It's OK, but a it can get little Boring if I'm boxed into that look .i love minimal sneakers too,especially those by Bally and Magnanni, but I disagree that,older dudes can't add more flavor to their sneaker game.Its how you do it.How youre clothes fit and how you put it together. You can definitely rock sneakers that aren't minimal, and still be very age appropriate
I love the minimal style. I hate wearing clothes that make me feel like a walking advertisement with big logos all over the place.
I agree with you there. I'm only 20 years old, 5'8 and 160 lbs. I could definitely pull off any nike or adidas pair of shoes now, but I'm also thinking about what'll happen to me as I get older. I doubt in the next 30-40 years those will look good on me, so I'm trying to future proof myself by investing in some shoes that I know will look good on me no matter my age.

I am a ‘young’ 59 and agree. The becket simonon are very good, mine are grey and Thursdays roughout sneakers are too. My 3rd pair are puma suede clydes, wore those all my life. I rotate boots, shoes, and those sneakers. Solid video Jeff, much appreciated.

Jeff I bought koio triple whites off your rec. First time I’ve spent that much on a casual shoe. They are such a step above a white canvas shoe, which wear easily and show dirt quickly. The leather seems to keep dirt off naturally so they stay pretty white. Honestly a 10/10 addition to my wardrobe

I’m 65. I wasn’t sure leather minimal sneakers would look good on me. Decided to take the plunge and got a pair in medium brown. I love ‘em! Great with dark wash denim and just about any color chinos.

hit 40 last year and had already started selling off my J's. however, still feel like there's a balance to be struck, for me personally. definitely planning to get more minimalist sneakers as opposed to air maxes and other, but will pair up the shoes with appropriate clothing or outfit.

I am 17 years old. And I always try to wear minimalistic clothes. White Tshirt, white sneakers, dark blue pants etcetera. Because trend is go out some time later, minimalistic and classic style stay always

Do you a video talking about what color of sneaker to wear with what clothes? Does it matter? I'm a guy who struggles with color coordinating wardrobe items and you seem to have some very good advice/recommendations
What are your thoughts on Cole Haan? They fall in the same price point as the beckenstein, anywhere from 100 to $150. I'm not sure about quality of leather, but I think Cole Haan are very stylish and low profile.

My white K swiss classic's are my favorite tennis shoes to wear. They go with everything. I have brown leather and suede K Swiss Classic's.

I stopped wearing running shoes about three years ago. I went with Chuka boots ((Clarks); that's all I wear these days. They work with my khakis (casual or with a blazer).or with jeans.

I tried that Cole Haan et al thing. Did it for two years. I received compliments, but grew tired of not being myself. I'm a black attorney from Brooklyn, NY. I do pretty well and can buy what I want. I prefer hoodies and real kicks on my time. I wear that minimal sneaker stuff for certain occasions; not lifestyle.
I enjoy wearing footwear as mentioned in the video. It is more appealing when you wear the right kind of style and brand of footwear with the outfit you have on.

Minimal sneakers look great and I have a couple of pairs. What I can't shake is low top or mid Jordan, like the 1's, 3's, 4's and low top 6,7,9,11 and 12. Most of my shoes are monochromatic, especially my Yeezys. An OG colorway in nike or Jordan can bring a bit of style to my mature wardrobe. There may be a time for me to give up the Jordan's, but not right now. Not to mention the Air Max and Air Force One should be OG staples.

I just bought an all black air max 95, that seems casual and athletic. Even my dad said so this is a casual shoe? I said well originally it was a running shoe in the 90s but now its a lifestyle.

I picked up some of the Greats Royale sneakers after watching one your older videos , in White, & Black to rock and they work well. A little bulky but they work. Looking for some gray & brown as well to complete my color spectrum. You can wear them with, jeans , joggers, and dress pants . You get more use outta them which I like. OG this winter the cold weather in the North East had me look for some winter sneakers after one too many cold days outside while wearing my dress sneakers. I had brought two pairs of winter sneakers from Vans the Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX which is based on their skateboard high-top sneakers. Both in Water-repellent suede the first in gray, black side strips with a white sole and the second in ginger brown, dark brown side strips with a white sole. I aimed to keep them simple as possible and for versatility. My feet were warms on those days except for two certain days when the temperature had really dropped even lower.
I had just taken a look at the Vans website and almost all are gone. A bunch of Customs sneakers with way too many colors and too bright in colors. One type of Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX in all black leather with a gum sole is left. The last one would give you an idea of the look but imagine it in suede and the colors I had mentioned before. Hopefully, by next winter they will make more so I can get a third pair in blue.

Jeff, I don't have any basketball sneakers in my wardrobe, like you said I'm and older guy and don't rock them anymore. I have workout sneakers for when I go to the gym. I just need to increase different colors for my minimalist sneaker collection. Saaaaalute!

Hey OG I’m a 50 year old Asian dad with 2 teenage sons that are sneaker heads. I grew up always loving Jordan’s and for a time kinda gave them up as I was coming up on age. Now that my kids are whipping out so many Jordan’s, Yeezys, Sacais - I can’t help but to get sucked back in esp Jordans being like a first love. While I couldn’t really afford Jordan’s growing up they’re easier to attain now. I saw your video on giving up Jordans and it kinda broke my heart as the 13s are my all time favorite. Now seeing this video while I wholeheartedly agree with you, would you consider Nike x Sacai LD Waffle fairly minimalist? I’m mainly speaking of the grey and white CW and black and white Vaporwaffle CW. My wife abhors me wearing J1s period but I trimmed down to the University blue CW and Shadow CW - plain and subtle enough right? While I have Hermès and LV “minimalist” sneakers, man they uncomfortable after walking on them for more than an hour. Would love to hear your opinion on the Sacais and Jordans at age 50.

Good 411 on low profile minimal version. Pharrell has a primeknit sneaker by Adidas that is good for monochromatic looks. That navy outfit with white accents is fire.

My personal Observations: Four Sports TV commentators last week was siting around a table and they all had similar sneakers like you're saying. Also, Harry Rosens a high end men's shop in Toronto has most of it's male mannequins wearing low cut sneakers, with even casual suits. Hey, it's a no brainer. And i'm glad that its so widely worn, because it's very comfortable and versatile, (like a go-too shoe) to wear often.

The low profile minimal leather sneakers are like gold. Hands down. I rock them. But sometimes I feel a bit boring in them. And my personality is to mischievous to be boring so I opt for a pop of color in the shoes or outfit. I’m in Texas. And bruh it gets hot here fast. Do you know if Oliver Cabell runs a bit wide? They only go to 14. If they run small then a 14 will be tight. Koio charges you 50 bucks extra to make 15s. You must also buy 2 pair.
