The funniest part about everyone commenting about phils vocals, whether it be good or bad is that this entire performance he was in his mid range. This is literally just him in his comfortable non augmented mid vocal range. He can go atleast 4 octaves lower and maybe 2 higher. Phil is one of the best vocalists in the genre, live and studio. Is he the best? Maybe at one point, but the fact is that he's a monstrous frontman and a legend in the scene. Give the man some fucking respect.
Trust me, there is Octaves in screaming and growling if you pitch it, which is what Phil often does. 4 Octaves lower is a bit much but you definitely do talk about Octaves when writing and screaming/growling songs. As for classing it as percussion.... you don't hit your voice like? o.O

Hands down, one of the top ten metal bands I've seen over the 15 years of concerts I've been to. They put on such a killer performance every time I saw them, all 6 times.
Honestly though, feel in love with Whtiechapel after seeing them live. So heavy hitting and Phil's vocals were insane. One of the best live vocalists I've ever seen in person
I’m an old metal head and definitely late to the death core genre. Suicide Silence was my entry point and the first time i heard Phil was at Mitches memorial. I was absolutely blown away at his vocals on Unanswered. Whitechapel is forever on my rotation now.
I thought this was the studio version ripped over live footage until they stopped and i heard the crowd. wtf, how can you be that solid as a band live. That's insanely insane. The insanity boggles my thought maker.
