IT'S HOT! There isn't a heat shield in the standard hand-guard, I would strongly suggest anyone with this rifle to purchase an upgrade with heat shielding. Standard trigger is creepy af and can be swapped out with the Hk91 enhanced trigger pack running $169 and some change. The size and texture of the original charging handle was something I didn't like so I swapped it out for the Hk21 rubberized charging handle which is larger making it easier to cock, runs about $44 on H&k website.
Wood furniture is a must, doesn't get hot, doesn't melt, mine has an HK91 metal trigger Housing and a paddle release, I polished the internals for the charging handle and trigger engagement surfaces so mine charges smooth and 4lb crisp trigger with nearly instant reset. But flutted chamber kills the brass. That's my one draw back, I run an EOTech 552 NV capable. I love the rifle.
I love this gun! It's a sexy beast. I've had mine for a over a year now, and it's a great gun. Every time I get it out, everyone wants to shoot it! It's an attention getter, 4 sure... Great review!
That rail was welded on there, doesn't come with the rifle, however you can get a rail that locks on around the rear sight aperture, but not sure what kind of zero it will be able to hold
The reason the rear site and mag release are different from the G3 is because this is NOT a G3 clone. This is an American made reproduction of the Spanish CETME M1958 which the G3 is a license built copy of. H&K changed the rear sight and mag release when they began producing the G3 to replace the G2( license built FAL).
For a .308 MBR? This is an incredible deal. Mil Spec Full Auto Bolt and carrier, trusted US Made receiver, lower and barrel and SEXY wood furniture. I love mine
Yeah, I swapped out that hanguard for an aluminum tri-rail. It's helped a lot with heat transfer, and the metal of the rail acts kind of like a heat sink
Nice i just change the black furniture for od green on mine , looks nice and works great ,but i live in california i need to featureless and get 10 round magazines.
Thanks very much for this! I agree that for its price it's a fine option. One minor point: I'm surprised that it appears this gun only takes .308 rounds. Not sure why Century didn't make it to also accept 7.62 NATO. But again, not a huge deal; I just think it odd.
@@iloveshootingshit Oh really?! That's awesome, thanks! I guess I just assumed that because "7.62" isn't stamped on the rifle, it couldn't shoot it. But this is great news. All the more reason for me to get one! :-)
@@iloveshootingshit all of the parts excluding the barrel, lower reciever and fire control group are surplus CETME parts on the century arms c308. I cant really speak for the h&k guns

Trigger on my c308 was only 8lbs you must have just got a bad trigger man and you cant easily get a trigger job done to clean up the slop in your rifle. And not gonna lie you just have short fingers 7:20 i dont have a problem getting to the mag release with my index
Yea I just use my middle for the mage release. I seen where I can get a trigger job for $200. But I been spoiled by the ar15. F9r that money I'd want a 3lb trigger
Warning. My c308 shoots about a foot to the left at 25 meters. The elevation is fine but you have to hold off the punkin to hit center Mas at 25 meters
Jonathan Spier thanks, I will contact them although it has been a wile I will check. It might not hit the side of a barn today but it does function well.
Wow what a cry baby. This rifle is a 308 NATO round. Compared to a A R or a m 16 this size round will stop anything.its a great rifle but very heavy. This kind of rifle Modelo, h and j g 3, fall and the cetme all the same but different
@@iloveshootingshitya i subscribed. i really want an hk91 clone, seems like centurys kinda hit or miss, but for 600$ im pretty sold, i mean seems like most people are satisfied with them
Yeah obviously these military clones need to be shot slowly once every minute or else it will explode. Thank God they didn't have an automatic sear on the military issue one and accepted those into service!

great video, thanks for sharing. i own the C308 and have the same issues. i still love it and the price for mags was right on!
daniel boyd cooper cheaper than dirt has the mags that fit my c308 for 3bucks right now

A military gun with military grade trigger. What a surprise.
Sent a century hk clone trigger group to bill springfield for a trigger job and it came back awsome 3.5 to 4 lb

You were scuffing up your aluminum G3 magazine because they are for the G3/HK/PTR, not for the CETME
Solid battle rifle. Its no "sniper"....maybe DMR. still- 308 lead power on bad guys at 400 yards. DOES THE TRICK
Almost got this last month sweet rifle
G3 (and clones) forever!
Fourth Horseman the G3 is a clone of the CETME
@@Spikernaut It's a further development of the CETME. But I was referring to clones such as the PTR-91.
I drilled out the dimples or fake holes in the plastic hand guard - helped with cooling.
Casey Brown GREAT IDEA, HHHUUUUMMMM, OR AN ALUMINUM VERSION WITH HOLES??
Sam Gregorian, drilling holes is cheap.
But he would rather troll
There are a ton of metal lowers. I got mine for 5 bucks three weeks ago. My gunsmith is altering mine. Pins should be alternated.
Mark Archambault are they pinned for the semi auto?
It's nice he used a cetme magazine. There is a guy on the net that works the trigger for better pull. Do a search.
Very nicely explained
Thank You
Look on Hkparts.net. They occasionally have a worked trigger pack for under $100.
www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/Trigger-Packs-and-Lowers-c40.htm
Lately I haven't seen none of these rifles for sale. They don't sell them anymore more or what?
they should accept G3 mags. mine does anyway.
Pull the charging handle back palm up like an m60. It makes it easier and no knuckle grind
Why is it so hard to pull the charging handle back?
With a good optic can hit At longer distance
I actually just put a strike eagle scope on this rifle
Sounds like there's a market for parts on this gun. I bet someone could make some money.
It uses almost 100% g3 parts which are widely available
The barrel is PTR produced as well.
Get the Bill Springfield trigger, makes a huge difference. www.triggerwork.net/hkclones%2c-c308%2c-cetme-rifles.html

If you can safely shoot 308 in a rifle, it will shoot 7.62 safely. It is the opposite of 5.56 and 223.

nice review! could you show the brass marks sometime in the future?
Jelly Bryce yea I had pictures. But I forgot to put it into the video. I wish the comments would allow pictures
Pretty sure that rear sight is measured in meters not yards
A good gunsmith would fix the hell out of that trigger !
So the slamfire issue seems to have been corrected?
I never had the issue. To be safe keep the rifle pointed down range
Look down the barrel and slam it let us know
Slam fire? If you are talking about TLBS's slam fire issue it was because he had a broken firing pin.
There never was a slam fire issue with these rifles.
Thanks, nice video! Where did you buy it for $500?
It was a deal a dealer gave me. He got it for a good price and passed the deal onto me. I have seen deals on this rifle from time to time.
That's a nice dealer and a nice price.-
Very Much So! But you can find deals for this rifle.
I had considered buying it from Century for full price. But now I'm going to search.
$557.85 Is the best i can find as of now. I just googled it.
Can you use h&k stocks?
Yes.
Depends you need to get the complete stock back plate and buffer assembly all as one piece. sometimes a little sanding or filing is required as well
