- In this episode I head out to a new lake to see if I can catch some big pike. The day started out very slow, but picked up after a few hours.

Well done, Sean. It's fun to "crack the code" after a slow start. You were well rewarded with some tanks. Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks, it turned out to be such a great day!
always nice to hit new waters! Bummer losing your 1st three fish especially at a new lake. Then 9/10 after 3 hours 😮 Then the big pike to that yak NOOOOOOOO!!!! Aw man Sean, that looked like such a nice Pike! Nice you finally got that one landed! Beautiful 35" 9lbers!!! Think you made up for the loses . Then the 34" 8 1/2lber!! Man, you were getting pulled around in the yak! So many big fish...goes to show not to give up! great stuff Sean! Can't wait for part two!
Thanks Chris. I was sure getting frustrated, but it turned around in a big way. Part 2 was just as crazy!
I always find it exciting to fish a new spot and this one worked out great for you with some nice catches. Great job Sean and you'll have to hit that lake up again.
Thanks, I will be back for sure!
Great video Sean! Glad the exploration paid off for you. Some beauty catches
Thanks. There are some monsters in there for sure
Tough fishing to start but your persistence paid off. You got on some nice ones. That big one you lost at the net was a beauty. Nice to have success at a lake you have never tried before. 👍
Indeed, it was such an amazing day for being there the first time!
Some awesome pike action Sean! Way to go!
Thanks Kyle, appreciate it
Wow, a compete turn around of a day, you found the "Land of the Giants". That new lake could end up as a favorite.
Favorite indeed, if the fishing stays like this!
What a frustrating roller coaster of a day. Those were some nice pike but that first one you lost beside the kayak was a heart breaker. Those 40+ pike they get away live in your nightmares lol. Nothing wrong with smacking some mid 30s pike, makes you wonder how big all those missed fish were.
I know one of them was a bigger one. The rest of the day was just as crazy. Thanks for the comment
Wow! Those are some giant pike. You may need a bigger net. Nice outing 😎 💪🏻
Definitely need a bigger net at that lake!
Dang that was a good day right there.
Not over yet, part 2 just as crazy!
Very nice fishing buddy... and good on you keeping name of lake quiet...
Caught a 51 inch pike a couple years ago (yes, i released her in good shape) in alberta... when asked which lake i caught it in... i say the one with water in it next to a green tree...lol...
Watched a guy day before yesterday take 5 trout out of a lake that has 2 limit... to make matters worse he was back yesterday doing it again... and he will be the first to complain about no fish when fish stock destroyed... its a shame how badly our lakes are getting crap kicked these days... SO KEEP SECRETS... DONT TELL ANYONE.
I won’t share this one. i was asked not too by many people. It sure is a great spot.
Poachers are always the first to complain that there are no fish left. Did you report that angler?
@@differentfins yes I did...
@@RAM-19 very nice!
Awesome catch bro. I bet that fought hard!
Such an amazing fight!
Some great looking fish sean
Thanks!
Glad you made it out there Sean. The pike in that lake are consistently huge. I have a good theory why, but will keep that out of the comments so as to not reveal the location. This lake should be made catch and release only though in my opinion. Thanks for your careful handling and release demonstrated 👍
hey! I'm just wondering if I could have the name of the lake I want to see how far it is , me and my dad love to go pike fishing and I'm the search to catch a big guy!! , I have never killed a fish in 3 years of fishing 😁
@@fishin4funnn nope sorry. Too many eyes on this video and this lake has too much fishing pressure already.
No problem. Catch and release only for those big girls. Wont share this location, I promised not to.
Great job on a new lake my friend! Way to stick with it! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for the support!
Looks like a nice spot you've found! And you caught some wicked huge pike! Great work Sean! Will you try ice fishing there in the winter you think?
Thanks. I was told that it isn't great for ice fishing. It is also quite a drive, so unlikely, but I will be back for some fall fishing I think
Rough start but then some beauty northerns! Nice! 🤙😎
For sure, glad I eventually got into them.
Wow some awesome pike action! Congrats on a great trip! I'm sure you'll be back to this secret spot! Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
I will definitely be back. Thanks for watching!
Oh man, 3 hours lost, and then boom, just tanks! Hood job, Sean
Thanks, second part out now!
Nice catches! Monkey Lip Lake is always a treat. I suspect the lost fish are due to poor visibility - they are snapping at the lure basically as it whips by. At least it's just muddy and not full of algae.
Such a great place. Hope it stays great for awhile.
Heartbreaker losing that first one. Great day for some big monsters. It's good to fish some new water!
Thanks. The afternoon was just as crazy!
Great video Sean! Love it!!!!
Thanks!!
Great video. If I see your AS Van I am going to put an apple tag on it.
Lol, I think a few other people would like to do that as well!
Great job out there! Persistence is key with pesky Pike!
Thanks for the comment
Would be fun to see you catch them on topwater lures like the whopper plopper especially shallow weedline areas. Those blowups can give you adrenaline on another level.
Next time I am there I will try it for sure. Didnt have any with me.
Huge!!!
So much fun!
Hi Sean, would love to know where you got your fishing rod holder from. I have a similar Pelican kayak.
Thanks & appreciate your videos.
Thanks, I got them at bass pro, but that was six years ago. They should be available online still
Nice. You need to get a bigger net! I really want to know the lake, but understand and appreciate you keeping it quite!
I've only been at it for a few years around Calgary, 100% catch&release, but lakes producing lots of 34" pike 3 years ago are now very poor.
Yep, the net is definitely too small for those fish. Made a promise about not sharing that spot, but yes they are rare for sure. Thanks for the comment.
Will you share the location of this wonderful new lake?
@@martinsiedlecki- if you see it report it. If not don’t spread rumours.
Unfortunately I cant for this one. I got the location from a sub, and promised not to
@@AnglingSpiders - Totally reasonable!
Location if u can nice huge pikes❤️
I got this location from a sub, and promised not to share, sorry
selamat malam
Thank you!
