As someone who read the manga before watching the anime, I definitely recommend you to read the manga. There are some flashbacks during Hori's dad and mom in high school.
For me, i don’t like the manga that much. To me, it should’ve ended here. If you want to continue with the little brother’s story or anything, make a new manga. I have a belief that things should end where it should’ve ended, not milking it
@@haikalaxhan2904 but they didn’t milk it? It’s literally a little side story that lasts 2 chapters for Souta and Yuna. Hori’s parents gets 1 chapter.
The manga still ends the same way as the anime, but you also get a bonus story afterwards showing Hori and Miyamura some time in the future. So what’re you chatting?

They squeezed 122 chapter in 12 episodes there was alot of stuff that was Soo good in the mangaa...I watched anime first then mangaa but I'm still glad I finished the manga there's Soo much more depth in characters and storyy..

Miya finally looking back and acknowledging his old self and then his final speech both made me tear up AGAIN. This anime still has its grip on me I loved it so much ❤ thank you for reacting to it!

there's some chapter focused on Kyouko's lil bro taking place IIRC 10 years later and we see that Kyouko has short hair. And in the web manga we can see that they have a son
The manga doesn't continue after this part, it ends exactly how the anime ends (apart from a couple of chapters that are flashback/flashforward). What the manga gives you is much more time with the characters, so many more day-to-day situations (example: Sakura loves a weekly ninja-themed manga, one day she waits all day to buy the "Weekly Shonen Jump"-like magazine but doesn't find it, Yanagi steps in because he got the last copy. Sakura and Yanagi become manga mutuals); all the still images in the ending are basically coloured manga panels of non-animated chapters/story arcs (the one you said "was it from their trip?" is actually their school festival)
No matter how many times I rewatch this anime, the ending scene for Miyamura's speech always never fail to make me shed manly tears.
I really liked this show because you can actually see their relationship grow. Usually romantic anime shows are 99% of tease and they end up together in the last episode in last few minutes.
7:45 Its explained in the manga that Hori's dad Kyosuke did the same thing to Sengoku's dad at their high school graduation, also in the manga both Sengoku's are worried that Miyamura is becoming just like Kyosuke.
This was the only anime that made me go right to the manga once it was over. I couldn't get enough of this slice of life, it was just so cute and felt so real. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants more! 👍👍👍
Literally the same! Finished the anime like 4 days ago and went to read the manga the next day immediately
The manga ended at the same spot at the graduation, but the anime cut about 50% of stories in-between.
Mange also has 2 small side stories - 20 yrs ago how Hori's parents met; and 10 yrs later between Souta (Kyouko's little brother) and Yuuna (Souta's friend who has little screentime in anime compare to the manga).

i loved Horimiya it was so good, im hoping they at least make a Movie showing the trip or a like 5 year later reunion with everyone

I 100% recommend the manga. There are so much character interaction and other characters, like Sengoku father, more Sota, the little girl that u see around sota in one or two episodes, etc.
If you loved the anime the manga will enhance the experience by a lot.
THE ENDING, THE ANIMATION, MIYAS SPEACH, I want more of horimiya somehow
The ending of the manga is the same as the anime's, but there are a lot more of in between content in the manga. There are some really cool and funny moments that weren't included in the anime that I really recomend reading, but the story doesn't really develop much after they get laid, if I'm not mistaken, and it becomes a bunch of short stories mainly. But since there are some that are really worth reading so you may like the manga.

When they did the "what if" flash back, I didn't see Miyamura in the first few scenes. I was afraid they were going to go super dark with the "what if" scenario. I'm glad they didn't go that far.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite shows in recent memory. This and Spy x Family are the reason I got back into anime after not watching anything for several years.
definitely read the manga, it doesnt continue but there are som many stories that got cut out that I loved. It still is my favourite manga to date :)
I hope you decided to read the manga! This anime went through the whole story super fast, so they left out a lot of slice of life school shenanigans, and trips, and relationship development between a whole lot of characters. If you're looking for more, the manga is definitely worth it.

Ahhh I miss this show
This is probably one of the most wholesome anime series that I have watched. I can't really think of any anime that have the same vibe as this. Probably Kimi no Todoki, but that was a slow burn anime.
Or probably that anime where the protagonist is a big buff guy and the girl is very smol and cute(I forgot the title, something something monogatari(?)).
Anyways, I loved your reactions and can't wait for your 'Shigatsu was Kimi no Uso' reaction.

I'd also want to make a few suggestion of anime that would be great to react to if you haven't seen them :
- Hisone to Masotan (2018, 12 episodes)
- Toradora (2008, 25 episodes + 1 OAV + 4 specials)
- Ano Natsu de Matteru (2012, 12 episodes)
(this last one is a true underrated gem, a sweet nice and fun slice of life that really didn't get the success it deserved, so you may not encounter many people proposing it... But it really is a nice one to watch, especially as it's kinda the same vibe as Horimiya... I'm pretty sure you're gonna like it a lot).
This is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time, and closest thing to a sequel we have is a few manga chapters in the future about Souta 😔 the manga is really good though but it ends at the same point
I kinda feel bad for watanabe, he only got a single scene on graduation at that!
Felt the same way when it was over. I honestly didn't think I can find another series that I liked so much. And then "My Dress Up Darling" came around. I hope you get the chance to react to that series soon!

The Manga(or the web comic) I believe does continue from here. I believe either in the Manga or the webcomic, Miyamura and Hori actually got married and had a child. Souta is in high school as well in the manga.
This series left a hole in me that was only filled for the time I had the manga to read, now I'm just sad again lol.

Some anime like this that I recommend are Wotakoi: Love is hard for an otaku, Wolf girl and black prince, and My little monster.
I also recommend Noragami and Ouran high school host club if you haven’t seen those. All of them are great!
All of the pictures in the credits are manga arcs and chapters that the anime skipped, the anime skipped like half of the manga lol, like from chapter 60 to 120
The manga shows them in the future. It has a time skip and it shows also Hori's brother as a teenager.
If you like romance animes that make you cry you should try nagi no asukara - a lull in the sea that shit will have anyone in tears by the end
A lot of the outro images were from the manga. Also, the manga kinda focuses more on Hori’s feelings than Miyamura’s
Aaaaa you should read the side stories. The one set years in the future will definitely make you happy
A great series with significant romantic depth which I keep returning to time and again is AMAGAMI and it's second set AMAGAMI SS, If you haven;t seen this series it's a fab one which I'm pretty sure you'd adore!
The manga has a lot of content that was cut in the anime due to time restrictions. HOWEVER, I should stress that after Miya's proposal that's sort of where their appearance in the manga ends.
The ending here in the anime is the same as the manga, and they don't really develop or even show up after this point since the original webcomic that this series based on ended at this point in their relationship. And so the manga starts focusing on other side characters, and Hori/Miya become cameos in their own series. If the anime got a season 2, there would basically be no Hori or Miya moments anymore.
I still definitely recommend reading the missing chapters before the proposal since those are great and what you'd expect from Horimiya

For some other sweet romance anime that aren't slow burn, I'd recommend "Wotakoi: Love is Hard for an Otaku" and "Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You". Both are great, and some of the rare anime that take place _after_ high school. Plus the openings are fire for both.
Yeah , i have watched tonikawa , but never heard of wotokai . Is it the same or any different .

@Yoyon Wotakoi is basically a workplace romance story about trying to manage a dating life as a nerd. The two main characters are old childhood friends who bump into each other after one of them joins the company, and they start dating in episode 1 kind of out of convenience but then you see them grow as a couple. There's also 2 secondary characters who have been together since high school, and the guy is a casual nerd while the girl does crossdress cosplays. There's not really any big climactic episodes or arcs, but it is a kind of feel-good type of show, so nice for low drama

(and just in case anyone asks, I do not like the relationship between Hori and Miyamura, I think Hori is abusive and manipulative towards him and he's too kind of a person to tell her 'no' when it hurts his public reputation, I watched this series once and I hated it after seeing how she foisted her little brother off on him any chance she got and wasn't into watching it again.)
This was such a happy ending, loved it. If you are liking romance you may be interested in Orange! It is a hidden gem and is partially a romance anime with a great cast of characters.
This show gave me the same feeling as an very older anime called His and Her Circumstances (too bad they ran out of money for the later half of it, the manga is much better). Both great love stories.

Can’t recommend the manga enough. The pictures you see in end credits are events from the manga and is worth reading just for them tbh. We also see a “20 years earlier” chapter where we see how Hori’s parents met and a few “10 years later” chapter where we see Sota in high school with his friend (the girl who at hori’s house for Christmas). Plus a lot of smaller arcs that the anime cut out, that’s why the anime feels really rushed cuz you don’t have them in between chapters to tie in characters and stuff..
The manga has a lot more stuff and i would definitely recommend reading it
Have you noticed that Sakura has not been in the same scene as Tooru since Yuki LIED to her and made her lip quiver that Yuki and Tooru were dating?

The final episode is almost similar in the manga. It's no more than that, but the anime cut a lot of things in the middle. Interesting things.Character development things. The anime would have 20 episodes to adapt everything.
It's a pitty but I love the show.

The manga is amazinngggggg. If the anime is an 9 in my opinion the manga is a 10. There are more stories with them and many stories in the manga weren’t adapted into the anime. Also the ending for the last episode have panels from the anime.

No the manga also ended there. But the manga is way more wholesome. Anime has wrapped up very quickly, skipping a lot of things.

Manga ended here as well. Anime just cut off a lot of parts from the Manga and fit the general plot into 1 season (It's a shame that they did this, this could've been a 2 or 3 season masterpiece, but there's no plot moving forward so unless Cloverworks gets permission from the author and somehow manage to create the plot of a college arc that's on par with the original, we won't be getting a season 2.)
