I am glad to see someone bring canister filters to the attention of reef hobbyist. I had used one 15 years ago on a 75 gallon tank and had very good results. Currently I am using a hang on the back filter for a 30 gallon tank and I have both SPS and LPS doing just fine. No skimmer. Just regular water changes.
This is a new set up that has gone through the ugly brown stage, followed by the green algae stage, and I am now getting into the purple.
This hobby does not need to break the bank to have a working aquarium.
In the salt water hobby bout 3 years now love the bahama lama channel and Lauren's channel is exactly how I run my 5 foot tank 2 canisters.

Been keeping fish 41 years last 10 marine. Started ages 6 was me and my dad fav thing going round fish shop when I was young. He past away 15 years ago so 5 years after he past I got a marine tank with 2 clowns in his memory. It just snowballed from three sold all my fresh water stock and went full marine. I no work in a marine shop and have a mixed reef set up. Looking at the fish always make me feel closer to my father miss him loads but the hobby keeps him near. Love the vids buddy keep up the amazing work from me in the uk 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Good videos, been subscribed from South Australia for a little while now. Started off just like you with a cheap second hand freshwater conversion with a canister filter but have just bought a Waterbox 130.4 as an upgrade

I just started maintaining an existing tank at a local restaurant in STL 6 months ago. When I got an RO/DI system for water changes it was game over! Now I have a 6 week old 90 gallon at home.

Seven years. When I started I was broke and bought a lot of cheap stuff. We’ve started upgrading equipment recently and the tank is looking so much better. I feel so much better about it I bought my first round of corals after finding your channel.
I have a can on my 40g frag tank. I like the fact that even though its not set up like everyone else she is doing it her way and tank is scratched up still got the tank running. Shows it only matter what you think of your tank and not what everyone else thinks love it
Started back in 78 was active till 85 and started to move. Started up again as a Covid sanity program in March 20 and now have four tanks if you include 100 gallon horse trough with mores live rock and puffers
Hey Remy, long time watcher first time commenter.... no that's not true, we've chatted a couple times on here. Your channel has been one of the few I have consistently watch and look forward to when I got back into the hobby. Many years ago I had a brackish water tank and eventually started up a saltwater system as well that I had running for about 2 years. At the time, I started travelling for work full time and unfortunately was not able to take care of them being home 3 to 5 days a month so I had to tear down my systems. It was a fun life living on the road as they say. I was a platinum member of just about every hotel chain, traveled all across the U.S. and a few trips oversees, but started missing having a home life. I settled back down in Buffalo and started missing my saltwater system. After a few months of checking out different tank setups and lighting options I slowly started purchasing all the equipment I was going to need to start a new tank up and now I am just a few month shy of having one up and running for 2 years. And then about a year ago I started having a real bad zoa addiction and set up a frag tank to house all them I just couldn't walk away from or pass up the deals online. WWC's Ebay auctions are a MAJOR contributor to that addiction and almost need to find a 12 step program to help ease those buy Buy BUY impulses. lol. So... I have gone way off topic. Been in the hobby for only about 4 years with a 12 year gap in between. Still basically a novice

I've been in the reef hobby for nearly one year. Got my first tank (45G) on April 2020. Been quite a ride !! After tons of mistakes I have finally a well stablished tank with strong and growing corals
I have a 40 gallon reef and fish tank. I only use a canister filter and my coral and fish are doing great! I do a 20% water change every 2 weeks with no issues thus far. Remy great video, keep up the great work!

I use two canister filters on my reef tank now. Definitely alot harder to manage than a sump. Upgrade has been ordered. I can't wait 😁😁

Been in reef hobby for 3 years. Absolutely love it. Even like doing water changes. Filter sock cleaning not so fun but oh well.
I had a reef thank about 1 year ago unfortunately the 1st reef tank didn't work out but with your videos I've learned some things to keep my reef tank better maintained and I am getting a new reef tank soon

I've been in the hobby for about 8 years. I've owned fish tank for like 12 years but started a reef tank later. I love reef tanks and it is such a fun thing to do. My fish room currently has 7 reef tanks and I'm hoping to get more.

I have been in the hobby for 3 years, started with no idea what I was doing, didn't do any research and just dove in. 12 months ago I got a new tank and decided to put my head down and do what's best for my Fish and Coral. Pitty it took 2 years to do so because I've never been happier with my tank

started reefing in 2010, was 10 Year s old at the time with my father. Have had reef tanks ever since with my current one being a waterbox 10.
