Very very sketchy paddle out! Foam couldnt sense direction or see if sets were approaching and just hearing 5 surfers died in neatherlands last year getting stuck in foam! Anyway we made it through into keyhole and what a spokfest stuck in down drafts of boils in the water felt like it wanted to pull you down below while you paddled, meanwhile large sets approaching. After that session turned alright but all in all not a safe session lol rescue would have been near impossible if injury was sustained, we kept it safe as we could!

Going out on a cold and wild day like that, at a rarely surfed slab, with the sketchiest paddle out, not knowing any line ups and then somehow finding some makeable gems…….truly world-class and had me glued to my seat!

@@shorebreak69 agree there was definitely a strong rip along the channels in the reef, but there were some solid sets and some dry reef slab sections that you would definitely want to avoid 😮

Nate's assessment at the end of the video was SPOT ON! The rip at the place where he paddled out, is what made that paddle out possible. But, that same rip would have made it impossible to get in!

@@joegibbs2508 Totally agree. 💯 Trying to come in there would've been an absolute nightmare! Didn't exactly look that friendly where they did end up coming in either! 😬🤣 And no doubt that paddle out, whilst ultimately not particularly difficult, woulda been seriously intense! All that water moving and energy in the water. Pretty much just at the mercy of the rip there. Definitely not for the feint of heart! Hellmen only!! 🤙

It's amazing. I just turned 60 two days ago, but it's not like this safety first/paranoid/pussy? attitude started then.
I grew up at the Wedge, surfed all over California including the Red Triangle (alone many times) since I was 10, been all over Hawaii, including the North Shore seven times.
Now I go to higher elevation in both of my houses to check for sharks before going in to my swimming pools.
I didn't over do it with the drugs and alcohol.
Is getting smarter (more aware of all the possible trouble), dumber?
Is it that you realize that there is a subtle art to staying alive, because you are reminded everyday than many don't. So as a result you gain a greater sense of self-respect and/or self-preservation?
I've been to the Wedge four times in the last three weeks and it didn't cross my mind for one second to go in the ocean.
I will never admit to writing this. Thank you, Pastor

Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross for you because He loves you so much. He then rose up from the dead three days later.
The Ten Commandments are called the moral law, (most of us are lying, thieving, blasphemous and adulterer at heart) you and I broke the law Jesus paid the fine that’s what happened on that cross.
By believing that Jesus died on the cross and rose up from the dead 3 days later and not just confessing your sin, but also repenting of all sin you have done and putting all your trust in Him in prayer, He will grant you everlasting life as a free gift.

Great surfing! Its very beautiful in Scotland. I've been to Scotland two different times all the way from kalapana. A total of 4 months in all. Swam and body surfed everyday, a different island or location every week. Even got opihi there in the Hebrides. But this is too good. Scary good. Get one for me

Looks like a mini version of Shipstearn, awesome way Nate found the sweet spot numerous times considering the currents and how quick the drift was. What a pro, being able to read the top and the bottom simultaeously.
