- Doha Metro. Watch this video to see the world's most luxurious and modern Metro in action in Doha, Qatar.
Qatar Rail opened Doha Metro to the public officially on Wednesday 8th of May 2019. Ultimate Freggle went on a ride with the metro from al Wakra station to al Qassar station and back.
I had a good look around and you will find here the available ticket types, different cabin looks, and some parking information.
I also speak to some travellers on the Doha Metro to find out what they think about the Qatar Rail project.

I have lived in Doha for 9 years and been part of this project since inception. I have ridden the lines and been involved in the infrastructure development since Day 1 and have seen the stuff which people never see. The project is simply awesome and the extent of work unbelievable to deliver this great scheme. Now all I have to do is have a ride on it now its open to get the passenger experience. A great country and a privilege to live here.
What about the undepaid immigrant workers such as in construction not so great
Maybe.....maybe not......but I didn’t comment on anything to do with that. I commented on the project and the country. Every country has its difficulties if you look around the world. What you raise is for others to comment on if desired.

What do you do to avoid the nasty flickering that the GoPro Hero 7 Black produces when recording videos indoors under artificial lighting i.e. inside the metro train?
@@rozapavlova4131 I recommend trying to use ND filters on your camera. While recording this video these filters were not used though, and I did not notice a flickering issue.
@Budo Blue Are you sure?? I saw some hygienic measures being taken but have not seen official news about it opening again!
I've visited Doha 3 times now and I absolutely LOVE the city and the country. The subway is a very nice alternative to taxis especially at rush hour. Greetings from Finland!

Yes I heard the Metro is closed in the weekends to continue works to finish the rest of the lines and stations.. It would have been a very nice weekend trip to go and check it out. Hopefully in the future!

Amazing Qatar Metro.
I work for Marcegaglia Gulf in Qatar..and i've been personally designing the scaffolding inside the metro tunnel and the metro stations.. especially the red line.. it's amazing.. and finally we can have a ride on it! 😊.

From what I experienced now a days it's really Accessible and easy to hop from one to other destinations around Doha, I like the way they make it and all the station is amazing also the train is fabulous! Big thumbs up!

See I lived in Qatar for 11 years I am 15 years young btw I would say the metro is one of the best in the middle East and will help alot of people for going to work and enjoy the experience

I worked in Qatar way back in 2011 at Qatar Foundation. It was my frist time to work abroad. All I can say about Qatar is absolutely amazing place. I hope and pray that I can find a job again in Qatar. I am currently working here at Saudi Aramco as a Planner/Scheduler but unfortunately the end of our contract will be in May 2019 due to Saudization.

I visited Doha in 2006, on somewhat of a budget. It was absolute hell trying to get anywhere at all. Hopefully this will help.

Может там сидения обшиты дорогой кожей и алькантарой? А то я из перечисленных элементов роскоши ничего там не заметил. Там даже часы висят не Швейцарские, а электронные.

Its indeed a luxury train/metro. You can see the metro entrance is so elegant and the seats is made of fabric (I guess).. normal trains in most countries use just plastic build.

I was there 2nd day which is Thursday. Nice place & fun trip. I went from Al Wakrah to the last which is Al Qassey. I enjoyed the stops!

Times are a changing. Gone are the days when West has best infra. Now a days East has every luxury they need and more.

The big difference is where the rich eastern countries use under paid (and in some cases unpaid-) workers to build their mega projects. The west cares about human rights which makes it harder to do big projects, while countries like Qatar really don’t give a shit about human rights and treat their workers like animals. And looking at the total the west still has the best infrastructure, just a couple cities with good infra won’t make a big difference.
You motivated me to make a video on Qatar Metro. I stay just near Al Doha Al Jadeeda Metro Station .

I travelled from Corniche to Wakra in the Family class and it was an amazing experience...QR 2 for family and standard class whereas QR 10 for Gold class(pretty cheap isn't it?)...Looking forward to try the Gold class
