I bought it last month, i always loved pmd series and playing a remake of my first videogame (not only pokemon game) ever was so nostalgic and beautiful, also because the story is absolutely heartwarming, the music are perfect and I love the mechanics and gameplay. In terms of graphic this game is litterally perfection for me, it gives that magical and fiabesque atmosphere the original game had and more. I hope they won't let die this so magical and beautiful series.

@@Tribdinosaur It may be 25th, but the real comparison is that it only has 1/10th of the sales that Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee. I would absolutely LOVE a remake of Explorers of Sky, it's one of my Top 3 Pokemon games, but I'm not going to hold out too much hope :(
MTS Densetsu I hope that Nintendo will be able to consider the fact that anything Gen 1 is going to sell like hotcakes. It’s the favorite Gen of the demographic with the most purchasing power (80’s-early 90’s babies).

It's absolutely insane how a remake of a spin-off game has me more invested and excited than the newest main games. This one was an instant buy for me aftre I tried the demo back in winter. Have been a bit too busy to play it though (some of us never was quarantined cause essential work after all), but finally got to start my playthrough and enjoying every single bit of it.
Didn't play too much of it at first, but once the stay-at-home order hit my area, I started to get back into it and I got so hooked. Feels weird not to have feelings of nostalgia since I wasn't able to play the original versions lol
Yeah and it’s so hidden, I have no idea on when it auto saves so when I lost in a dungeon I didn’t want to soft reset because I didn’t know where it would take me :/
I used to be upset over not being able to walk around the friend areas but since they way raised the cap for recruiting there is no way they'd all fit without looking horrid. I prefer being able to recruit more than the one of each. Also I love the AI changes. I've been gummy grinding on online missions and I send my main partners out to go the other way and it clears the map soooo much faster. Plus switching leaders once one of them finds the stairs to save even more travel time is lovely. I did start making my main keep Let's Go Together as the tactic so they protect the baby recruits if I gotta switch to another. Like I'm not kidding how fast having them do that clears the dungeon. It also makes keeping the five recruits alive much easier because they are two spaces closer now.
Sky was the third version of Time and Darkness, right? That’s like the only one I never played but you keep hyping it up. Might have to give it a try if they don’t remake it. (: P.S. Yes Xenoblade above all else!
Yep, that's correct! Sky is widely regarded as the best among the fanbase, so I'd highly recommend it! (if you didn't play Time and Darkness anyway, it's almost the same as those two)

something awesome about the remake: size limits are no longer a thing. you can now mix and match any three pokemon for a team. and this does not impact your recruiting in dungeons at all. so you can have rayquaza forcing kyogre and groudon to work together

The plot and characters overall are great. The problem with Explorers is that the Guild has way too many members, causing many of them (like Diglett and Dugtrio) to receive way less attention than the others. The Expedition Society, meanwhile, is smaller and more compact, so we get time to know each of its members well. The plot twist, yeah. I was genuinely caught off guard when I first saw it. Unlike Dusknoir in Explorers, Nuzleaf has literally been with you through the entire game, and become your father figure. The twist felt a lot more personal than Dusknoir's twist. The partner was great too. Unlike the previous partners, they're anything but responsible, being a mischief maker whom no one really wants to hang out with. On the outside, they look cheerful and happy, but inside, they feel they're a burden to everyone around them, including the player. But they eventually grow up to become more responsible and brave. And again, it's the partner who understands this, once again proving that it's their story, not ours. Dark Matter was overall an awesome final boss with awesome music. And the ending... What a twist that was. "It's not you who has to go. It's me." This is the final nail in the coffin to prove that this was the partner's story. They even have the player character realize that they must return home now that their duty is done, kinda reflecting what experienced PMD players must be thinking of as well. And then everything is suddenly flipped upside down. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to feel anything right there. Excellent last second twist to the usual formula. As a bonus, the post-game quest to get the partner back is also good, making the moment of their return at the end feel all the more rewarding. Like I said, my favorite PMD game, without a doubt."
I havent played Super but from what ik, Super is the best as a game since it has the most refined gameplay other than DX and the most Pokemon but Explorers is the best as an experience due to the story
love these games so much. only problem i have is evolution being barred until post game. that is such a let down for me. it feels like i’m not progressing as much.
The original PMD red rescue team was my FIRST ever game i owned myself, aswell as my GBA SP was my first console I likes the remaster, but the artstyle is a bit weird. also i love the 2d artstyle in generell (like the original or fire emblem blazing blade or sacred stones). But thats something i could overcome and enjoy the graphics over time BUT The removal of regular attacks hit me hard. not having it in a new game which is not a remaster is ok to me. But not having regular attacks in a game i was used to have it and this being my first and maybe most loved game made me have a hard time enjoying it. Xp curves and stats are extremely trash imo Like i had a wurmple as my highest level pokemon and stats compared overall made no difference not being able to enter habitats.... made me sadge. The habitats with their matching music is something that makes me feel like the 8 year boi i was while i explored this game for the first time...

Indeed, I was quite surprised with how many tools this game gives you yet still keeps it as challenging as ever, it's certainly a well-balanced game

The only thing i disliked in the game was that the autosave cannot be disabled.

You might as well boot up an emulator or get it on the Wii U virtual console. A DS copy is absurdly expensive these days.
