2001 Jaguar XK8 - How important is this, prior to mounting the rims on the car?

I use Simple Green or Orange cleaner and a power brush mounted in my portable electric drill for all wheel cleaning.

Thank you Gary, I will look into Simple Green and Simple? Orange cleaner. I like the brush idea mounted to the drill, would that be a circular brush with plastic bristles?

I don't think it is overkill. Does not requires so much effort and might provides somewhat better contact. Anyone with a little time and passion for detail will dedicate time for that.
