The river at the hanging bridge is NOT the Caldera River. Rio Caldera is the one you stopped at with the steep stairs. The hanging bridge river is Rio Chiriqui Nuevo. That hanging bridge is sketchy, metal plates that aren't fastened down, it works but I wouldn't drive more than one vehicle over it at a time. The first pool you showed is actually the hottest, then less hot the next one you showed, with the third closest to the river the least hot. There is also a different hot spring, La Abuela, if you turn right after the hanging bridge then drive another 15 minutes. It is 6km from the main road but takes 30 minutes to drive the rough road. This hot springs you can drive right up to the lawn, walk over to the only pool (manmade 10 x 20 feet), also showers and toilets at this one. But no close river access and the water is only 'very warm'. We prefer the one shown in this video but the other one is ore accessible for people with mobility issues.

@@freedom55adventure The asphalt into the closer springs was getting very very bad, needed to use 4x4 on our truck just a few months ago but the owner has just recently put down new asphalt for the part from the bridge to the parking area turnoff. Hoping it wasn't damaged this last week with the rains!

Are all/most roads like the ones you were traversing on like that throughout Panama?

Hi, yes the roads are mostly like that. You have to learn to watch for and avoid pot holes
