I remember finding this video after I said goodbye to my first girlfriend before she headed back to Germany. This song made me sad but hopeful that we would be together again after I made enough money to travel there. This was 10 years ago, I never saw her again and never made it out there. This song was with me when my life went from being a kid into a full fledged adult, what a crazy thing. All things happen for a reason and I am just glad I can still remember that this song helped me a lot. Thanks pinback.
Pinback is the God Damned Truth. Their songwriting and melodies and rhythm and lyrics show us how rich life can be! We are all heroes, villains, bystanders, creators, surfers, and so much more. I'm just projecting my own personal experience and truth because Pinback has been there for me since I was about 9 or 10, which is now 15 years ago. I saw Rob and Zach on Fuel TV playing 'Good to Sea' on this show called the Daily Habit. For those who don't know, Fuel TV was an extreme sports channel. The Daily Habit was a kind of talk show within that realm that featured live musical performances. The song stuck in my head. Ba ba ba ne ne nana ni ni na ni ni na na ---- Anyways, I forgot the name of the band who played that sick catchy song. A year or two later I found them on youtube. Sure enough Pinback and skateboarding got intertwined in my world. The rest is history. I've rambled enough. One last note - Anticipating prospective concertlessness in the US in the coming months I will take this as my dose of live Pinback for the next year... Or whoever the fuck knows how long. I hope anyone who reads this is feeling good. Peace
Going through loss and this is so soothing. Found it in someones old pinback playlist and this just sooths the spirit. I love the low fidelity from 18 years ago now. Im right there in the room though.
i can listen to this song on repeat for hours and get lost in it. such a beautiful melody. and at 2:43 is where you hear pinbacks simplistic brilliance...
My Sun brought me here. That makes me happy. I first heard pinback when he played an acoustic version of ‘shag’. I know I’m biased, but as cool as pinback is, I prefer his version (my brilliant ‘sun’Jakob, vox/lead, lyricist and song writer of MOCKTAG) ❤ -his poser mom
best part is "hahh.........Hahh" by mr. robifer crowester. the fact that I'm seeing a green yo-yo on the table blows my consciousness into the sun and beams it back into another brain, that's rad!
Great song by a great band... in the long tradition of sea shanties and train songs. I love this low key version. Look up Blind Willie Skalman's rendition.
Yea I've been a Pinback fan for years and I have no idea why they are fucking huge by now. I havent met anyone who hasn't liked them when I play it for them.
yaaa, and not to many people know of them, So when I play my weed music there like who is this and im like.. pinback, then there like ahhh I need this on my Ipod.
@shelladanae I discovered both of their side projects and love them!! well most of them.. some are a little bizarre :) but Heavy Vegetable, Thingy, Goblin Cock, System's Officer, and Three Mile Pilot are all great, and you can really what they both bring to Pinback.
I really love this song and would love playing it. Theres a tab online for the intro but iwould love if s1 could tab out the chords played for me, thanks
@ImSuperKewl Music is art. It looks to most people like some pieces of art have transitioned into something greater, but that's not true. It's always been subjective. The subjectivity gets lost lost in the fact that some musicians try harder, are more creative, have better intentions, etc., but the definition must be kept pure, no matter the quality of your palate. With all that out of the way, I fucking love Pinback.
fair enough haha, but I do pirate music...not all, I buy albums and merch at shows I attend to show support. But I still do merch, I spread the love to many people though and get the name out there, bring many many friends to new shows they we never go to otherwise, in my defense.
@SweatyManChest It most definitely is an original Pinback song. Anybody who is a fan of Pinback could tell you this, along with anybody who may not be a fan of Pinback, but knows how to read tags on a youTube video. Go back to the Blind Willie Skalman cover and read the tags.
Coldplay is good but their just different than Pinback. It's apples and oranges. I wonder how coldplay would have turned out if they had'nt got so popular. Pinback is and hopefully always will be "about the music" The best music i've probably ever heard!
hey c'mon man, you know absolutely nothing about me, I got blazed, listened to this and really enjoyed the feel fo it. That's that, nothing beyond. But to attack my music credentials, that is just pointless my friend.

Why are these two not massively popular? You can see they really put everything into their music unlike most of pop music today.

12:38am in OrangeCounty CA and just remembered this amazing video I came across when it was barely 2 years old. 13 years went by pretty quick.
My absolute favorite band ever. They sound so amazing live!!! I can't WAIT for their new album next year!

It seems like most people don't have the attention span anymore required to really appreciate this type of music.

Wow! Skinny Rob, and Zach has lead vocals! I feel like I stepped into bizzaro world.
that intro plays in my head at least once a day
takes me back to highschool when I first heard these guys...man oh man

@SweatyManChest Well... the possibility of time travel hadn't crossed my mind before. Thanks that clears everything up. ; )
breath is taken away.
Pinback is uniquely radical
@shelladanae I discovered both of their side projects and love them!! well most of them.. some are a little bizarre :) but Heavy Vegetable, Thingy, Goblin Cock, System's Officer, and Three Mile Pilot are all great, and you can really what they both bring to Pinback.
Pinback is bad ass !!!

not complex ~ their just not overproduced with things such as pro tools. it is the simple, raw aspect of their music keeps them somewhat underground
