It’s good to see MatPat back on the channel. And surprising to see a New Game Plus on a Saturday. Either way, fantastic episode. Glad to see you getting close to finishing playing the original games again and being almost halfway through the produced episodes.
I remember playing Metroid Prime at a Wal-Mart Gamecube kiosk long before I ever owned it or a Gamecube of my own, and felt a combination of wonder at what had been my FIRST FPS experience and solving puzzles, and nausea because around the Gamecube era was when I discovered I suffered horribly from motion sickness, and couldn't play games from that generation onwards as long as I had been able to play Super Nintendo and N64 games. I also believe that Metroid Prime was actually my first exposure to the Metroid series, since I'd missed Super Metroid on the SNES despite being a 90s kid with a Super Nintendo (I had Mario and Donkey Kong Country, but missed Star Fox, Metroid, and Kirby) and never picked up Metroid Fusion. Nowadays I've put time into a fair number of Metroid titles, I've beaten Super Metroid a handful of times and enjoyed it immensely, played all three Metroid Prime games and ultimately picked up the Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii (I'm hoping they will re-release it for the Switch since I will DEFINITELY purchase it), tried out NES Metroid, Fusion, and Zero Mission, completed Other M once to mixed feelings, and am looking forward to Metroid Dread whenever it comes out.
It is good to see you and Matt still collaborating. You guys are one of the few older personalities that still demonstrate what a deep friendship you share! I hope you will still be friends and complete cyberpunk 2077 in 2077.

To complete your log you have to scan everything alive and everything with a RED scan symbol. If it's not alive and has an orange scan symbol, you don't have to scan it.
Another fantastic video. Seeing how this version of Metroid Prime incorporates so much from the later games in the trilogy, I really appreciated how you reflected on how this changed the experience for the better and worse. If and when the trilogy is ever ported to the Switch, I wonder if this will end up feeling its original Gamecube version or if the Wii controls will be maintained in some form. Also, just wanted to comment that I always appreciate Jirard's dynamic with MatPat.
I’m happy y’all agree that this is the best way to play the Prime games. I remember when I played 3, I was really hoping to see the rest of the series play the Same way, and god damn I was so happy when I saw the Trilogy release. Any lover of Metroid needs this game. Even if they are new, this is a great way to drop in.

MatPat over here saying how 7 years flies by quickly, but I'm here thinking about how A) this game came out 2 years before I was born and B) it's now been 19 years
I never really found the scanning that bad. Aside from the bosses, there are only a couple missable scans. And I loved how much you would learn about the creatures, baddies, and environment from scanning everything. Also, the Chozo lore was pretty heckin' sad.
Metroid Prime was the first and only FPS I fell in love with. (And I had never even heard of Metroid before I played SSB Melee which came out only a year before this.) Cool weapons, beautiful sceneries, just the right amount of scary stuff...
I'm so happy the prime series is beind talked about today. I absolutely loved the games and all the details it had with the scans and adding a whole new dimension of gameplay aww yiiss. ANGRY THE WII TRILOGY WAS ONLY WIIMOTE CONTROLS. I feel like these games always reward you for looking at your map for secrets!
What was with that weird flex MatPat said saying that basically if it wasn’t for him collabing with Gerard, he wouldn’t have the numbers and popularity he has now? Like, that came off as really awkward, even if it’s true.

I don't really like rumors in general but if it is true then we'll see it.
@@Zerolink30 where did you get that info from?
Another fantastic video. Seeing how this version of Metroid Prime incorporates so much from the later games in the trilogy, I really appreciated how you reflected on how this changed the experience for the better and worse. If and when the trilogy is ever ported to the Switch, I wonder if this will end up feeling its original Gamecube version or if the Wii controls will be maintained in some form. Also, just wanted to comment that I always appreciate Jirard's dynamic with MatPat.
I always think of your old review of this game randomly. It's nice to see a brand new take on this from you & the same guest as before!
I love it when gerard and Mattpath team up
Ahhhhh my two favorite game UA-camrs
Thank you guys so much for doing this. Also Jirard, super looking forward to your new take on that original run of games. You’ve gotten so much better at process + production, so
it’s gonna be really fun to see! F the algorithm man, beard bro’s and esp completionist 4 lyfeeeee brah!
Always great to see MatPat hop on a Completionist video
MatPat over here saying how 7 years flies by quickly, but I'm here thinking about how A) this game came out 2 years before I was born and B) it's now been 19 years
Glad to see so much love for the game still going strong.
I loved scanning. I was OBSESSED with scanning
Mat Pat is the awkward friend you can’t help but love!
What was with that weird flex MatPat said saying that basically if it wasn’t for him collabing with Gerard, he wouldn’t have the numbers and popularity he has now? Like, that came off as really awkward, even if it’s true.
*"The Vast Majority Of The Prime Completion Pie Comes Down To Whipping Out That Scan Visor And Going To Work."*
I don't know why, but that just made me laugh lol! 😂😂😂
One thing I learned recently from doing a New Game+ playthrough of Prime 1 is that if you got all the scans from your last run then you never have to do it again
Well this is making me finally decide to play the prime series. It’s taken me so long to finally appreciate the post 32 bit era
I rented Prime and borrowed it from a friend back in the day. I sucked at gaming then, but still loved what little of the game I got to enjoy. Would LOVE if it (the trilogy) got a switch remaster/remake, on the Switch! Awesome episode as always Jirard! Nice tie in to isolation
Came here after completing Metroid Dread, just to reconfirm myself how much better and more content the Metroid Prime games have.
Metroid prime trilogy was extremely rare. Atleast, i recall it being a very limited release. My Wii is in storage. I should take it out sometime...
glad to see this collab again, im growing to appreciate the Prime series a lot more as well, so im hopeful that I will like Prime 4
also Jurard looks freaking dope in the Varia Suit
Mattpat got shredded in the 4 years I stopped watching him...
I couldn't even watch this. They lampshaded it but it was still cringey
What does “shredded” mean is this case?
Haven’t seen him in years I stopped watching his garbage
