8:30 I personally don't need nor want all the fancy features. I just want a basic 9mm 1911 that holds more rounds and WORKS.
I ordered the Carry B9R DS 1911 yesterday. It will be a great addition to my already extensive Tisas 1911 collection. I absolutely love this company. I also am waiting for the MAC 5 to be released by SDS Imports soon. Hope to see y'all reviewing that firearm as well.
Where?
Where did u order?
@@NunezPhotography my LGS has it on a pre-order list with their distributor. When it is made available, my LGS with be notified.
Nice, good to see there are some killer 1911DS options that run well, at a price that will allow you to do some customization and still come out ahead. Just Sub'd!
I have a Tisas Stingray 9mm. First Tisas but it really sold me on the while brand.
New to the channel. Great job. This new pistol was just what I was looking for. I had been considering the Prodigy, but now, with the lower cost, this is a home run!
Thanks for the info. I went out and picked up one and it is my first 2011. I have plenty of 1911s. This thing shoots great. Thanks again.
Been waiting for Tisas to release a double stack 1911 im gonna have to yoink one up very soon.
Was waiting to see someone shoot this one, I'd like the scratch that 2011 itch without dropping a couple mortgage payments on one. Was excited when I saw Tisas putting one out. Thanks for the video!
Yup. Same here.
I have been waiting for this one as well. Another one you might want to checkout is the Apollo 11. I got one in last week and its a smooth shooter.
Got mine ordered, should be here in a few days.
Super interested in this one. Thanks for the review.
Oh yeah can't wait to put that in my hands I'm looking at it now and I'm going to order
I ordered this from my LGS a week before Shot Show. Cant wait for it to arrive.
I looked at the Night Stalker and had it in my cart, then hesitated and it was gone. Ended up ordering the MAC 1911 DS-9, oh man I am not disappointed!!
I have the Tisas m45a1 raider. Flawless gun. 1400 rounds downrange. Only 1 malfunction and I believe it was due to cheap magazine. If this is anywhere as good as the Raider then guess I will have to double up on the honey-do list so wife won't be too mad for me getting yet another gun 😂😂😂😂😂
Tell me how it goes!!!! I'm building a pavilion and shed in the backyard for my wife so I can sneak a new gun in the conversation rofl.
headed to the shop in the mornin' to pick mine up
Seems like a better option than the EAA/Girsan 2311 option
Thanks for this review. Going into shotshow I knew it was gonna be either this or the Mac 9 DS for my next purchase.
Then the Canik TTI Combat happened😂😂
Ill still look into this for later down the line!
I'm thinking of getting one of these, while my dad wants the TTI combat...on the plus side, I end up with both eventually...
The TTI Canik is gonna be sweet but they still didn't bulge the frame where the support hand thumb ends up resting which would've been a nice addition so that they could carve in a "gas pedal" into the frame. I will still run an Align Tactical thumbrest on the TTI Canik because of that. I actually just put together a custom Canik Rival with a compensator using a Mete SFT slide(basically G17 length, ends up being the length of the Rival when the comp is installed) on a Rival frame with a Freedomsmith trigger shoe. I have some vids on my channel of it although there was too much snow to put down steel targets that day. I'll have some better videos of it in action tomorrow but suffice to say--its an extremely fast pistol with that comp. I can't wait to run it fast tomorrow.
@@armorers_wrench believe it or not I actually saw that video haha. Crazy cool idea and execution. Would be nice to see a side by side of you shooting the Rival in its normal config and then doing the comparison to the comp and new slide tho. I remember You shooting that badboy very flat but some folks are just naturally good at recoil management so like I said side by side would be kickass.
Sucks it was cold!
@@HammersOverStrikers I actually do have a quick video(2min long) showing a comparison to the original rival slide and my comped version. I will get more footage tomorrow and upload it just for you lol. A lot of the snow has melted so I should be able to put up some steel targets and really let it rip with the two caniks I own.
Once I eventually get the TTI I'll do comparisons with it as well. Until then if you're interested in more Canik related content feel free to sub to my channel, I'll be releasing quite a bit more going forward. I am also going to film a review of a BCM rifle I've had for 4 years now and put several thousand rounds through.
As far as recoil management--I'm alright at it but I definitely wouldn't call my skill level "natural". It took tons and tons of practice to get to where I'm at now and I'm by no means a master or anything like that. I shoot as much as I possibly can but compared to the Ben Stoegers and the Nils Jonnason's of the world I'm trash, I'm a normal dude who works a normal job in a machine shop who just loves shooting.
Eventually my goal is to own my own firearms manufacturing company. That is why I started working in machine shops. My intentions are to manufacture reasonably priced high performance firearms, specifically pistols and rifles. I'm not particularly interested in manufacturing shotguns.
Love the SD 1911 by Tisas
I am holding out for the 10mm, but glad to see that these first iterations are doing well.
Nice review I just subscribed.
Thanks for your review, neighbor
740.00 at Buds Gun Shop for this one. My Stingray has been flawless for 600+ rounds. Checkout the new PX9’s coming.
Tisas is awesome
I'm impressed with everything Tisas makes that I have tried. Thing is, I'm old and have at least dozens of magazines with cross-compatability for PCC, AR & carry handguns. So this would be a range toy, maybe a carry if I were only carrying a pistol.
I really do like the look and function, so I am still on the fence
I just found your channel again after I assume being "unsubscribed" by UA-cam. Glad to reconnect fellow E Tennessean.
Welcome back bro! I hate these commies lol
Love the review, what I wanna know is what hoody is that that thing is slick.
Freedom Industries. Love this thing.
I really do appreciate this video input I just found out about these and this does help. I really wish the surefire x300 did fit because that would be a sweet combo for this setup. Also quick little random question - what’s the fleece you have on?
+1 on the fleece. what kinda fleece is that

I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. Well done. In your opinion, can the new 2011 Tisas Carry be better than the Stacatto C2?
Of course, regardless of the price.
Staccato def seems to be the standard. While not quite there yet the gal is not much between the two and should be closing!
There is a Tisas Desperado and Tisas Regulator which are 1911s that come with two barrels, in .38 Super and 9x19mm. Would be cool if you get your hands on one of them to review.
Will try my best
Could this be concealed carried?
What kind of holsters will fit the carry version I’ve had no luck anywhere looking for a holster iwb or owb.
Not sure either. Got lucky with some of my trex arms ones good enough for the review.
Woooooooo
so the 507k will mount directly to the slide after removing the optic plate cover?
Correct
Can't find them anywhere, what's the actual release date, I didn't see it specified on the Tisas website? Also I'm between this the Girsan 2311, LFA Apollo and the RIA Tac Ultra.
Should be available to starting ordering now
@@OpieInTheSmokies Maybe it depends on location. I can't find the anywhere online and I'm signed up for a bunch of watchlist. Local gun store says they're watching how the Girsan 2311 sells to see if they want to bring in another Turkish double stack, not looking good so far, but it's probably just a matter of time. Thanks for replying.
Are the grip modules interchangeable with other double stack 1911 grip module’s??
Not sure about that.
Do you need an optic plate or is the optic direct mount??
507k directly
Tisas makes the best 1911 for the money
What screws did you use when mounting the 507k on the gun?
Honestly not sure have a box of optic screws and found two that matched lol
I know that the rear sight is Glock pattern but my curiosity is what the front sight dovetail is compatible with? There are several companies that make a DS 1911 costing more with lower quality manufactured componentry in them, which makes the Tisas lineup a far greater value IMO.
I agree. Not sure about the Dovetail compatibility but I would assume should be good to go knowing Tisas.
@@OpieInTheSmokies talked to my local shop yesterday and they said they can order a Carry DS in for me for 740 bucks which is pretty decent. They said they had 5 come in last week and they sold out in less than 3 hours. They cannot keep them in stock. They said if I want the Mac 1911 DS it is 1049.99 which again is a decent price. Now it is getting the Mrs. onboard with me buying yet another pistol lol!
Tisas has hi-def and tridian front sights for this on the Tisas USA website.
People are saying the holosun does not have enought elevetion and shoots low did that happen with your gun
Nope
I just got her last week, holsters suggestions please. Thanks
Tisas said they'll fit anything designed for Staccato.
Not sure yet on this one sorry bro
Would a TLR1HL work on this gun?? Any chance you could try that?
Sorry already gave back.
What holster are you using?
Used Trex arms ragnarok
What gun is it compared to with the holsters on trex arms website like the staccato or the prodigy
Tell tisas to offer the night stalker 9x19 in a SKU that comes withOUT a threaded barrel.
All sold out everywhere. Looking to get one of these and the canik TTI combat once its released.
What holster did you use for this?
Believe it was my Trex Arms Ragnarok for Glock
What ammo were you using during the testing? I'm curious about what caused the double feed. Does it feed hollow points reliably? Also, is it a ramped barrel or std 1911? How is the barrel fit, slide-frame fit? What kind of bench accuracy does it deliver? I've been waiting to see some testing with this pistol because I REALLY want one! It might be the ultimate carry 9mm at a reasonable price but this video just left me wanting more info. I hope you can answer these questions. Thanks.
We did not try hollow points in our test but used 115, 124, and a few 147 gr ammo.
Did it do well with hollow point ammunition?
Honestly didn’t get the chance to try it before having to give back.
How much wider is is compared to their single stack
Not 100% sure but it’s a little thicker for sure
When do they release? I cannot find any info on them.
Reps said a couple weeks from shot show
Now the question is: Which one did you enjoy more, the Carry or the Nightstalker DS?
Def night stalker
@@OpieInTheSmokies Hmmm, you're missing the trifecta though...the MAC 9 DS. Coming soon?
@@jamespwnsalll I’m hoping to get that one in the next couple weeks to play with.
@@OpieInTheSmokies Yessss. Me too, check Dahlonega Armory. Best price I found.
The current street price is $749.00 A steal.
Wow!!
Is this the same gun as the double stack girsan 1911
No. Tisas and Girsan are two different companies. They don't share parts or factories.
Is the slide as smooth as a prodigy?
Smoother I think!
Definitely smoother. No disconnecter hangup or full of mim parts the prodigy is notorious for.
Dose this fit a sure fire x300?
Mine wouldn’t fit. But I also didn’t mess with the pic rail adapters.
anyone know of any dealers who have these in stock? I've been looking everywhere.
Check gundeals
Looked like a failure to extract, not eject. If it happens more, extractor may just need a little tuning. My Tisas 1911 needed a little tuning to make the extractor tighter (very easy to do)
im buying a new gun this friday, was set on the bul armory tomahawk because i dont have a ported gun, but then i saw this and ive been wanting a DS 9mm 1911, i need help fellas
Bro Which gun holster do you use?
This was my Glock holster I’m pretty sure. Also used my Ragnarok SD with the x300 too.
@@OpieInTheSmokiesIs this gun compatible with the Glock holster?
@@OpieInTheSmokieswhat screws did you use when mounting the 507k to the gun??
Can you run staccato mags through this?
Been told Yes but I did not confirm personally.
Yes!
When are they releasing?
Within a couple weeks
Released now
11:11 Will a TLR-1 fit on it?
It may because the tlr-1 usually has multiple pic attachments to swap out in the mount.
Anyone know a ballpark on the street price on these two tisas models??
750 at most dealers, some of the bulk dealers may be less
672 for the carry model at tombstone tactical right now.
Would rather just spend a little more and get a cz75
If anyone needs a dude with a beard in your videos hit me up 😂
But seriously both of these things are solid shooters.
Where is your Cosaint review?
Search Opie Smokies CoSaint should pop right up
Can you make a video on how to take down this thing ?
I’m sorry no longer have but very much a 1911 in the process of takedown
That malfunction was caused by the rim of the case.
It sucks it doesn't have a full dust cover
Nice review, one thing I noticed about your shooting is try not to holster so fast. Take your time holstering, you don’t want to start holstering before you have had time to remove your finger from the trigger.
Also for self defense practice scanning for a few seconds and check behind you before holstering.
ok
Naw I'm good. I'll stick with Staccato.
Woof. King of the stovepipes, huh? Bold choice. Just don’t drop it.
The failure you had is actually a failure to extract. Failure to eject is usually a stove pipe.
As written in wikipedia “A failure to extract occurs when the casing of the just-fired round is not successfully extracted from the chamber. This can be caused by an overly-dirty chamber, broken extractor claw, case rim failures, or several other causes.”
“Man this thing runs smooth” … (slams slide forward on empty chamber)
Wah
you grip stance sucks...lock them elbows!
lol no.
I’m sorry but 1 malfunction in 300 rounds does not qualify as flawless. Did you happen to run any defensive ammo through it since it is being marketed as a carry gun? I hope people do not buy this pistol on the basis of this “review”.
Lol cry more Conner. Let’s see your review
Yo now some guns have break in periods. Especially guns built with tolerance in mind. Shadow systems is notorious for it 1911s in general are as well.
Who's man is this???😂😂😂
Alright Karen.
@@OpieInTheSmokies how much did they pay you for this review?
can you put the mag well from the night stalker ont he carry model?
I think so but didn't get a chance to try.
@@OpieInTheSmokies i e mailed tisas and they said it will fit but it isnt available as a stand alone part yet, the dude said within a month or 2, i did get the gun yesterday and love it so far
