@@BehindTheBusiness Request: The 100 year history of Warner Bros?
There is very important part of the video missing. Brothers were born in Poland and to start the studio they have sold a watch and a horse that belonged to their father 🙂. I thought anyone interested would be happy to know this.
Thanks for the info
Thank you for this 💚
Wow
And that watch and horse paid off well.
Pennsylvania with mentioned, but having been born and raised in New Castle a large part of the early business and career started there. We are very proud of that connection
Well Warner bros is my favorite company because of word bros

There are some shortcuts that require clarification. After making back the money they also got from the proceeds from selling Dad's watch and horse, and starting a chain of theatres, they finally started making movies to show in them around 1917, calling it Vitagraph. The formal beginning of Warner Brothers Pictures did not occur until 1923 (they're celebrating their 100th in 2023). Warners acquired First National around 1927; the studio released films under both names until 1935. Note the "A Warner Bros.-First National Picture" on films from then into the 50's. Vitaphone became the short-subjects division of WB in 1930, headed by Leon Schlesinger. He subcontracted Hugh Harman and Rudy Ising to make the initial Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies from 1930-33, then Harman and Ising left for MGM. Schlesinger produced himself until 1944, when he sold out to the studio. The studios that owned theatres, Warner among them, were forced to divest them under the "Paramount Decree" of 1948. MGM/Loews, Paramount, Warners, United Artists and RKO all had to do it. Warner and television saw the need for each other in the mid-50's and sold shows initially to ABC (which Paramount had bought into), and later the other two major networks. Age and the studio's board forced Jack Warner into retirement shortly after "My Fair Lady" won the Best Picture Oscar in 1965. The Seven Arts deal nearly forced the studio to close in 1968. It was Ross who turned things around under Kinney, a diversified company, and, using the movie, TV and music production companies as one, created Warner Communications in 1971, with the music division making tons of money after its acquisitions of Atlantic and Elektra/Asylum/Nonesuch Records that year, helping the studio survive. Dirty Harry helped as well. After the various deals with AOL, AT&T and more, the company is now Warner Bros. Discovery, making content for all the various outlets it owns, along with the shows they continue to sell to broadcast networks.
Warner bros. formed a large part of my childhood through Cartoon Network and DC
And they formed Nickelodeon and MTV.
@NeonFroot Never knew that🤔
Plus while Warner is the parent company of both DC and Cartoon Network, they didn't create them. DC was independent before Kinney Nationals bought them and later Warner Bros after Seven Arts sold the studio. Meanwhile Turner launched Cartoon Network but Warner eventually bought them. DC was originally known as National Comics Publications then National Periodical Publications Inc then renamed DC in 1977.
Big WB Fan!
Thank you for watching!
Hey, Behind The Business. How about you do a video on the story of Walmart? I want to know the story about how did they became the largest retail store in the U.S.A.
Hey! Thanks for the suggestion we’ll put it in! Do let us know what else you would like to see!
@@BehindTheBusiness I got another request. How big was Berkshire Hathaway?
Definitely! We’ll put it in the schedule do let us know what else you would like to see!
WB gave us film noirs, Audrey Hepburn's My Fair Lady, Rin-Tin-Tin, classics starring Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, etc., the Batman franchise and Harry Potter. For that, I'm very grateful.
I never realized just how much Warner Bros helped shape the entertainment industry over the course of nearly a century.
Great history lesson . Thank you!
Warner Brothers should focus on tv and video games since they've been doing better at them than Disney.
So Basically Warner Bros Created Revolution and Movie Industry and Hollywood❤
The video was full of knowledge. Thanks
As a fan of Looney Tunes & Animaniacs, I absolutely love this backstory.
I know that the video states that there are no Warner family members involved with the studio but does the family still exist i.e. have living members and if so do they get some sort of monetary compensation despite not being directly involved like stock options or something?
I've always been a Warner Bros fan since like forever.
Today, Warner Bros. Discovery is the parent company of Warner Bros. since 7 months ago.
Dziękujemy.
Happy 100 Warner Bros.!
Flash, Superman, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Pinky and The Brain, Green Lantern, Looney Tunes
Yes, I'm the fan of WB.

0:35 wow that root✨️
Great video. The lesson is if you create a movie studio name it after yourself, it helped Warner Bros. And Walt Disney.
My favorite studio
This is inspiring
Cool
i like all these things, as long they are not sick woke and leave the stories im peace.

Ok!
In my country, we have Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast, which has been operating since 1991. It has great high adrenaline rides and the opportunity to have photographs with your favourite DC and Looney Tunes Characters.
Music here it’s not good. Riff on saving Private Ryan. Doesn’t help to make the video better.
Ya know what's really crazy, warner brothers fought to make bugs bunny a struggling rapist. Something that really happened 3 years ago. Weird how they would want to make that canon.
Why you didn’t say that the come from Poland?
I am fans of Warner bros.
Best film company ever
cool
Thank you!
Good vid. At and t no longer owns wb or warner media though…
WB since 1923
Who made this video? There's a gaping hole in the montage of their stars. Not even one image or mention of Errol Flynn? What a shame
Didn't mention casablanca
They make great movies.
Me I'm gonna work warner bros animated movie
BOB DALEY...........Enough sad.
Warner Bros came from nowadays Poland 😊 Well, before Poland was again on the maps since 1918 ... Still, Warner brothers knew Hebrew and Polish culture and language like Fred Zinnemann - we can see symbols of that in the film productions 😊
Wb makes goo goo dolls cd
Austin Powers was new line cimea
Why no mention of Adult swim?

Warner Brothers Records and Tapes, prince , why you wanna treat me so bad, accountability tax code
That isn't old logo warner bros logo recall #수업 #느린
I like Warner Bros. But they need to go back to the old (gold) logo.
Every story gets the divorce of the studios and theatres wrong, including this. The theatres owned the studios, not the other way around. That's how the system began. The theatres were ordered to get rid of the studios.
Eyes Wide Shut alls im sayin
To think that such a mega corporation started with a well-behaved dog
Looney tunes and Tom and Jerry and Ace Ventura and the mask and dumb and dumber and Austin powers
I have a hard time believing that all that was created without African Americans who ,like I thought, would not be in this viewing.notnpulling the race card but........
