...I'm just gonna order a pizza again. Everyone likes Pepperoni and Sausage.
We need Dragonborn puberty
Duke: Fruit?
DM: Seasonal
Duke: *quickly attempts to eat a fruit*
DM: DUKE!
Duke: Vegetables?
DM: *slaps Duke* >:(
Cleric: *dies from 1d6 DM hates you damage*
You looking forward to the D&D movie coming out next week?
My table likes sushi and taco bell
Watching this from Europe got me thinking we should have an international dnd table where each country brings their own snacks. We don't even have double stuffed oreos where I am 😂
We have prince polo and pierogi
I should do this
i will bring mämmi!!
@@artturisiikanen3843 Not salmiakki? What kind of finn's first thought is to bring mämmi as a snack and not salmiakki...
You…don’t have …double stuffed Oreos?…Oh you poor poor Europeans 😂
I don't know anything about d&d but still love to watch your videos and because of that I have learnt the basic idea of what d&d is
....the never ending quest to discover the truth about dragonborn puberty. (But that's next week)
@@iowa89357 what
@@Adi-A it's a running gag. Specific to his videos.
I was the dinner bringer. I would bring a crockpot full of whatever - buffalo chicken dip, chili, cheddar broccoli soup with a bread bowl... and yeah having a full meal did cause the session to pause, but that just means we picked back up in a half hour ready to go!
So THAT’S why the heroes passed out in the dungeon!
I must be a heathen because the cheese and cracker platter is my go too. Carrots, apples and chips too. I detest fast food but it's because dnd is at my place and the friends never throw their items away. Bags all over, burgers forgotten in bags and drinks.
It got so bad I had to tell them no more fast food and it caused a big fight. But that's when I made it a rule of no leaving without cleaning up. Once they realized the mess they were making everytime, it was agreed to snack platters through rotation.
Yeah, that's not a food issue. That's a friend issue.
Best snack to bring to a session? The DMs favorite takeout/delivery order.
big sessions we'd have a couple pizzas, and a shrimp, a beef, and a chicken curry from the tai place on the corner. Shrimp curry on sausage and mushroom pizza was my lucky bite.
That spasm after he said Taco Bell was PERFECT!!!
The only snacks I could come up with for not making a mess would probably be protein bars, gummies, soda, jolly ranchers, chips, fast foods that don’t decimate your stomach and destroy the toilet in seconds
I keep my DM supplied with peanut butter cups
Can we appreciate Duke's ability to just multiply so he can just smack himself?
It's funny, because it was probably his wife doing so. Which means he had to specifically go ask her to slap him, cause he's trying to film a video and there's this one scene...
Its the veggies
they are multiplying too fast they will soon take over the world
I read this before the video and was so confused!!
@@carendosagomi6440😅
I like how he's like
Player: "chocolate?"
DM: "no kills dogs"
Player: "fruit cup that has grapes"
note: grapes are super deadly for dogs much more than chocolate.
Wait really
Oh well then I can’t get a dog
@@rebelush8730 dogs can also eat raw pineapple in small amounts
@@rebelush8730 Technically if you peel the grapes it is safe, the thing toxic to dogs is in the skin of the grapes
@@clarehidalgo thank you I didn’t know
@@swampfire6600 hahaha 🤣
Snacks for a D&D session only have three considerations:
1: Does it taste good? ... 2: Will it make a mess? ... 3: Is anyone allergic?
4: Is it loud? ... 5: Is it smelly?
@@catatemyname7801 We never had those problems. ✅
me when I brought Toffifee and then found out the person next to me is super allergic to nust of all kinds
very helpful
point 3 is the most important bc one time i got in session and someone brought an orange and i had to stop them before they peeled it and made my throat swell
The fact that the DM thought this was more important that Dragonborn puberty got a genuine laugh out of me!
finally someone pointed it out
The Italian mob section was ABSOLUTE GOLD!
Starburst. Individually wrapped, so they stay clean, and the different flavors make it possible to differentiate monsters.
Ah yes, Opal Fruits.
Not happening.
My friend always rolls high for deception, and I always roll low on perception leading to him putting the carefully unwrapped, now empty, rewrapped candy wrapper back into the communal bowl and me having to reach in for a second time.
Red = strong and really tough
Orange = above average and special traits of some sort
Yellow = regular grunt
Pink = magic caster of some kind
@@preston726 We usually use FavoReds, but I really like that idea!
@@Peaceful3arth next DND session burn that monster at the stake
the godfather imitation had me laughing so much, really well made
I DM for my nieces and nephews at their grandparents house. So usually it's pizza from a local favorite or their grandmother cooks them something special because of a high reputation points.
DAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAMNNNN
Best uncle/aunt
That’s wholesome
I make hone made candy and appetizers n what not but I'm also a trained chef
I also have jalapeño cheetos
I usually bring popeyes.
What about fruits and veggies?
-too healthy
But I'm the druid
The slap before breaking into the Godfather act had me 100% replaying 🐸
Me, a sushi chef bringing free sushi I made at work to my D&D session:
If you make a mess with chopsticks there's something wrong with you.
Can I play d&d with you
The best person to bring snacks to the table ever.
Chopsticks? I’m not a barbarian. I will not use two little sticks to eat my food. My ancestors did that in the Stone Age. We moved past it.
@@timesthree5757 wow there's a lot to unpack there and I think I'm not sufficiently certified to handle those therapy needs, I can have you admitted though if you would like.
I never had sushi before, I want to.
Well, I had sushi once as a child but I didn't like it. I want to try again
One time, in a zombie campaign my friend made strawberry filled rice krispie treat "brains" for us to eat. I think that's the winner right there. Besides, everyone knows the real snack danger zone is the drinks...
Chaotic Evil: Gets gummy bears...it is the sugar free gummy bears. Everyone suffers. No one wins.
Nae what would be worse is if you are one of the people who has no problem with it and you use the opportunity to read the dm notes
Only one bathroom too. Let the chaos unfold!!!!
Ah, I love public restroom D&D
I think that's Lawful evil. Chaotic Evil would probably bring extra cheesy pizza with BBQ sauce and a chocolate oreo milkshake
Back in Ye Olden Days of 2.5, we couldn't afford minis so we used different candies and gummies for enemies and the rule was whoever got the death blow got to eat it XD I have never seen people fight over death blows before or since
mustve sucked to be a healer
@@musechan7069 you presume my players were smart enough to bring a healer with them XD iirc they were two tanks and 3 ranged dps
@@musechan7069 Healer tax, you must cut the enemy you down in half if you expect healing or buffs for that session.
Players might also buy life insurance so that a Cleric is obligated to save the money and the spell slot for revive, but you forfeit combat candy for a whole month IRL or you have to give the cleric a tenner.
Next session I'm making the party fight snack monsters. Meaning monsters that are giant versions of snacks. Gummy bears, jolly ranchers, Doritos, an ooze made of cola and a gargantuan sized piece of pizza. Would have had the party face them last night but they spent so much time RPing that we didn't get to any combat.
Make sure everyone has the munchies right before combat starts
If your able to get the giant gummy snake and make it like a friendly npc or something
As I recall 3,5e has a stat block for a calzone golem...
@@Reddotzebra I haven't come across that. However I'm running a 3.5e game and the monsters I'm using came straight out of Dragon Magazine.
I would definitely put googly eyes & pipe cleaner paws on a soda can to turn it into a monster. I'm totally stealing the snack monster idea & rewarding the players w/ the snacks themselves. Kill a Swedish Sea Monster? Get the Swedish Fish on the table.
My go-to is Twizzlers licorice. Most people seem to like it, not expensive, doesn't make a mess, easy to hold, easy to find in most gas stations/convenience stores. Just make sure to put any leftover in a ziplock bag so they don't dry out.
Plus they’re quiet to chew. Chips are one of the worst snacks because they’re loud, get cheese dust all over fingers and crumbs all over the table and papers.
I actually really like the gummy bear idea
Yes
Only problem with it is if you need vegetarian/vegan gummies. Those can be a pain to get.
Also the gummies can melt and get sticky if you touch them too much.
@@Merilirem eh can always swap 'em out for a less sticky candy than like starbursts or toosties rolls, or whatever other piece of candy people like. Gummy bears just add a face to the monster lol
I really wanna use that gummy bear idea now it sounds hilarious
Eating dinner/lunch before starting the session is the best "snack"
Rofl!! When I could afford to bring snacks to my games I always brought a large cheese and cracker platter. I figured it was moderately healthy, relatively mess free (cracker crumbs won't kill your character) and best of all, it was bread, meat and cheese, so it reminded me of mini DND rations 😂
Otherwise I'd bring chips. I always brought a few types of soda though lol. Cream soda became a favorite of mine after a while though. I don't drink alcohol a lot, so the bubbly golden soda made me think of mead (aesthetically, in the right glass that is)
I’m the snack bringer of our group and I bring a fruit tray, veggie tray, 2 bite brownies, giant bag of M&M’s and all dressed chips. I am apparently doing DnD snacks wrong lol
That honestly sounds great
The fact that the dm is now the one saving dragonborn puberty is perfect
Did you have you wife hit you for that last shot? Lol
Also love the subtitles. 😂
It doesn't matter what the snack is, what matters is your players continue bringing offerings to the DM for hopes that theirs might gain favor over the other, and might even see the DM's mercy one fateful day.
Pizza.
I know he is always teasing about telling about us dragonborn puberty but I really wish he one day explains it
But if he did that, the joke would have to end, and no one wants that.
I almost quit D&D you brought me back thank you
Was it specifically DND you almost quit or TTRPGs entirely?
D&D
@@YourAverageHumans what pushed you to think of quitting the game?
@@dposcuro Probably the OGL scandal?
Now this is one I'm curious about. Whatever u decide is what I'll bring to my next TTRPG session
I made chocolate chip muffins for my last gaming session. Sure you get some crumbs, but it will be OK. They turned out great! Everyone loved them!
I make fresh candies and appetizers, sometimes a simple dinner or whatever, especially if you're having a tavern scene actual food being eaten makes for a way more enriching experience
That sounds really good! Some would have to be dairy free for our party
Little salt bretzels/sticks. They do not crumble, they are not greasy/messy, and they do not make you feel sick if you eat a lot of them.
One of the people at the Arcana would sometimes go around and collect money and orders for chinese takeout or dollar tacos from Taco Bell. Or there was one guy in one of my d&d groups that always bought a pizza. If all else came to fail, there was a little snack bar at the Arcana where you could purchase drinks and snacks. Going hungry was not an option in d&d 😂
The Mafia dialogue, and subtitles, was beautiful.
In reference to the chips being messy, that's why I always use chopsticks when gaming. DnD or video games.
After seeing the sushi bit, skill issue.
:) I’m not sure if we’re allowed to bring snacks to my current campaign as it’s in a library. Otherwise I would totally consider bringing something: probably some sort of cookie since they’re delicious when freshly made and several types you can eat and not make a mess. Fresh snickerdoodles would be the BEST campaign snack! Also, I don’t think they’re that hard to make… I never have enough time on the days we play though, so I guess it will remain a random comment
Did you find the time? Even cold snickerdoodles would be awesome.
@@recap1843 we’re on break currently until June, so there hasn’t been a session in a while
@@hyzmarie RIP sorry bro
Honestly stuff like chicken nuggets and french fries are perfect since they are easy to eat with one hand, and cheap, and delicious!
I played in-person before Covid, now we're online. When we were in-person, the guy who owned the house we played at would have either a bowl of trail mix or veggies for us on the table, sometimes both (carrots and ranch are so damn good). Then, we would break for pizza for lunch after a few hours. Worked out really well, and I miss those days...
nice video, a lot of the answers weren't the generic ones i would have expected, so it was entertaining the entire way through.
My personal favorites are jerky and licorice, which also are the two best road trip snacks.
i love how he turns into a mobster torture sequence after being suggested to bring a vegetable platter.
hilarious. too healthy... lol
My go to seems to be a bottle of water ...
When I once GM'd for a new group in person, they had a bunch of snacks and things prepared, it was a really cool experience! Of course I graciously accepted a selection of snacks, set it aside to run the session, and never got to eating any of it. It was a good game.
Le gasp, he delayed dragonborn puberty! This is serious! xD
Honestly my favorite mid session feasts were always when we got a large delivery of boneless wings from a local wing place.
Coming in expecting actual advice on snacks to bring I'm happy with what I witnessed
Me: Why don't you guys just bring the things the snack guy always buys? I mean, it's clear that you like it, and it's clear that it never causes any problems.
DM Duke: ......
Other Duke: .....
Me: What...?
*Broken Window Sounds*
About the veggies being “too healthy”……have you had potluck cold veggie pizza? Cook pillsbury pizza dough on a pan, let it cool off, put cream cheese as your “sauce” & put on shedded carrot & cut up broccoli florets for your veggies🤷♀️ THATS ALL
Never any leftovers & you’ll always have 2 ppl asking how to make it
Notes from a NG Noble Idiot;
Greetings from Lovely Restenford!
It Depends on the type of group your running really. For those of a more Mental perspective (high roleplay), it would be bottled Soda and/or Small handheld snack's. This is so they only have to only one hand for them. As for the More Violent sort(high Combat), Pizza or other types of "messy foods" and high caffeinated Drinks(energy drinks and suchlike) tends to be the order of the day. I, myself, am more of a Tea and Sandwiches type of person. Good luck upon your adventures and may Pelors light bless you!
Sincerely yours,
Set Nathaniel Trevelyan of Restenford
Salty Snack: Mini pretzels?? No mess, safe for most pets, easy to eat
Sweet Snack: Gummy worms (unlike the video, you're not using them as minis- that way everybody else's grubby hands stay off of them.)
The Filling Shit: Sub Sandwiches (can be customized for personal preferences, easy cleanup with a paper towel or napkin between bites if you're one of those guys who overloads it with sauce/mayo/oil, can be hot or cold, often come in wrapping so they don't get everywhere).
At my High School’s DND club, I’m pretty sure I’m the only one there who brings snacks, specifically for myself.
My snack of choice? Whatever I can get .
As the snack bringer, honestly you need to just look out for allergies and diet restricrions, try to have something everyone can have. If it's the type that can and will get messy, have napkins.
I propose "meatbread". Their are many inferior recipes on the internet but I use the following. Roll out one grocery store, rectangular, raw, pizza crust. Brown a pound of hamburger and then cook in some diced onions adding salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle one layer of shredded, sharp cheddar cheese on the pizza crust. Spread the meat and onions on top of the cheese. Add a layer of American cheese or thinly sliced Velveeta. Roll it up like a Sushi roll, but tuck in the ends so it is closed. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Creative variations on meat and cheese selection may also work.
My argument why double stuf is not my favorite
Double stuf isn’t even double, it’s just a bit more
Double stuf = more space taken up in the box which means less cookies
More stuf overpowers the flavor of the actual cookie itself making it feel like stuf between two crunchy bits with no flavor
Thanks for listening
How about pretzels?
Salt, crunchy yet they don't make a mess.
Vegetables with hummus if that's too healthy just add more hummus.
Gummi candy is still the best though.
I'm surprised by how people are slowly turning 5e into 3.5e again.
(If you guys have not tried 3.5e, you should.)
After all these times pushing it back, if we don't get a video that's supposedly about dragonborn puberty on Apirl 1st, I'll be disappointed
Wonderful!
about the veggies though! my players love cucumbers! like, i chop up three of em into slices and everyone goes to town.
Everyone knows nib it chips are the best option, we have it every time. Along with 2 kg of other snacks.
With alcohol of course
the top ttrp snacks are
cheese dip, salsa, and tortilla chips (and plain ruffles are NOT cheese dip chips @ my wife)
I'd actually like Veggie & Dip trays for each person...
I vouch for the classic red Swedish Fish! They're delicious, non-messy, and great for when you need to distract your players!
gummy bears, gummy worms, just use all the gummy animals, and you can even use em for a druids wild shape.
I came to this video for legitimate snack advice.
And the guy goes with sushi ?
I'm glad to see that you've got the correct brand of gummy bears for the prop. So much better than other brands. My own game group introduced me to them, lol
The gummy bears was a really good idea, just use all gummy candy for dnd night lol
I thought the gummy bears were going to be sugar free for those who don't know they are also laxatives
Now I wanna see DM's reaction to that "single or double stuffed?" question as the player silently slides out an overstuffed package.
I make brownies for all my D&D sessions.
Great skit as always. You misspelled the title though.
The vid on dragon born puberty should be when he gets a million subscribers
just bring a loaf of bread. in my experience everyone loves it
Sushi actually seems like a great DnD food! Minus the cost of course…
I don't know if you've done this, but I'd love to see the Steamed Hams meme as a D&D session. You know, the party must prepare a feast for a noble for some reason, but the roast burns and they need to find a way to complete their mission... whatever it was... leading to the place burning down.
I mean it writes itself.
One Day we'll get Dragonborn Puberty, One Day...
I happen to like zebra cakes and single stuff oreos
WHEN WILL WE FINALLY GET DRAGONBORNE PUBERTY?!
01:57 i love taco bell and it does not make me shit only after 6 hours at minium
OK how about store-bought pizza so no one has to Pitchin the money for it because you already have it and a candy bowl?
Albanese gummy bears? Ah, a man of culture
I like charcouterie boards for a game session.
Chocolate that looks like rocks: 10/10
The best part of the final punchline (sushi) is that there is a sushi restaurant right next to our game store and some of my friends buy and bring food from there. 😂
I get mine from the gas station.
For boss battles my group gets pizza. But sometimes we all pitch in for Crumbl cookies.
It's pretzels, theys taste good and aren't greesy
It's been forever since I ran an in-person ttrpg but back in the day I would bring soda and homemade ooey gooeys on the first session or when a new player joins, but I make it clear that if no one else also brings snacks on occasion I'm not doing it as a regular thing. 4 out of 5 times I've never brought snacks more than twice.
NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DRAGONBORNE PUBERTY
Zaanse huisjes. Fight me
Where can I get that bard shirt?
I love the unexpectedly good acting these skits have.
wizard I CAST CHEESEBALL dm: what that's not a spell wizard: well yes but you see I was eating Cheetos so ya i cast cheeseball
What about fried rice
just get pizza
That Veggie slap lmao
Temaki sushi(shapes like ice cream cones) was supposedly invented so people could eat it while gambling and not make a mess. Rice: cheap. Vinegar: cheap. Seaweed: reasonable. Pickled veggies: low-risk and healthy without tasting healthy.
Low-key, this might actually be a reasonable answer as long as you've got open-minded friends.
