Years ago, I fished all day in the rain and caught nothing. I was headed across a set of ripples going to the car. I made one last cast with a rapala up to the top of the ripples. Caught my PB. Had a heck of a time getting it in with my tackle box under my arm.
just watched Kristine’s video right before this and it’s so insane watching these two videos back to back also very inspiring to see it in action and to have you encourage us on these bad days
I never give up. I've been frustrated but I keep trying new things and moving to other areas. Some days its tough but some days you own the water. I think thats what makes Bass fishing so addicting.
The last month has been really good for me on the lake, catching most of my fish on a square bill, then in the right situation some on a swim jig and some pitching a creature bait on lay downs.. But today was different, I went to all my spots I’ve been catching them at and I caught 2 small ones, when usually I would have caught 10-15 fish and atleast 1-2 good ones. I was almost ready to load up and head home but I was determined to figure them out. Then it hit me that I wasn’t seeing bait on my graph like I have been.. So I went to the other end of the lake and immediately started seeing more bait balls and bait flickering. So I started with the squarebill in the color I was catching them on and after a few minutes I had one on and it pulled off so I decided the color square bill I was throwing. Ended up catch 9 fish, 3 over 5lbs, 1 was just under 6 lbs. I sure was glad I didn’t load up and head home but decided to try something different.
Very hard to stay "up" when you've fished 4 hours or more, tried all levels of the water column and not get a bite. Not "married" to any one lure, I switch off when something's not working.
