dude i live in reno and watching you ride all these trails within reach of where i live freakin motivates the hell out of me, thank you for all you do and i look forward to wathcing all your ish
I’m lucky enough to live at the base of peavine in northwest Reno, and I love Mountain Biking! The trails are just great here! Peavine Mtn is pretty much my backyard! And I always ride right by those radio towers, so I guess it’s just really cool to this kind of stuff
@@bkxc it's pretty cool you can do this trail and the forest trails in Galena and never really leave the city. Reno may not be perfect but you can't really rival the variety.
If you would like a tour guide for any of the east bay riding (jmp, diablo, Pleasanton ridge, Del valle, briones, las trompas) let me know! I'd be stoked to show you around!
Awesome trails, great flow. I like how you had a rider who knew the trail well up front carving great lines and giving a 3rd-person perspective to watch the bike handling. Those bikes too, that Yeti was pretty top of the line. The XC tires with less rolling resistance can still hold pretty decent grip it seems, nice for those longer rides. Another great video, thanks for posting.
Thanks man! Those tires are pretty darn good. Certainly not as grippy as an enduro-specific tire, but with a little body english and diligence they grip just fine. :)
More quality content Brian. Those trails look sweet. Flowy as. I'd go a bit easier on yourself regarding the braking man! Dude's a racer riding his own local trails! Like you said, always good to rip with peeps better than you! How you gonna learn otherwise? Great Ride!!!
I love the trail. So smooth and quiet. Doesn't always need to be overly technical. And 11 miles of descending is heavenly. Wish I had trails like these in my vicinity. Edit: Should've watched the whole video first =D Still, beautiful trails, even the technical sections. And that Yeti is a beauty!
BKXC is patreon not working for safari every time I try to commit to the three dollars a month it just crashes it tells me to reload the page and I can't do anything
Love your videos. Awesome trails. Would love to get to the States one day and ride some of them. We have some great trails down here in NZ. Just have to put up with all the Earthquakes😀
Holy crap! Nevada is at that high of an elevation?! I'm gonna have a serious adjustment period if I move there from Western New York! D: Anyways. Great video, dude! As usual, it made my dinnertime that much more enjoyable. :D
Nice Brian! You did well considering the altitude and ridding buddy Cat 1 rider. Always learning Skills with the faster rider. As Alex would say is you ain't shredding you ain't ridding. 👊🏽😎✌️️
The greatest thing about your vids is the variety of terrain, put this next to Moab and it looks like a completely different sport. Question: What tyres do you run on your Bronson? Do you swap them out depending on what terrain your hitting or just stick with what works?
Great ride. Your friend Jonathan, I think he trains on a pump track. He starts pulling away when starts pumping his bike. (Not pedaling) I agree with you, he is bad ass. But you are pretty good yourself. Take it easy.
by the way my name is not frank - it s just Escape from Alcatraz with Clint Eastwood is my number one movie after Showshenk redamption - what kind of movie do you watch sir? And what do you do for a living - i am a second hand two weels seller
Thanks man :). Plenty of chunk in the area. We chose to ride a big route that gave us a lot of vertical descent, but it takes you through a different area than the chunky stuff in this network. Next time. :)
Dude for real what a good videos! I notice you use a gimbal.. However what is the set up you use in your gopro? Resolution, fps and lens angle? Thanks!
Brian, I'm a fan and subscriber of you channel and I need some help. My wife and I want to Mountain Bike at Lake Tahoe. We thought a resort like Northstar or something would make it convenient with rental and lots of trail options. We are upper intermediate to single black diamond trail riders. Do you have a suggestion of what might be the best option for us on that area? Thank you.
Hey Kennard, I'm not Brian but being a local I think I can help here. Northstar is the best bet of you are looking for everything in one spot. There are a ton of trails that would fall within your experience range there, and the amenities of the resort are top notch. They rent all Specialized stuff. Otherwise your best bet is to go to South Lake Tahoe and stay somewhere like the Heavenly Village, rent bikes from a local shop and ride the trails around Armstrong Pass. Cheers!
Nice ride dude. I really hope you got the chance to ride Scrub Brush and Bobsled, they are infinitely more fun than Bacon Strip and Crispy Bacon which are shown in the video (imo). Regardless, looks like you had a really fun day on peavine. Did Zink and his boys hook up the Capra?
I've been riding about 5 years, but I really started progressing this year when I started facing my fears and riding with guys who were better than me.
Thanks. I really enjoy your channel, next year I'm probably going to upgrade to a full suspension bike now that i know I'm into it. Watching review hellos narrow it down because i don't have access to a lot of of those brands. I'm hoping to demo some bikes next summer.
Hey Clark! I'm 5'11" and ride a Medium Yeti ASRc. A viewer mentioned he thought my frame was too small, but I intentionally picked the Medium and made adjustments elsewhere to accommodate for the slightly smaller than usual (but not smaller than recommended) frame. I went into detail in that comment below, so check that out of the bike check video for more info 👍🏻
sup brian, aaron here. some suggestions needed if you have the time. want to take a trip, at least two weeks In length give or take. camping from full size truck, mtb main, main priority. going pretty light except for good grub and beer. taking a fairly sturdy hardtail 29er, only thing stock is the cannondale frame. taken to Colorado and it held up fine. would be leaving from southeast texas, thinking of going straight to moabish area, and coming back thru Colorado and work my way back home. hitting several spots in Colorado and around moab with drive time, any suggestions on a worthy roadtrip plan? ride pretty well, but not looking to go pro. would like cooler camp friendly zones with possible burger and beer options at the end of the day. plus might take a smaller kayak so water is cool too. anyway, thanks thanks for the vids, hope you find a moment for some suggestions. have tools and above average bike knowledge. not a tech by any means.
Well that's not too intimidating... show up for the ride w/ a guy all decked out in his Yeti factory gear and rocking that carbon fiber Yeti rocket ship... nice...
Thank´s Brian, putting Reno on the travel list.
Hmm, I wouldn't go that far!
dude i live in reno and watching you ride all these trails within reach of where i live freakin motivates the hell out of me, thank you for all you do and i look forward to wathcing all your ish
Thanks so much dude! I'm glad you get a kick out of my stuff!
I’m lucky enough to live at the base of peavine in northwest Reno, and I love Mountain Biking! The trails are just great here! Peavine Mtn is pretty much my backyard! And I always ride right by those radio towers, so I guess it’s just really cool to this kind of stuff
Old, but gold! I just rode Peavine for the first time today. There are some gnarly rocky descents out here!
Nice!! I've gotta see some more of it
BKXC try "N" trail and snake run if ye be brave enough! ⚔️
Hey! I live there! And rode Peavine that day, too! Next time you're around Reno, you have to do Whites Creek and Upper Thomas Creek
Nice! Thanks for the suggestions.
Hey!! me to I have been for the last 6 years lol I know the lady that has that pick up truck lol
Love these trails, use to ride all the time in college. Check out Galena Creek trails in southern Reno at the base of Mt. Rose!
Galena is 😍
Nice, always looking for more trails to add to the list!
@@bkxc it's pretty cool you can do this trail and the forest trails in Galena and never really leave the city. Reno may not be perfect but you can't really rival the variety.
Wow didn't imagine that area to be so smooth and flowy
Yeah, pretty trippy!
If you would like a tour guide for any of the east bay riding (jmp, diablo, Pleasanton ridge, Del valle, briones, las trompas) let me know! I'd be stoked to show you around!
Thanks man! I'll hopefully be doing more group stuff when I get back home.
Glad you enjoyed it! I was amazed at how well those tires gripped when they didn't look very aggressive.
Thanks brother!
Very nice flow trails
Thanks
I love the trail. So smooth and quiet. Doesn't always need to be overly technical.
And 11 miles of descending is heavenly. Wish I had trails like these in my vicinity.
Edit: Should've watched the whole video first =D
Still, beautiful trails, even the technical sections.
And that Yeti is a beauty!
Yeah pretty fun stuff!
Thanks Marc 🤘
I liked hearing the brake noise of a mere mortal. Seeing pros carving at unreal speeds gets old.
this guy you're riding with has a very sweet looking bike!
So cool I made a video about it for Wednesday
Hehe, thanks man :)
Just got your pain and pleasure shirt man! Glad help out the epic journey
Awesome, dude! Thanks so much
BKXC happy to wear it proud man
Great video! I must admit, I think that's the most you've been outpaced (towards the beginning.) That guy and his bike are a monster!
Hahah definitely!
Hehe, thanks mate :) Brian did awesome that day!
Nice trail in Nevada, hope I can come sometime there to ride with you;)). Keep riding with joy;)). The nice view makes all the money we have;)
Thanks Tudor! It was a great ride
Can't get OVER that Yeti. Must be such a blast.
Haha, yeah man, start saving your pennies!
I used to live in reno, in the condos right next to that trail, it was incredible
Awesome!
Jonathan is freaking fast!!! You hung in there pretty well too! Good job bro.
Yeah, beast mode!
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Will you ever get yourself an XC race machine?
Never say never, but I would rather just have one bike.
Looked like such a smooth trail. Sick!
Pretty fun stuff!
BKXC is patreon not working for safari every time I try to commit to the three dollars a month it just crashes it tells me to reload the page and I can't do anything
Antonio Espindola you could just download another browser...
Interesting, I haven't heard that before. Definitely make sure you've got all your updates and turn off/on your device.
BKXC I will check again or try a different browser like they sugested awesome riding 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Who knew there was some great trails out there! nice video.
Plenty more out here!
Pretty cool! Thanks dude
Very cool! Almost identical to where I call home in SoCal.
Interesting! So many different weird landscapes out there. I love em all
I'm moving to Reno. That looked intense!
Definitely different scenery loved it
Best name on UA-cam? --> Mick Dundee 🇦🇺🔪🐊
Yeah man, some great terrain!
Nice ride guys! XC Yeti rider shredding that trail, man he is railing.
Big time quickness!
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Nice work keeping up without any local knowledge!!..... both up AND down!
Thanks man! Couldn't let him get too far away!
Still watching Brian! And now also is my trail puppy at only eight weeks!
Thanks Mitch! Trail puppy is gonna be fun!
Love your videos. Awesome trails. Would love to get to the States one day and ride some of them. We have some great trails down here in NZ. Just have to put up with all the Earthquakes😀
Thanks so much! Get over here! I'm headed to the South Island in a couple weeks, earthquakes or not!
Can't wait for those videos. Enjoy!
Awesome trail and video!
Thanks man!
Beautiful trail. Great Ride!
Thanks!!
Awesome vid bro! keep it coming! I've watched almost all of your vids and none disappoint :)
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!
My brother rides for Jonathan Lee's XC team here in Reno. Awesome Vid man, keep it up.
Nice!! Very cool that he's involved with high school coaching!
What's up Peter's brother!? :)
Jonathan Lee
Whats up dude!
Nice riding out there!
cool video Brian . keep on riding amigo
Thanks Nelson!
Holy crap! Nevada is at that high of an elevation?! I'm gonna have a serious adjustment period if I move there from Western New York! D:
Anyways. Great video, dude! As usual, it made my dinnertime that much more enjoyable. :D
Just Reno! I don't know about other spots. You'll get used to it in 3 weeks.
Almost all of Nevada is above 3,500'. Southern Nevada is an outlier with the Vegas area being so low.
Nice! Haven't heard of this one. I will have to try it out the next time I visit family near Reno.
It's cool!
that trail looks so smooth or is it that you made it look smooth because of your riding skills:-). be blessed
Very smooth stuff!
Nice Brian! You did well considering the altitude and ridding buddy Cat 1 rider. Always learning Skills with the faster rider. As Alex would say is you ain't shredding you ain't ridding. 👊🏽😎✌️️
Hahaha definitely! Thanks Edd!
Brian killed it! 🤘
Yeah! Sooooo happy 👍🏼
Thanks buddy!
Now that looks fun!
It was a good time!
The greatest thing about your vids is the variety of terrain, put this next to Moab and it looks like a completely different sport.
Question: What tyres do you run on your Bronson? Do you swap them out depending on what terrain your hitting or just stick with what works?
Thanks! It's so true. I love the variety. I just keep the same tires on all the time, link in the description!
it is always best to ride with someone more skilled, you pick up alot. more great riding.
Definitely! I think I got a nice free lesson that day.
Loved the FLO!
It was nice!
another great video
Thanks dude
Awesome ride man
Thanks dude!
Great ride. Your friend Jonathan, I think he trains on a pump track. He starts pulling away when starts pumping his bike. (Not pedaling) I agree with you, he is bad ass. But you are pretty good yourself. Take it easy.
Thanks man!
Yep! Wednesday is pump day, not hump day :)
Is there a strava or map of the exact ride that you did? How many miles was it? Did you just ride to the top of Peavine Mountain and back down?
These trails look a lot like what I have here in Christchurch NZ on the Port Hills.
Interesting! Dusty and wide open!
Loved it.
Thanks Don!
Hey man, great videos! You should come do a video on trails here in Chico, CA!
Thanks dude! I'm definitely getting up to Chico for a Bidwell Bump ride eventually!
i really like the look of the rock shox rs1 fork!
Yeah it's pretty cool. Bike check video for his bike coming Wednesday.
Me too :)
thanks 4 taking me along too from Russia\Samara
Glad to have you Frank!
by the way my name is not frank - it s just Escape from Alcatraz with Clint Eastwood is my number one movie after Showshenk redamption - what kind of movie do you watch sir? And what do you do for a living - i am a second hand two weels seller
That dude had mad skills (on smooth flowy stuff)... being cat1 he can probably ride most anything... don't they have any gnar there? ;-)
He's a beast! No idea if they've got chunk!
Thanks man :). Plenty of chunk in the area. We chose to ride a big route that gave us a lot of vertical descent, but it takes you through a different area than the chunky stuff in this network. Next time. :)
When did you film this video? It seems like summer in my central european eye...
A couple weeks ago!
And it looks like summer... Q couple weeks ago in my country there were red leaves on the trails which were completely wet...
What kind of microphone setup do you use to catch the speech with no wind noise while riding?
Velogi - Pyöräilevä videoblogi he's got it in his gear section. It's just a mic screen on the gorpro itself.
Link in the description!
Thanks! It seems GoPro audio has gone a long way (forward) since I tested them.
Once it's outside of the waterproof case it's amazing!
Dude for real what a good videos! I notice you use a gimbal.. However what is the set up you use in your gopro? Resolution, fps and lens angle?
Thanks!
Link in the description, bud

Jonathan Lee Thank you!
That was pretty awesome
This is some great content. Keep it up!
😁👍
Just a thought, dont you think that the capra is a bit overkilled for that kind of trails?
Maybe a jeffsy would have been better.
Yep yep, said as much in my Capra video.
3/22/22 Hello my name is RudyRod just moved to Reno and Ive been riding PeaVine. I can seem to find the trail on this video. How do I get
Thanks
I'd love to actually experience downhill riding one day. We have hill biking instead of mountain biking in San Antonio.
Yeah man, gotta try it!
I'm headed there now!!!!
Cornering skills! Working on that myself.
Never good enough!
I'll have to do that next time! Anyone can demo a YT!
Really great job on the video...how much suspension travel does your bike have?
Thanks man! That's a Capra CF Pro, I have no idea but Google will tell you!
how long have u been riding? when did u start progressing? i jus m giusto my first mtb this year and i love it. I'm trying to increase my skills.
Awesome!
Like the Capra
You like the Capra? Or do I like the Capra?
Sweet video Brian! If you venture down toward Vegas, check out the Bootleg Canyon trail set in Boulder City. Its some pretty fun riding.
Yeah! I rode it during interbike and did a bit of a video on it. Not my favorite surface!
I tore through a sidewall there. Made for an interesting adventure!
Hahaha, DAMAGE and DANGER!
Almost as fun as pain and pleasure?
Hahaha, no way!
Always have an open invitation to UCSC! I'll quit commenting about it, but know that the offer is always on the table.
Thanks man!
what gopro settings are you using? what camera?
Link in the description
Oh awesome man!
But may I ask, ofter the new gopro update with the shutterspeed settings and so on, what settings do you use on them?
which one you like better? This YT or your bronsoncc?
Bronson
Love the vid but what camera setup do you have
Link in the description!
How tall is Jonathan and what size is his yeti'a frame?
No idea, but he may have said it in his bike check video on my channel or the one he did on his channel.
What is the Yeti gear video called Brian
Coming out Wednesday
It's out Walrus! :)
lol I live right in front of peavine. It’s 2 minute walk up my neighborhood haha, this is so weird seeing this for some reason
Very cool!
What bike were u on?
Nevermind that was the YT Capra
So what do you think about the capra?
Made a whole other video about it, check out my channel!
Rockshox rs1? Is it xc bike?
Yep
Yes sir!
good fun
Thanks
Where can you get POC and Yeti shorts together?
He custom ordered the shorts from Cuore
Hmmmm there's no option for that on their website though. Anyway thanks for replying!
Those shorts are custom one-off shorts for me, but you can design your own or have CUORE design your stuff. 👍🏻
Keep making videos
Sure thing!
Next time just go straight down. No corners -- no problems with braking in corners.
Haha, sure thing!
Gnarly XC rider!
Hell yeah!
Thanks Will 👍🏻
sup brian, aaron here. some suggestions needed if you have the time. want to take a trip, at least two weeks In length give or take. camping from full size truck, mtb main, main priority. going pretty light except for good grub and beer. taking a fairly sturdy hardtail 29er, only thing stock is the cannondale frame. taken to Colorado and it held up fine. would be leaving from southeast texas, thinking of going straight to moabish area, and coming back thru Colorado and work my way back home. hitting several spots in Colorado and around moab with drive time, any suggestions on a worthy roadtrip plan? ride pretty well, but not looking to go pro. would like cooler camp friendly zones with possible burger and beer options at the end of the day. plus might take a smaller kayak so water is cool too. anyway, thanks thanks for the vids, hope you find a moment for some suggestions. have tools and above average bike knowledge. not a tech by any means.
Ant chance you'll get an opportunity to ride an evil insurgent or wreckoning? I'd love to see what you think of those
Yeah I'd like to, just a matter of running into one!
Flowy...... :)
When are you coming to aliso?
Eventually! No plans yet
What is that squeaking sound - Your Brakes??
Yup
Well that's not too intimidating... show up for the ride w/ a guy all decked out in his Yeti factory gear and rocking that carbon fiber Yeti rocket ship... nice...
Hahaha
7:08 better call Kenny Loggins!
Yeah buddy! Hahaha
I live there!
Nice!
Is it weird I know exactly were they were
are those yt capara?
Yep, it's a YT Capra. I did a video about it last week.
When did you ride? I’ve lived in Reno my whole life and the weather has never been that good.
tku for the video
My pleasure
👍 📹👍📹👍📹
🤘🎅🤘
The camera just doesn't catch hoe interesting it is to ride high desert trails like that
So much buff trail.... Hmmmmmmm.
A little too tame?
BKXC No, not at all. It's great to have a mix of trail on your channel. Peavine may not be too technical, but it looks like a lot of fun!
BKXC Think of that 'Hmmmmmmmmmm' as a Homer Simpson + bacon kind of sound...
Hahaha, "Mmmmmmmm"
Yeti Bikes are very expensive stuff.
Everything on this channel is very expensive stuff!
