@robroussel2530 Hey man, I had a couple questions. I have a 2018 VMax I bought new and have no mods to date. The only things I did to the bike were LED's, horn, Ventrue F1 dash cam system, hardwire radar detector to my Valentine 1, but nothing to the engine. Did you notice anything different in the bike or dash after the upgrade, other than performance? Did you do anything with pipes? I really like the look of the VMaxs pipes and would never change them. I know you will gain performance with a full exhaust, but the bike has more than enough power as it is. Was there anything else you needed to do when you received the ECU back, or was it simply plug and play? THanks so much!!

Just out of curiosity, why would you need a pc5 if you’ve had it flashed? Any restrictions, fuel and ignition maps should be dialled in with the ecu flash, unless you’ve since changed something?
The ECU flash is still a “canned” general set of parameters based on specific intake and exaust mods along with many factory presets being reset. The PC5 (6 now) is for tweaking an individual bike for the last few % of power.
I had my '09 VMAX flashed by Moore Mafia. I chose the expedited service and it came back faster than it shipped to them. Much appreciated! 1st and foremost, the bike runs MUCH cooler. I rarely see the gauge read over half. The fans rarely come on even though they set them to come on at 195. Before the flash, it only took a minute or two and the gauge was at 3/4. My guess is the factory tune was super lean at idle. I had them tune for the Delkavic 14" cans with the cat delete. The powerband is very smooth from the bottom of the rpm range to the top. My butt dyno is fairly precise, but I don't feel an appreciable difference in power. I believe it has to do with the smoothness of power delivery. There's no longer a surge in power. What is most notable is that before the tune the bike would fall flat at 142 mph. I had it click over 160 mph indicated with no issue before I shut her down. I feel like it would top out 5th gear and bounce off the limiter no problem. The bike idles a tad higher which I don't really care for but he must have a reason for this. My on off throttle transitions are much smoother and it's easier to modulate. I wish he could tune the shaft drive off this bike. ;-) One day, I'll ship my bike down to Tucker, SC and have it dyno tuned. I want every last bit!!!
I just got a 2020 Vmax. I had 2 previous 1st generations. This thing is badass. Definitely getting it flashed with air box mod. I can’t even imagine what’s it’s gonna feel like 👍.
Haven’t decided yet. You can’t go wrong with either one. I’m still researching what exhaust I want. May just do the cat delete. I like the look of the stock exhaust.
@mckzx9 Have you looked into the DAM Exhaust? After a lot of research that's what I went with. It's similar to the stock exhaust but instead of one can on each side with two ports it's two full pipes coming out on each side. Looks like something from maybe a Mad Max or Batman movie
@@JMaxRC yes that’s the one I’m leaning towards. This one looks almost like the original. And I like the sound too. I was just watching a video on it lol

I'm with you on the restrictions but some people watching your video will think the top speed on the dyno is what the bike will actually do. We both know that isn't even close to being true. A bike sitting on a dyno without a rider with mostly perfect traction and with no air pushing against rider and bike isn't the same.
My bike! Man would I love to see you take this thing down the track. Holy shit. And I can't imagine the torque difference. It already power wheelies like an animal with the shitty factory tune. And now it has how much more torque? Lolol. Chris have you ever ridden one? I know your'e not a Yammy guy but still....it's such a fan bike to ride.
I second the motion. Would love to see what Chris could do with a stock Gen 2 at the drag strip. Best I’ve ever seen a stock one do is 9.90s I bet Chris could get 9.70s!
Not sure of the ECU status on those. Even just a couple year old Triumph bikes I was only able to locate one service online that has the software for those.
Hope you enjoy Tim Nash and the flash that you are using. Thanks to him you are able to dyno the gen 2 vmax. Problem is he got more out of it than you did and top speed was 171. Keep trying you are still behind the Nash flash
Is the ecu restricted in the other gears too or only 5th. I have a 2015 vmax and don’t feel the gas being cut off shifting through the gears. Im not one to go over 140mph but 0-120 is fun. So just curious if 1-3 gear is being restricted and would benefit from a ecu flash.
This is exciting! Do they make a better fuel economy map too so you can get to the gas station? I'd have owned one if it had some range. VMAX is awesome.
@@Jason-sz5zv you’d be surprised. I rode from Texas to Missouri last year. Plenty of stretches without gas stations that were very sketchy. Same with going from Texas to Colorado. Three weeks ago I rode from Texas to Georgia then Georgia to Florida then back to Texas. Again lots of long stretches without gas stations depending on which route you take. 90 miles to a tank sucks. I had a vtx 1800 that would roughly get 100 ish miles to a tank. It’s nerve racking going on a lengthy trip with such a short span. Plus gets super expensive with today’s gas prices. The Florida trip I did on my current m109r. $200 one way on gas. Would be even worse on a vmax.
90 miles is extremely annoying on trips here in the UK on motorways, I had xv535 which got about that and I rode 240 miles mostly motorway in one day, most petrol stations were 40 or 50 miles apart so missing one meant the next one was right on the limit and one time I had to ride behind a lorry in his slipstream to make it, so I was filling up every 40 miles or so, often the stations were a fair bit of a detour to get to ... On smaller roads it was not so bad but still always had range anxiety.
90 miles ? My 1st vmax only got 60-70miles with how I rode it lol Range anxiety is very real on the Gen2 Vmax. Because that’s a heavy MF to be pushing on flat so any hill you can forget it.
Great vids. With an unrestricted ECU flash from you and keeping my 2014 VMAX exhaust stock and no fuel or ignition tuning work done, will there still be significant HP & torque gains? What gains would be made. Thanks.
Yeah that fuel economy will keep you rested and you will eat more because of the stops. I keep two gas bottles in my tank bag when I venture out the city limits. It's a perfect commuter bike when I take it to work and back.

Have you guys messed with the Yamaha Roadstar Warrior 1700? Been thinking about an Ivans... what's your thoughts? Not trying to compare you to anyone... for me, it's all about the motorcycle performance.
Got a 2015 and even though I am located next to the German Autobahn never felt like missing power or speed. But nice to know that I keep boring that engine even for the 20 or 30 seconds or so per year that I full throttle it. Knowing what that bike feels stock I assume traction control would be advised with the plus of performance your flashed ECU brings
At 158 rwhp that one is a bit on the low side stock. These bikes generally dyno 168-174 bone stock. 178-185 with exhaust and tune are typical. I own a 14 Vmax with a Guru tune and a 09 Busa with your tune.
I have a Yamaha, a relic. A 2004 FZ1(120HP). Its all original and in pristine condition. It has 42K miles. It still able to bring the speedometer needle to 164 mph....don't know if it would go higher cause I didn't have more space to run. I constantly get good offers...but its not for sale. It will die with me.

Steers heavy in the garage by just moving the bars. I thought the front tire was low , but it had 40 PSI . Bike was just delivered a few days ago and tomorrow will be my 1st chance to take a ride on it.
With a fresh set of tires it’s just as capable as a Busa in the twisties. I’ve done suspension adjustments to soften it up and work for me. Once you get that dialed it’s a dream to throw back and forth. Extremely stable with the 200 rear tire at the back. It has more than enough angle for 95% of owners. I’d say I ride mine like a sport bike and I still have a bit of a chicken strip that won’t go away and I’m leaning off pretty far lol.

Dang, pretty impressive gains! Tell the owner to ride it like they stole it!
That beefy torque 💪🏼
Super nice gains!!
All the world is waiting for the Hayabusa Gen3 ECU crack 😁
I’ve been wondering what would happen if you flashed one of these.
Had no idea my next bike was going to be a vmaxx
Super good bike for street riding you won't be disappointed
Lmao same. Now I'm very interested
What flash are you going with. Moore's or Guru? Want to get mine flashed as well.
180hp!! Wow.
120lbs of torque might be more impressive…riding one of these is now on my bucket list.
Do miss my 2015 vmax. Not sure how gps matches with your dyno but mine would do 170 on gps around the same hp and fpt
Awesome thumbnail so I brought all these thumbs ups 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🚀
That last pull sounding fucking amazing.
had a gen1 vmax. vboost is such a nice thing to have, smiles everytime past 6k rpm
I just checked your site. I see you do Kawais. I'll be in touch. This Great 👍
As a former Vmax owner/lover... the biggest hurdle is the 638lbs. Lose 200lbs and 120hp is a rocket!
I 💩 you not... I seen one of these flat walk away from a gsxr 750 two times in a row! I can't help but to bust my buddies balls about him letting that old man out run him like he's riding a scooter! IF YOU SEE THIS JUSTIN IM TALKING ABOUT YOU😂😂😂😂
They are definitely bad ass bikes!!
It's so sad that Yamaha has stopped producing this model or this type of bike
That is crazy. I love my Roadliner but I'm feeling a desire to buy a Vmax too.
I'm hopeful the Gen 3 busa flash will have similar results when you guys figure it out.....can't wait
Nice....do u fully unlocked all restrictions...? Including the stacks?
More than enough for a cruiser, well done
It's the trademark 5k v boost that they are know for! Once you hit 5000 rpm the bike responds like a bolt of lightning!
What's crazy is it's shaft drive turning a 240. Probably closer to 200 with a chain and regular 17 rear wheel.
My 2017 V Max has an OEM 200 rear tire.
Do a chain conversion and it will easily go over 200HP! That shaft drive steals power big time!
Wow....You must really love your videos. An advertisement every frikin 10 seconds.
A set of milled forged and a lightened Bob weight...twin turbo package..... Get some brothers!!!!
That’s huge! Wow awesome bike!
Now you could pull a motorhome up a mountain with that thing.
The bike sounds good!
I'm with you on the restrictions but some people watching your video will think the top speed on the dyno is what the bike will actually do. We both know that isn't even close to being true. A bike sitting on a dyno without a rider with mostly perfect traction and with no air pushing against rider and bike isn't the same.
True, I have my tuners run all my bikes to top speed. On my Busas and ZX12/14s, it was to prove the 186 MPH restrictions were gone.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA 100% agree. I've seen an 87 out of a stock one before Chris Moore wasn't riding...lol.
Do you guys ECU flash Yamaha warrior xv1700?
I have been waiting for a vmax video need to do a new triumph rocket 3
Not sure of the ECU status on those. Even just a couple year old Triumph bikes I was only able to locate one service online that has the software for those.
Yeah that's what I'm hearing I just bought a 2020 fory cruiser bike and it could be so much more with a little adjustment
Hope you enjoy Tim Nash and the flash that you are using. Thanks to him you are able to dyno the gen 2 vmax. Problem is he got more out of it than you did and top speed was 171. Keep trying you are still behind the Nash flash
For a cruiser !! WoooW really big gain
I said 180ish. Before you showed the chart. Im impressed
This is exciting!
Do they make a better fuel economy map too so you can get to the gas station? I'd have owned one if it had some range. VMAX is awesome.
All this bike needed was an 6th overdrive gear and a low fuel consumption map for when you ain't being a total goon and caveman with the go grip.
It's gets 90 Miles on a tank. How many places in the US are 90 miles from a gas station. Not many
@@Jason-sz5zv you’d be surprised.
90 miles ? My 1st vmax only got 60-70miles with how I rode it lol
Range anxiety is very real on the Gen2 Vmax. Because that’s a heavy MF to be pushing on flat so any hill you can forget it.
I have a 2012 goldwing wonder if it would be worth dialing it in
Great vids. With an unrestricted ECU flash from you and keeping my 2014 VMAX exhaust stock and no fuel or ignition tuning work done, will there still be significant HP & torque gains? What gains would be made. Thanks.
10 hp max
Got me thinking i got the wrong Yamaha gatta vstar i need a v max holy crap!
I'm a bit surprised. The numbers weren't better given how much restriction was on the stock ECU programming.
No longer is it V-Boost, it is V-Cut.
With a flash it’s so much better.
The only problem with the vmax is the 100mile range lol.
I have voodoo exhaust on my 2015 vmax
Yeah that fuel economy will keep you rested and you will eat more because of the stops. I keep two gas bottles in my tank bag when I venture out the city limits. It's a perfect commuter bike when I take it to work and back.
💥 Chris ✅ You Got It Together💥
The insurance companies must have a Hit list out on you... LMAO. Good stuff thanks for posting... As an almost 80 year old retired drag racer I was hoping to see 200 horsepower cuz of what that Vmax weighs, just sayin'... I Can dream LOL
Have you guys messed with the Yamaha Roadstar Warrior 1700?
Been thinking about an Ivans... what's your thoughts? Not trying to compare you to anyone... for me, it's all about the motorcycle performance.
How does your time compare to Guru tune? Do you take in account for higher elevations? Im 5280 feet above sea level.
Nice gains. Give her some mr12 💪💪💪💪💪💪
I have a vmax gen 2 2012 I would like to flash ECU and leave free the beast , where are you located? Thanks
Www.MooreMafia.com
Got a 2015 and even though I am located next to the German Autobahn never felt like missing power or speed.
But nice to know that I keep boring that engine even for the 20 or 30 seconds or so per year that I full throttle it.
Knowing what that bike feels stock I assume traction control would be advised with the plus of performance your flashed ECU brings
I'm scratching my head. The 1200 is rated at 145bhp and the 1700 was rated at 195bhp. Makes wonder what the H2R is really rated at.
At 158 rwhp that one is a bit on the low side stock. These bikes generally dyno 168-174 bone stock. 178-185 with exhaust and tune are typical. I own a 14 Vmax with a Guru tune and a 09 Busa with your tune.
You know my Dyno is a lil on the stingy side. 😆
@@TeamMooreMafia 👍😂
I have a Yamaha, a relic. A 2004 FZ1(120HP). Its all original and in pristine condition. It has 42K miles. It still able to bring the speedometer needle to 164 mph....don't know if it would go higher cause I didn't have more space to run. I constantly get good offers...but its not for sale. It will die with me.
Nice! that thing makes as much tq as my 14R
Been a fan of the Vmax for 20+ years. Ridiculous how restricted these bikes are.
09' and above are absolute horned naturally aspirated Terra ferma ripping Monster!!! 🙏
Wow that’s awesome
sweet my next bike , my 09 r1 didnt cut it
Do you have a comparison of the "Nash Flash" vs. Moore Mafia ECU? 180HP is impressive.
I have a 2009 and no idea if it’s been tuned or not. Was originally purchased by Vance and Hines to develop the CS-1 exhaust system so they did a transformer theme build on it and no idea if the got rid of these restrictions.
Amazing!!! Love your vids and how transparent you are! Also, you’ve mentioned a bunch of times to send the ecu in. Back same day only cost $200 bucks but the price is higher in the website. Am I missing something? I want to send my ecu.
Jewmanji
I have a question if I was to acquire a Ducati Panigale V4 are you able to tune it for more hp tq etc. what would help? Full exhaust or will it be fine with just a muffler upgrade. 👍
Vmax or 2022 busa tough choice
Thnks for explaining about cylinders
I’m sad Yamaha discontinued these. RIP to Yamaha V4
I do own a VMAX and, I go in touch with some tech whom would re-flash the E.C.U. Unfortunately I had to move from California and, I never did … I love mine VMAX and, is the best bike I had in my life …
Heck of a muscle bike - but can it be made to steer well? A lot of people complain that it "Takes off like a Saturn V, and steers like one too."
My question is why is the cooling fan at the back, shouldn't it be at the front cooling down the engine?
That's for the exhaust. He has fans in the front also.
@@terryjones1899 ok got it,tnx

Did the owner do the Airbox mod ? I saw it had a K&N but there is a huge restrictor plate in the airbox that should be removed. It necks down the airbox 2/3 the size it should be. Huge difference when removed ! Even on a stock bike.
They say they ride Harleys in Heaven but don’t tell anybody that God rides a Yamaha-ha!!!!!!
LOL!!!!
