I like the trigger! slack has never bother me, That's where I start. It has about a 7' brake which is good and safe. I don't like anything less than 4' or more than 10' brake for a 308. Now sponge I don't like at all. But I think Century and affiliate did a real good not fancy mind you battle rifle for the price.
I've fired a friends rifle with a Nikon scope and its was very accurate. With Century their products can be inconsistent but the one that I fired was excellent using surplus Hirtenberger ammo.
"its kinda hard to charge it" simple fix lock it back then put magazine in then slap the handle I mean that is one of the coolest parts about the gun lol
Right? I mean that satisfying sound of the receiver going home...how about those bad ass roller lockers that rifle. Recoil starts to suck after the 3rd magazine...
A 12lbs plus creep is average for the C308 i believe, A trigger job is a definite need, if you want to keep those groups to a solid 1"moa in my experience.
The original design of the trigger is carried over in this clone. If you research the original model and versions made the trigger was designed that way to make it “idiot drop proof” preventing an AD or ND
@ Nate D. - Yes, that's right. The Bundeswehr specified a trigger capable of withstanding a "drop test" of a fully-loaded ready-to-fire G3 (safety off) from a helicopter 10-12 feet up, if memory serves. Something like that. Which is why the abysmal factory/OEM trigger comes in 12-15 lbs.pull-weight and with tons of over-travel and creep. What an idiotic specification. The designers went to the trouble of assembling what is potentially a highly-accurate rifle, but then the army chickened out at the last minute and put a needlessly poor trigger into it. That and the needlessly-mediocre factory/OEM iron sights, condemn what is otherwise a good design to being something less than it could have been. The poor ergonomics of the rifles, especially the charging handle placement, and the lack of a last shot bolt-hold-open, also really hurt the system. Ironically, though, the CETME-G3 has ended up outlasting its chief Cold War rival, the FN FAL, by a considerable span of years. Whereas during that era around ninety nations used the Belgian design and perhaps fifty the CETME-G3, today almost no one still uses the FAL, whereas plenty of nations around the world still employ the Spanish-German design, including Mexico, Greece, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, just to name a few. The FAL is still issued to the Brazilian Army (which uses them for jungle warfare troops) and India (whose alpine/mountain troops use the design). Heard that Argentina may be bringing them back also, but not sure of that....
The cherokee cheek riser is the best and cheapest fix for chin weld. I ended up taking my magpul PRS stock off because it saves so much weight just using the cherokee cheek piece on the original stock.
What I do with mine is pre-stage the take up. In truth it isn’t a terrible trigger pull (I have the stock Navy lower on mine.). It is a “meh” trigger. I’m going to buy a 2nd trigger pack and send it off to Bill Springfield.
Keep an eye on the lug of that Bobro mount. I have yet to see a Bobro mount where the lug did not shrink several thousandths over just a few hundred rounds of 5.56 and would no longer hold zero.
Bill Springfield. Hands down made my cetme's very accurate. Stock trigger is absolutely ridiculous. Its a Horrible experience. Once you try it... You'll never forget it lol. Less than 50$ shipped he tuned the trigger. Its way better and so worth it
Red Pill Patriot late, late reply but my c308 was made in 2016 and was able to keyhole at 50 yards, with shitty ammo. Only one malfunction in 60 rounds which was a stovepipe
Really depends, I bought mine in either '02-'03 and had zero problems. Had it checked and gapped by a certified gunsmith and everything checked out fine. Maybe I got lucky with a great rifle that is also one hell of a shooter once I figured out the velocity node she likes using the moly coated 168 SMKs.
Yeah try a different trigger but also use a 10-round magazine I'm watching your shadow from the magazine get dimmer and then darker I'm thinking your magazine is tapping when you fire

What scope mount is that?

True story.
Right? I mean that satisfying sound of the receiver going home...how about those bad ass roller lockers that rifle. Recoil starts to suck after the 3rd magazine...
You can’t pussy foot a g3 you have to man handle it with everything
Weird trigger indeed. Ended up swapping my trigger assembly for a steel HK91 set from RTG Parts. Love it now.
It’s so beautiful 😭 I want the same setup but I’d love to put a can on it

Mine came at 7 lbs and a slack with a clean brake. maybe I got lucky :)
You can buy a whole different trigger pack that Bill Springfield tinkers with to make it "matchgrade" as it can be.
Well ive been shooting remington 742s and 760s and Browning BARs all my life, so my C308 is nearly match grade.

Had my trigger surfaced stoned. Feels like match grade. Had to relearn how to shoot it.
Actual CETME triggers aren’t that bad. Mine clocks in around 7-8. Some slack with an ok brake

Looking to pick one up. What cut off years should I keep away from. I heard lately century has become better

Best deal going on a .308 MBR. Just buy a G3 spring package when you get it.
What's the difference?
Yeah try a different trigger but also use a 10-round magazine I'm watching your shadow from the magazine get dimmer and then darker I'm thinking your magazine is tapping when you fire
Damn you're fast LOL
can you swap the C308 with a PTR91 tiger assembly ?
I am not sure on that. Gives me something to look into. Thanks!
When your shooting sounds like a spaghetti western starring Clint Eastwood.
I get the trigger is simply not good. How would you tackle this problem? By changing the whole trigger group? Or just the trigger itself?
Well you can buy a trigger group that has been lightened by a gunsmith. It isn't recommended to take the trigger pack apart
@@iloveshootingshit Got it. Thanks. Which one would you recomend?
@@pearljaime2 well the trigger job isn't cheap but I wouldn't recommend anything else.
What is your scope zeroed at?
100 yards. Furthest i can get in my area
What scope is best?
Can you tell me what type of scope mount you have and where you got it? I have a C308 and scope but no mount.
that is a Bobro quick detach mount
90% of people say the accuracy is horrible on these. I have found mine is about like yours, better than combat accuracy.
I am glad you lucked out too 😊
Maybe those 90% probably can't shoot
What scope rings/mount are you using?
Boboro i beleive. It wasnt my mount
It’s only hard to charge it because you weren’t yanking it with your full might
Im usually good at yanking things 😂

Where did you purchase your c308
I bought it through my FFL dealer. I told him what i wanted and he found a good price on it. You can find deals on this rifle online
Buds gun shop has it for $597 right now, I’m think about getting one.
GOT MY EYE ON ONE OF THESE...OR ANOTHER GP100 BUT IN 44SPECIAL....HMMMMMM DECISIONS???
Classic firearms is selling these with wood furniture rite know just something to think about
Can you shoot 6.5 through it?
No, these are only chambered for 308win/7.62 NATO...
What kind of question is this?
DerpyTurtle 076 lmao
3 Shot groups to test accuracy? You really should be doing at least 5 shot groups at minimum.
Amy M I’ve always did 3 shot groups to
Agreed. 5 shots
Don't plan on reloading with this rifle it chews up your brass
Hahaha yes it does
@2:30, if you overcome your own bad habbits more like
Agreed!
My sks does better. Doesnt seem worth it
Yea the sks is a good rifle. I have one as well
