Just thought I'd mention. If you press the wrong button and end up taking pictures accidentally, you could upload them as a sideshow. I'd definitely watch it, as I think most of your viewers would. Watching a fellow northerner cooking the best grub on UA-cam makes me feel all warm inside 😊
@@thedinnerlady9180 I miss living at home and having everything homecooked by my mum. Your dishes take me back to those days. I'm going to give the panackelty a go. I'd never heard of it, but it looks amazing. I'm from North Yorkshire, so it's slightly more northern than me, so I've definitely got to try it. Do I have to remove the fat from the bacon before cooking?
After my wife passed away, I was always at a loss what to eat "not interested in ready meals from the supermarket", thank you so much for the inspirations in your videos.
I could eat 20 of them dumplings..another banger!..hope you are feeling better btw...I'm really happy your channel is taking off,I swear when I first followed last week you had 1.k subscribers, did I just see 8k?
I love custard. My Grandmother and my Mother made it every year for Christmas and New Year’s. I think I’ve only made it once. My husband and kids weren’t that impressed with it, they would rather have the store bought 😂😂😂😂 our custard is a drink sorta like egg nog but thicker. Separate the eggs and whip the egg whites and fold it into the egg mixture that had been boiled. My favorite meal was chicken and dumplings. My Mom made for me on every birthday. She fixed it other times too, but especially for our birthday (I was born on her birthday 😂😂) she made the dumplings like fluffy noodles. Yum
I am so glad I came across your videos. Is it possible to put the ingredients in list. It would make it easier to get the ingredients. Again I love your videos.❤
Hello, I hope you are feeling better! The stew looks delicious! I already subscribed the other day when I first found you and today was your 500th like and I know there will be many more! The roly poly and custard look amazing!
Wow, I can almost smell the deliciousness of the Chicken Stew with dumplings. Followed by Jam Roly Poly - bliss!l Hope you're feeling well again Mand! x
I have some chicken theighs in the fridge, now I know what I’m going to do with them. I’ve never seen dumplings made that way so I’ll give them a go too ❤
Those dumplings look so nice the cheese is a great edition never thought of that!will definately be trying them.chicken stew looked beautiful, once again my mouth was watering, it’s 11 o’clock now watching this!so I’m going to have to settle for a biscuit.also love the pot you were cooking stew in nice size. Oh this looks so good as usual. I love how you used chicken thigh fillet on the bone. They are far more tasty and moist than the breast fillets, which I hardly ever use. Luckily I have some thing very similar for dinner tonight otherwise Id be hankering for what you cooked. Creamy chicken curry with rice, it's always delicious. My grandmother used to make her rolly polly with quinces when they were available. She always made egg custard to go with it too. It brings back very found memories for me, just seeing your hubby eat it. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you are feeling allot better today. All the best from Australia.
Mam was a school meals cook for years in South Shields and Dad was a bus driver. Whenever she made chicken stew she would bring me some leftovers 😊😊 one of my favourites xx
This looks so tasty. Proper home cooked food, love it. Ian has a wonderful job tasting the recipes. I've got to make this one for the family. I'm looking forward to seeing the jam roll poly and Custard Thanks so much 😊
I love your video because we can learn out to do stuff we've never done, but again there is some of the video missing. The bit where you should show is what you do after you have mixed the dumpling mixture up and put them in with the stew. For someone who is learning out to cook, they need all the video of each step. Isn't that what your video are for, for people to learn how to cook stuff? Have you got the recipes written down on UA-cam or is there only videos? x
I have never in all my years in America made chicken stew,I don’t remember my Mom making it either,it was always rabbit stew, which I don’t think people eat anymore.I always seem to either roast chicken breasts,or pan fry in bread crumbs, sometimes poach, then use in enchiladas,or chicken salad,or a tortilla soup,,or chicken/corn chowder, that sort of thing. Chef John on UA-cam today did Korean chicken, looked delicious, take a look.
That looks absolutely smashing nanna. We make our own chicken stock from chicken carcasses, i bet using that aswell as stock cubes would would add even more flavour.
That was almost painful LOL... I mean seeing the jam roly-poly at the start of the video was bad enough, but having to watch it being eaten by Ian at then end was borderline sadism! LOL Hope Mand feels better soon 👍
I've had chicken stew and dumplings at least once a week over winter. I have through necessity used proper manky cheap margarine instead of suet. As a guideline I use two thirds flour, one third fat. However make it fifty fifty flour to fat, i.e. half self raising, quarter fat (in this case co-op margarine) and a quarter parmesan plus a significant amount of fresh thyme. The chicken bones, veg peelings and skins all go into the stock box in the freezer.
@@thedinnerlady9180 seriously, I’d eat it every day but I shy away from type two diabetes. In other news, today I used up some sprouting taties to make a pile of tatie scones. Ideal freezer fodder and breakfast for a week for about 30p.
