I am very pleased and enthusiastic to continue learning it now after many years of trying to just ' pick it up' without really understanding the basic grammar. You are a wonderful teacher and I am so happy that I have found your channel. Greetings from the UK.

    • @LearnTurkishwithMuki

Ane Caroline Basically when a verb ends with a voiceless consonant (f, s, t, k, ç, ş, h, p), the “d” in the past tense marker (-DI) changes to “t” in order to harmonize. Since “git” ends with a voiceless consonant, you see that change in the past tense marker. Does it make sense?

Vowel Harmony and Consonant Mutation rules are applied.
