Been following your reviews for almost 1 year. From a data lover: you're the best in analyzing the sensors. Would love a full review and comparison after the first firmware update with the vantage v3. Also, any chance of reviewing the Suunto Race?
Hi Rob, First thank you for the tests you do and share with us. Do you have a plan to start testing Suunto watches in the near future? Suunto are focusing on sports and outdoor activities and will be very interesting to see them on the same charts with Apple and Garmin.
Good to see a follow-up on the Vantage V3, and probably another one to come following the release of the new software. I was a little put off by the original HR performance, and it would be good to see an improved performance. It looks as if they're fairly confident of that!
Another great scientific review, Rob! I love dedication you put in to these kinds of videos. I'm obviously in no position to say, but I'd very much appreciate a scientific review of the newly released Huawei Band 9, sporting the TruSeen 5.5 and TruSleep 4.0 like on the Huawei Watch GT4s.
...though I loved Polar back then with the FT80 and later the V800, they always had their quality issues and shortcommings... They got overpaced in features and software by garmin and the wave of smartwatches since the mid 10s... So this looks finally like their first great "catch-up" watch... Hope they will offer great accuracy, quality of metrics and software-algos!
Hi Rob. I'm looking forward to your review of this device once you are able to thoroughly rest it. I lost my Polar Ignite, and I'm looking at this as a candidate to replace it. The other watches I'm looking at are the Casio GBDH20001A and Casio GPR-H1000-1, both G-Shocks. What makes the GPR-H1000-1 interesting is that it's running Polar software. Could you possibly get ahold of and compare and review these G-Shocks? I'm curious to know if Polar software runs just as good in other devices as in polar, and if the H10 strap works with the G-Shocks. I can't find information if they do or don't.
Polar has been quite disappointing for many years when it comes to wrist based hr tracking... Could you do a review of the OnePlus Watch 2? That seems to be a positive newcomer to WearOS lineup 😊
My experience with polar products I've been using polar products since the late 1980's and since rcx5 I've been disappointed The 800 series was junk I had 4 of them I have the vantage V1 and V2, the optical tracking is terrible and I experienced similar results as you have on the version 3 model. On hot days and I sweated alot the heart rate is very erratic. I use a loop track which I measured with wheeled measuring device and is 1478.3 m, the polar device would measure it at somewhere between 1430m and 1465m, while the other devices I would use would be consistent to within 5 m Polar wants to charge a premium price for the product and it is fallen well behind the competition Thank You for the reviews I look forward too them each time
sir, could you make a review about blackshark smartwatch series, cause i find them as one of the most affortable smartwatch that has good specification
1. How good is the HR monitoring for people with a darker skin? 2. Could you expand on the underlying mathematical model used for comparison with other devices? If it's purely timestamp comparison w.r.t. the reference, then the 'correlation' might get terrible results while a simple time-translation might yield really good data (think of lag in timeseries).
Very good video! I bought the Vantage V3 and H10 because of your reviews! 😊 Is there any way to record a train session with both sensors? V3 in the wrist and h10 in the chest?
You can pair your H10 with the Strava App and at the same time turn-off its connection with the watch. This works for me as I've been testing accuracy Garmin Venu 3, Garmin Venu 2, and FitBit Charge 6.
As a fan of the Polar Verity Sense, I’d really like to see Polar up their game on the watch front. They are making a big leap in terms of the new price point for this watch. Had it a MSRP of 20%, customers would be more willing to roll with its issues while Polar gets the instability figured out.
The latest smart CASIOs like g-shock dw-h5600 and gbd-h2000 claim to use polar technology for their health functions. Could you make a review on either of them as well? Thanks for your channel!
Can you make a video for the novamos S6? It says it has dual chip dual system ultra long standby to reach 2 days of light usage in 4G mode and 5-7 days of light usage in sport mode
When you have the opportunity to test it, be sure to bring us a complete analysis of the new Smartwatch Xiaomi Watch 2 with Wear OS, it has great differences and comes to compete directly with the Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch
Hi Rob, I've just updated to the v2.0.19 FW the V3...let's see but now I have no hopes anymore. Might be that the V3 is the LAST POLAR for me. I have enough! Not having all those watches you have but still some of those that I've tested, liked or not. The V3 is the worst HR device I have EVER seen in last years, compared to other Samsung, Huawei, Fitbits...referencing to the H10 strap of course (FW 1.3.5 in my V3 up to this morning). For the sleep tracking, I don't know. No reference to compare (like the H10 for the HR/HRV)...I don't have the Apple watch (and maybe better as up to what I see in reviews I'll be even more frustrated ;-) ). The only good thing with the V3/X2 is the orthostatic test option, but I'm doing it with the H10 and V3, as well as HRV follow up with the apps like the Elite or Kubios, much more accurate/reliable. RIP Nokia, oups POLAR 😢...I really would like to give one try more and like it...let's see in next 24h as it's wrong HR is so evident that it shows up almost immediately (luckily ;-) )
If you're working with Polar, or they're working with you, please ffs make the case to them for proper detailed patch notes, and even better, roadmaps. The patch notes are a joke.
