watch brand i recommand is Maratac watches from USA , timex is another value for money brand
Agreed, good points all around. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Quartz is way more accurate than mechanicals. Love this watch.
It's a great watch for sure.
Hey Guy, maybe Casio are watching your channel. I just got one of these to replace my old beater and the bezel and crown grips are pretty good, the threading was fine too, certainly better than my SKX when I got it (granted, that's not a great feat).
Great video 😃🤙🏽 my next purchase to add to collection thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching Doc, enjoy the Casio when you get it. Also consider checking out the Pulsar pxh227. It's similar style, but a bit smaller. I have one of those I'll be reviewing soon. If you like the larger size the Casio is for you though.
great review!! the duro is a great diver
Yeah I thought that the side by side of those 2 would be helpful for folks to get an idea of what they can expect. Thanks for watching.
The very best cheap watch in the world for accuracy reliability.. comfort on your hand better than any big name brand out there.
overall this is a very good watch for the price I had mine for about a year and then the bezel popped off to get a bezel replacement is about impractical since it actually cost almost as much as the watch cost
Yeah I would imagine at the price point if something like that happens you're almost better off replacing the watch.
A watch lasting a year is hardly "durable"....
Great review. Thank you.
Jose Casillas thanks for watching.
I love the Duro, but found the dial to be a bit overly glossy. Still amazing fit and finish. I wear it way too often for a $40 watch!
It's hard to beat for $40 bucks!
Yeah that’s all true, but still hard to beat it for the price.
OK sounds good! Thanks! And are you happy with the camcorder and light setup? I'm just trying to find a budget level that looks good.
Cool
Thanks for watching.
Perfect watch by Casio
just bought it today . mine is mdv 105 , different on the bezel . cant find a video on it .
Tom Fiza I looked up pictures of the mdv105, it looks cool. I wonder if it's a new model, I haven't seen it before.
JustBlueFish found out made in 2009 . bought in an old watch shop in malaysia . maybe asia distributed model only .
Wanting to get this watch however when i search it in all i could find on amazon was this watch for £100+. Then i found this video and can see it is $40 on this amazon link. Can i trust this?
I paid about $45 for mine at a local store. The Amazon price sounds about right.
JustBlueFish do you know if this link on amazon is legit?
I assume it is, no idea why it wouldn't be. Amazon has an excellent return policy if you end up having an issue with the watch.
Can you use a 20mm nato band on this or No? Thank you
It has 22mm lugs, so a 20 would fit but there would be a gap. 22mm Nato straps would be preferable.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews u da man
Mechanical watches are nice as "romantic" objects, it's really interesting how such a primitive technology is still relevant today, and that deserves a huge level of respect, but as every-day-carry tools, quartz watches are simply superior in every single way, endurance, precision, cost-efficiency in general.
Thank God they didn't etch Casio in the side of the case like Invicta did.
drmodestoesq To be honest, I’d buy the $100 Invicta Submariner knockoff if it weren’t for that horrible INVICTA on the 9:00 edge. That’s just gross.
Bought one of these last week and mine came in the typical cardboard box. Still a great watch however
Very cool.
Really want one of these , have to pay double price to get one here in UK 🙁
Got my "gold" one yesterday, from Amazon...$40 USD......with Marlin....$40 USD
For only about 10-15 dollars more you have a Pulsar PXH091. Same water resistance, same date feature, a far better screw in crown and far more accurate. And it isn't even a diver.
I reviewed the Pulsar PXH227. I like that watch better. Very similar but a smaller size.
Very inexpensive, easy to obtain and replace (you can find them at Esslinger)
Keep up your good work!
I’ve never had any mineral crystal on any watch no matter how inexpensive that was cloudy or hard to see through or even remotely cloudy!
I had no problem moving the bezel. As for the strap it is not a thing of beauty. A canvas / nylon strap with some red in it would 'catch' the red second hand.
I like many things about this watch and while I really want to like it I just don't find it appealing to the eye. That said for the money and the quality it really is a good bargain.
your amazon link does not work
Thanks for the heads up I'll take a look at it tomorrow.
This thing costs €70 where I live. Fuck.
That's about $85 USD, a little high but not too bad.
Sonho adiado.
I won’t dive wearing a Rolex. I will wear a Casio.
Yan maganda
It's probably the most affordable dive watch you can buy. The only downside is the lume. Then again, one can't have everything. I see the chapter ring is even aligned. Uhmm, Seiko can learn a thing or two from Casio.
The date is not in center on you Seiko hmm
Love the duro 👍
Quartz watches can be very accurate
Strap is ugly, alternatives?
You can put any 22mm strap you want on it.
Bond Nato?
I found one, diving.
Literally the same quality as Rolex up until the mid-90’s. Put an automatic movement in it and charge the Rolex lemmings 10,000 dollars.
If they made this watch 40 mm they would have a great looking and selling watch ,44 is just too big for me !
How I wish the G-Sock strap was the same one :) But, nope.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
Pro tip: before reviewing a polished steel watch, wash hands with dish soap to remove grease off paws
You'll look at my smudges and like it!!!
People who say Quartz are a waste of money should go play with their abacus. Luddites!
I have no problem with quartz movements, but enjoy an automatic or mechanical all the same.
This is the watch that one of the richest men in the world wears... Bill Gates
So?
wear what you like , not about interesting in someone's wearing . that why you still poor man
Casio MDV106 is brill watch just wish i could get one in uk... no one selling then in uk... shame
There’s no Amazon.com in the uk?
JustBlueFish Yes but they don't sell everything. Which is annoying when you search for something and then you see its .com and not .co.uk.
That sucks. I buy on Amazon 90% of the time it seems.
seams amazon usa is a lot better than amazon uk
