I never have been a competitive player. There’s to much angst in that and it gets in the way of whatever I want to convey in music. I really enjoyed this post . There are no wrong notes they are directionally essential to go into new feel in the music. I too love my guitar(s) I’m 70 now and enjoy playing in a local church which is a new and unique experience for me. I do try to adapt different idioms to the music. Thanks Mr Church guy , I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts again.

Yo taking that to heart; through out my years of playing I have always worried about the scales I play and what I need to do in improving, but I always get hesitant; because I worry about screwing up. But after hearing that I think I too should give it a go.
