Awwww yeah!!! Man I absolutely LOVE the 1604-VLZ PRO! Quick story...it was also my first mixer. Worked at the local music store back in '98-'99 and, thankfully, we became a Mackie dealer around that same time. They had just released that year's mixers & they had just put out their first line of powered speakers so I went all in and got the 1604 and a pair of SR1530s...at dealer cost. Man I was in heaven! Long story short, i just busted it back out...was sitting not working for years and I opened it up and cleaned it out..brought it back to life and it's doing what it does and making everything sound amazing along with having every connection I need. So cool to see your video and find someone who's connected to it in a similar way. Glad I came across your channel...dig the music a lot and great work. Subscribed
You use the Group Inserts to send to DAW..but I think the newer Mackies have only 4 .so if you have 12 channels you want to send to DA4 you would have to Group 4 channels 3 times.. ✌️
Owned one...made in USA. Loved it... until my friend brought his Midas Venice Mixer to compare it. Damn... the MAckie sounded so whimpy and harsh. The mids were nasal sounding too. The bass were flabby and lack the tightness. Sold my Mackie and bought the Midas Venice.
Cool lil mixer, i bought a Behringer 24ch mx8000 mixer last year. Its an old one, but got allot of IO/inserts. Still gotta get some more interfaces so i can hook it up to the pc. Bless
That beat is so dope! Thanks for the suggestion. I've been looking for a good mixer solution cause I've accumulated a few drum machines, samplers, etc. and I've got outboard compressors and effects I'd like to add (compression, reverb, delay, etc.).
as i say above.. be very careful, the pictures or titles on Reverb from sellers may be wrong. I bought a CR 1604 vlz... which is different from 1604 vlzPro
The “budget” holy grail mixing console and interface since 2011 for multi out drum machine dudes in my imo was the firewire mackie onyx 1640i or midas venice for recording. The new one now is the ssl big six with a fusion and bus+ on the master out. 🔥
Great solid mixer and I still use mine from the 90’s. Question about the set up. You have 8 channels going from the MPC into the Mackie. Can you mix down and go directly back to the MPC? Or do you need to go into another source?
l bought a little, used Vox amp from Guitar Center that they advertised as 'WORKS FINE' ! Guess what kids it didn't work at all because it had no plug. l called and they connected me to shipping where l was told ''Duh, l guess it didn't come with one''. So much for their word.
People say that cr 1604 sounds much better than vlz 1604. I doubt it but most people say that thats why i was allways looking for cr one. So bro whats your thought between og cr 1604 and this one first gen 1604 vlz. I can get one for 100€
NO WAY.. i was just bummed because i have a CR on the way... then i see this vid... you have to be careful when buying, mackie made this a little confusing
@@dojotelevision7076 Sounds fine too me.. I don't have enough experience with these devices to have cultivated the ear to be like, "Oh this sounds amazing!!.. or like sh1t.." etc.
I love the ORIGINAL American Mackies, and use the 1202VLZ for my live DJ mix projects...It's flkat and clear..Just be careful touching the EQs because you will trash your music easily..

May Yahweh bless you brother 🙏

PeaceFromOz
I just won a mint condition 1604 vlz 4 for £200
Cant wait to use it with my drum machines
is there any possible way to have this routed to a DAW so the faders effect the tracks?

i tried to get mackie bus 8 but i ended up with tascam M-06. Really good for that dirt.

Nice mixer! I personally use a Soundcraft FX16 II....
Thank you bro !! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💯💯💯💯💯

directly from back of the MPC
How did you get each sound on different channels
Akai MPC 3000 has 8 mono outputs. He just fed each output into the first 8 input channels on the mixer.
DJ Rock what mixer under 2 grand would you recommend to color/ dirty / gritty the sound primarily drums ?
Much Respect !
toft ATB 24 if you can get one for that price range
I have an mpc one and a mackie 1202
Love it🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🕊️
Great workhorse mixers.

I do use a Mackie mixer with Onyx
hey I just copped one of these from my job's fire sale and the inputs are static-y sometimes, do you know what that is? I'm assuming it's user error
I recently came into owning this mixer and have not had a chance to mess with it, but how is this in a small live set-up?
🖤

How does this test against a Soundcraft Spirit Studio?
How you feel about the GL2400 ??
Are u from NOLA or Louisiana?
u mention 4 band eq... but it IS 3 band... hi 12khz, adjustable mid and 50hz low... it's 4 knobs, but 3 band EQ
1 error its a 32 8 bus
2nd error the 32 8 bus Mackie also have 4 eq.
Im guessing that in 3 years these will cost $1500, thanks to reverb and youtube.
I don’t go to guitar go on Facebook market place
FCK... thisd has the preamps.. the CR 1604 VLZ i different... buyer beware... look closely at pictures on Reverb
Did you purchase the CR 1604 Vlz on reverb how do you like
