At Los Tacos No. 1, the best tacos in New York City, the adobada taco reigns supreme, which is a taco very similar to tacos al pastor. Nopal tacos are also offered there, which are known as grilled cactus tacos. Carne asada and pollo asado are also popular choices, as well as horchata.

CHELSEA MARKET
75 9th Avenue, New York, NY 10011
UA, I went to Los Tacos at Chelsea today for the first time, based on you recommendation. That pork taco is a life changer. Truly the best taco I've ever had. Thanks!
I'm glad you included that fun fact about the origin of the meat on the spit. I learned that on my trip to Mexico and when the locals told me where the spit came from, it made so much sense and I really had a "ohhhhhhh" moment.
Yeah the origins of foods is always so fascinating!
Your channel is gonna blow up! I swear. Your enthusiasm + great ability to describe food.... you will go far!
I love your optimistic outlook! Thanks for your support!
Completely agree! And congratulations on 20.000 followers now! : D
I have visited NYC 4 times a year over the last 20 years and I go to Los Tacos No 1 (I call it Numero Uno) every time I arrive, and again when I depart. I just had them again on Friday and Saturday and I promise you they are the best tacos north of the border.
They are opening a new location at Penn Station just up the street.
We came here once on a trip to the city and my wife still talks about it! Loved it. Great vid as usually, UA.
We love los tacos! Def one of the best taco joints in the city. Thanks UA for such great reviews and content!!
Awesome video.
So genuine, I love it.
these are awesome man, keep it up! there's not much quality content on youtube, this is it!

Wow thanks for such kind words. You've made my day. It's a lot of work to keep making these videos in my free time and putting myself out there in public but feedback like this makes it all worth it. I'll keep making vids as long as people say they enjoy them!
He's right!
Brilliant content and you're genuinely one of the best food reviewers on here, definitely more subscribers to come!

Great video as always! Haven't been to Chelsea Market since we moved
Awesome video thanks for all the tips. You're clips always make me hungry 😋
I sometimes get hungry rewatching them
Excellent video as always UA! You should check out some of the restaurants in Asbury Park!
I was there tonight ! You are correct. This place is very good.
The cactus taco paired with the chili between bites sounds like it'd be an epic combo
Congrats man this was a awesome video !Yummy 😋
Fantastic episode. Loved your reviews of the tacos and Alex's killer hot pepper.
Glad you liked the vid! The pepper was hot but had nice flavor
Great review UA!!!!
Thanks!
The only taco that compares to Los tacos No. 1 are at taqueria Ramirez in Greenpoint Brooklyn. Authentic street tacos and always packed! Worth checking out!
Another great video!
Thanks!
Al pastor versus adobada is slightly different. Al pastor is cooked on that turning spit and adobada is either cooked on a grill or braised in a oven. Adobada means "marinated " and both are very similar.
Pro tip "H" is silent in spanish so it's pronounced Or-cha-ta.
Reminds me of a place called Taco torte in El Paso tx. Originally born in Juarez Mexico....they opened 3 locals here. Nice portions and fresh condiments station.
Another great video review!! I will definitely check out Los Tacos next time I'm in NYC. I was on vacation in Mexico and eating tacos on the beach. I asked for extra spicy and they gave me some chillis like the ones you ate near the end. Nearly blew my head off lol.
Those are some very hot peppers indeed! Must've been an amazing trip though, I've never been to Mexico before
I need to eat w you one day haha you seem to know all the great places 😊
Love your videos man, so sincere and enthusiastic. Hope your channel blows up and you get the subscribers and views you deserve!

The no cap part was funny lol

Thanks for sharing UA
Thanks for watching!
Love los tacos . Gotta visit again some time
It's awesome!
Wow❤
I’m addicted to your content! Thx for feeding me
And I'm addicted to reading all the nice comments! Thanks for watching!
Love the video UA! Taco taco next time!
Good idea!
You have to get the off menu items from Los Tacos #1 like the vampiro tacos. Those are the best.
I know your food is delicious when you say, "Uhh! Mmm! Ahh!" Amazing looking tacos. I gotta make a trip to Chelsea Market. Thanks!
Yep I'm an open book!
You are right that Pastor is pork with the pineapple, but it's usually a much brighter red due to being marinated in a red Chile salsa prior to cooking for authentic Pastor. That place still looks so legit and the Horchata looked so good!
Great review the tacos look awesome that's coming from a jersey guy who has been living in La for 25 years no shortage of Mexican Cuisine here I love all the street food and privately-owned joints ! They know how to do it I know you were at Chelsea Market in the city $5 of Taco would not fly here they won't buy it however you only live once love your videos !
Yeah you're right they were a little pricey. It's Chelsea Market though so gotta expect it
I need these tacos in my life! 🌮
Me too. Maybe I'll swing by again soon!
I love your videos UA. Have you ever considered to try more different foods in each video? Everything in the Market looks so good! :)
That's not a bad idea. Right now I've been just doing one restaurant per video but I guess I could always try to fit in more than one spot!
Yeah definitely a good spot! In the warmer weather, it's nice to take the order to go and sit up on The Highline! Another good taco spot is Mad Dog & Beans down in FiDi.... You should check it out!
I'd love to see you review Taqueria Sante Fe on 2248 1st Ave sometime!
I tried this place and it was as good as the best tacos I ate in LA. The sauce was authentic!
Of course I also like LA's Baja Fresh..normal but good
You should try Queens for tacos. Try Taco Veloz in Roosevelt Ave and 85st
I visited Chelsea Market last year and wanted to try Los Tacos, but was turned off by the humongous line. Good to know the line moves fast, I will give it a shot next time I am in that area. Great video, thanks for the seating tip as well!
Yeah I'm not gonna sugar coat it, the line is long. Even during offpeak hours like in my vid, expect a wait. But it is rather efficient. I recommend trying it at least once!
I work right around there, if you're ever in the area again let me know. I usually go downstairs to the basement and get some bubble tea lol
I was surprised by how good these tacos were. As good as anything I had in LA
Just tried some horchata at a local Mexican restaurant that my wife & I frequent. Good, a bit like a thin milkshake in texture, but too sweet for my taste. Going back to coffee next time we go.
You have to try Taqueria Ramírez in Greenpoint!! 🌮🌮🌮
Most underrated food blogger.
Thank you!
Best taco places I’ve tried were in the Los Angeles area where my grandparents lived. Those were the days! Never had a cactus taco before - seems like they have potential if you just have the right ingredients, who knows? Thanks for another vid!
Yes. There are many good taco vendors in the Los Angeles area. He could do a sampling of three or four a day for a week and give a top 5 or 10 places to go to.
The "H” in Spanish is silent. Horchata is awesome, I need to try this spot when I go to NYC in August. Coming from L.A. I’ll see how good those tacos are ☺️They do look good.
Keep going, just as people says you are gonna blow up! Great content. Could you visit Club A stakehouse :)?
I also eat while watching food 😋 videos. I used to just watch the delicious food and I couldn't stand 😩 it , made me starve !!
Los Mariscos (also in the Chelsea Market) is also a must try
Evening my lad! It's nice to see such an amazing amount of growth for your channel recently (and I hope you had a lovely meal at Wolfgang with the fiance!).
May I recommend a place for you to try if you're ever in the mood for seafood/Greek food?
Yes the channel has been doing well! And the Wolfgang's meal was lovely. I'm always all ears for recs
@@uaeats Great to hear!
If you're ever in the Astoria area of Queens, "Taverna Kyclades" and "Telly's Taverna" are two choices that I enjoy (Kyclades is usually a lot more busier than most in the area) . Both are heavy on seafood, but they do have other options as well. There are a lot of good options (like Swordfish and their Greek style Burgers with lemon potatoes as a side) but I'd highly recommend getting grilled octopus and "Saganaki" as an appetizer for either of those restaurants!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
That looks delicious! OMG. BTW, you can find jars of "Nopalitos" in many grocery stores. (I've seen them in Food Lion and Kroger.) They're sliced cactus bits that look very much like French-cut green beans. My wife refers to them as "Mexican snaps." She likes to add some to the better-than-restaurant-quality beef-based spaghetti sauce she makes. (Please do not inform the Italian embassy; I don't wish to confront a group of upset carabinieri at my front door!)
I might look into getting some of those nopalitos sometime! I feel they'd go well in some Chinese stir fry dishes
@@uaeats Could be! Enjoy!
I've eaten here; it's good, but you can find better easily. Some great trucks around the city or at Taco Mix, which blows this place away.
Try Taqueria Ramirez on Franklin Street in Brooklyn. So incredibly good.
Tacos No 1 are great. You have to visit Taqueria Ramirez in greenpoint, those are 100% authentic Mexico City street tacos. I would love for you to try them!
Great videos!
Amazing rec! They look great. I'll need to try them sometime soon!
Hey UA have you been to Jackson Diner in Queens for Indian? Definitely worth checking out
For your comment about the El pastor tacos, they started from Jordanian immigrants that went to Mexico. Another fun fact, dos Equis comes from Germans who moved to Mexico. Also that place has the best tortillas I have ever had.
Looks as good as on the streets of Tijuana. Living on the east coast I long for those! Back in the 1980’s they were never more than 50 cents each with unlimited toppings 😊
Wow 50 cents? Booking flight now!
Try the pastor at Taqueria Ramirez in Brooklyn
Love the adobada from Los Tacos #1! UA if you’re looking for some new spots I love El Ranchero Taqueria in JC on 2nd st. Unassuming mom n pop place with friendly service. Cabeza tacos, Birria soup, chicken and Chile tamales all great. Want to try more things
I've been there! That place rocks. I especially like their tamales and I may even prefer their horchata to Los Tacos No. 1
UA you should try Shackflaps in Morristown!
Edison NJ! Great Korean food too!
Whats up Nancy!
Damn Alex did you dirty in the end!
He got me!
The marinated pork tacos from Los Tacos is incredible. By far the best on the menu. Have you tried the Al Pastor tacos from Tacombi? Those are amazing as well.
Thanks for the rec!
theres a taco truck out on roosevelt ave , queens. suppose to be really good
AWESOME video... Chili de Arbol is king of chilies for flavor in Mexican cuisine... it could be very spicy or flavorful if you know what combination of onions and tomatoes to mixe it with. I would like to see the other fusion Mexican food video, and other restaurants in NYC.
I feel like maybe I was supposed to put the pepper in the taco, but I'm still glad I tried it!
@@uaeats You did it right. Chilli de Arbol is spicy. When you mix it with the right Ingredients you could have an amazing spicy or mild sauce...
Best food review channel on UA-cam, keep it up UA
goto the other store by grand central shorter lines.
Looks like the spice shop closed down next door
2:40 currywurst has only it´s name because, theres a little sprinkle of curry powder over the whole dish . It´s Bratwurst with a ketchup based, thick, sweet, spicy, sauce...and then the sprinkle of curry powder ...perfect with some fries and mayo ....greetings from germany :)
I am from Northern California and Los tacos no. 1 is my favorite taco of all time, I honestly don’t know how tacos can get better than those, no cap
I greatly enjoy them as well!
I’m going to nyc Sunday can you please tell me exactly how you order those? Thanks!!!!
Try the Currywurst! You'll love it.
It's on the list!
Good video, UA. I might have missed it but you should include the prices
I did! When I first introduce each food before eating I noted the prices. Also towards the end of the video I have a shot of the menu and the prices may be visible there as well
@@uaeats 👍😊my bad
Los Tacos No. #1
He lined you up at the end with that pepper😂
What did I ever do to him? :'(
@@uaeats 😂💯
Haven't been to Chelsea Market since the pandemic. It looks really packed.
Any JC Indian recommendations?
Yeah I haven't seen it this packed in a while, especially considering it's winter time. Mithaas, Honest, and bikanervala in JC are pretty good!
@@uaeats Thanks! I live in Jersey City so I'm always looking for new suggestions.
Mister Taco in New Rochelle, NY. Get the chorizo and/or chicken tacos!
Since you do a lot in Jersey City, Tacoria and Taqueria are just as good if not better IMO. And there's no long line and cheaper prices!
Taqueria Downtown has an amazing steak taco. Very spicy though!
Can you try Sadelles in NYC?
Nice review and a few comments to someone that is married to a Mexican from Mexico...Corn Tortillas is a must in Mexican cultural(cooking) as Flour tortillas are for gringos. If you are going to order tacos from an authentic Mexican restaurant, you need to order Chorizo tacos or just by itself. That's the test of Authenticity as if they are using Spanish sausage then NG. Mexican Chorizo also tends to be spicier than Spanish chorizo and darker in color due to the spicy red pepper in the mix.
Thanks for sharing! I hear you're right about corn tortillas but I wasn't completely sure so I didn't say that in the video. And yep I always get chorizo tacos when I go to a taco place and for me it's a gauge of the overall quality of the taco joint
not 100% true, flour tortillas are very popular in Northern Mexico
Flour tortillas are for gringos? Northern Mexico, especially the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora…it’s all about four tortillas, bro. Don’t worry, even Southern Mexicans are oblivious to this cuisine fact as well. Norteños are also the tallest Mexicans, because the bulk of their diet is beef…as those states are cattle country. Carne asada con tortillas the harina is king there. BTW, their burritos are not huge like in the Mexican-American ones.. They tend to be thin, just carne asada with a plain roll up tortilla. No beans, rice, sour cream, cheese…just beef, flour tortilla, and salsa. Cabrito also is a staple of norteño cuisine. Even their menudo is different from its southern counterpart. In the south, menudo has no hominy, the broth tends to be clear, and served with corn tortillas. In the north, menudo broth is red with hominy and served with a bolillo (bread). Mexico is a vast country with different cuisines, music, accents, etc. But in southern Mexico, corn tortilla is obviously king.
@@grahamperry3773 Exactly! Viva Chihuahua, cabrones!!!
The main difference between Mexican and Spanish chorizo is the texture. Mexican chorizo is brittle and breaks down when cooking. Spanish chorizo is a solid sausage, like Polish. Doesn’t break down. Chorizo goes best with scrambled eggs and potatoes. Also a great add in for refried beans. I’m not keen on tacos de chorizo that much, they are not really that coveted as a stand alone taco in Mexico. The go to tacos are: al pastor, carnitas, carne asada, barbacoa, birria, suadero, pollo, tripas, lengua, chicharrones, and pescado frito. The lower end on my own personal spectrum are cesos and chorizo. They both lack that serious bite. Texture is too mushy. Oh, and one that’s super popular in the Yucatan region, tacos de cochinita pibil, Holly shit, those are screaming. And then we have mole poblano, quesadillas de Oaxaca de tortilla azul, Chile rellenos a la veracruzana, caldo de siete mares, mariscos a la campechana, camarones al mojo de aja, flautas de pollo, sopes de Sayula, tostada de patas de puerco, tacos de canasta, menudo, pozole, pipián, cajeta, duros, churros, caldo de res, ceviche, tejuino, pulque, tequila, mezcal, and I could go on, and on. I’ll be here all week…
Tacos look aboslutely amazing quality. But I want some kick to mine too, like hot salsa and jalapenos. Its mandatory for tacos to me that they have some hot in them.
Try Taqueria Ramirez in Greenpoint!
Thanks for the rec!
Chelsea Market trip is incomplete without Very fresh noodles
Funny thing . I had tacos number 1 today, lol.
"Today was a good day" - Ice Cube
❤️❤️❤️🌮🌮
Yooooo. That shit looks dummy good! How tf can I be down lol?!
Cafe Spice in Grand central is good for Indian Food in NYC.
The place is legit. My GF and I went there twice and the quality is very consistent. They deserve the amount of business that they're getting. When you put your heart and soul into your cooking, people will pick it up instinctually.
It's very very good. You'd think it's a tourist trap but no it's so legit. Popular for a reason
6:12, well in that case il drink the beer, "can't go to waste"
Try Mexicue in mid-town
