From e minor to D Major with a time signature shift.
It's more like 3 songs in one. The main, E-minor riff, the slightly faster riff in the middle of verse 1 and beginning of verse 2, and that beautiful chorus. Plus that bridge with the heavy bass.

Haha i always ignored other bands coming from the nu metal genre, but when I heard these guys at ozzfest 2017 I noticed a difference in their style of playing. Also feels like I've experienced most of their songs in my highschool years it's crazy.

JACKIE CHAN FAN I gotta be honest, and I've been with them since day 1, but entombed I think is my favorite song. When I heard it the 1st time I almost couldn't comprehend that is was that good and touching to my soul.

Leathers is solid, Swerve City, Tempest, Goon Squad... as I listen to Koi No Yokan more, it appeals to me more. It grows ever stronger.

I love this album, and I truly don't regret pre-ordering it. Romantic Dreams is probably my favorite off of the album.
Deftones maybe not have the most complex music like others bands but they have something than others don't have: make you feel and touch your soul like only a few do, thank you, Deftones!!!!
+Riviere8281 I think they have a very complex versatility, these guys can use any sound and make it their own and they never stick to the same style of play. Idk whether they're alternative metal, nu metal or rock and that's why I love their music, pure artists !

the discography of deftones is an incredible journey of renewal and evolution, each album is always different from the previous one, while remaining refreshingly consistent and unmistakably "deftones". It' the perfect "result" of what they gave us before. Fantastic. Vocal lines, guitars, and fabulous drums, 3/4 then 4/4 again, with a slight increase of bpm to reinforce the shift. Go see them live. No Fireworks, but pure energy, and inexhaustible passion.

I had this on CD when it came out. Bought it the day it came out. I posted the picture on FB and I think I got one like from my Mexican uncle liking the cover not knowing what it was. This song hit me hard. The line that struck me the most was, “I wish this night will never end.” There’s some nights that I would really with they would never end. I want to keep the good feeling going and not go away. The bull shit next day is so fucking hard to to deal with after a good night. I just want to relax and listen to deftones the whole night.
The thing I will miss most about him is his voice... just the sound of him made me melt and stumble all over my own words... this song reminded me of him... Well the whole album did lol... I'm hyphotized by your name... now I just feel empty and lost, like a part of me has died

The entire album is out of this world but this is the one that gets looped the most by far. Probably 20 to 1 over the others, until I wear it down..LOL Leathers is my second choice, in case anyone really cares;)

I love this fucking song. The band I play in just performed a Deftones cover set at a local venue. We played this second, just after Swerve City. It definitely turned some heads but it was really well received and I even saw a few folks singing along!

some people cant dig maynards voice or his lyricism but he has an incredible aura to his voice that no screaming or yelling can match. Chino actually re3minds me of Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin. Both have wide vocal ranges that not many artists have. Both are great lyricists as well. I have to say though, Chino really stretches out words sometimes in a way I wouldnt have thought could be done, Cherry waves for example. All together amazing. A living legend

I would have to agree with being slept on! This album is in the top 3, as I really enjoy 'Around the fur, Koi no yokan, White Pony. So much emotional ties to all three.
