Greetings, citizens!
Every time I say the phrase “this was the most difficult video of mine” - and each time I make an even more complex video. So, this time - it was really the MOST difficult of my video, because I was also started to write the music for this video.
I decided, that shoot and edit was not enough for me anymore - and I also went to the musical direction. Specially for this, I bought a MIDI-keyboard, and one very good man gave me his sound card for free. And after a month of working on music, I want to say that I, no doubt, hurried to create my own music in my video, because I had no experience when I started working on it. However, this “baptism by fire” gave me the necessary starting experience - and now I know more about how to write the music. I hope you enjoy my first (and, I hope, not last) experience in this direction.
As for the video itself, it may seem long and strange to you - 10 minutes long, with a strange beginning and art-house style. But that was my original idea - to show the city, through the storyline of the heroine, by using FOIP and visual effects.
Working on this video took me 2 months of life and almost 250 gigabytes on my PC, so it really became my most difficult job. I hope my work was not in vain, and you will enjoy this video.

Каждый раз я говорю фразу “это было самым сложным моим видео” - и каждый раз я делаю ещё более сложное видео. Так и в этот раз - это было действительно САМЫМ сложным моим видео, потому что, помимо, собственно, видео я занимался ещё и музыкой.
Я решил, что мало мне съемок и монтажа - надо двигаться ещё и в музыкальном направлении. Специально для этого я купил MIDI-клавиатуру, а один очень хороший человек безвозмездно отдал мне свою звуковую карту. И спустя месяц работы над одной лишь музыкой я хочу сказать, что я, несомненно, поторопился с включением музыки в своё видео, ведь у меня не было никакого опыта во время начала работы над музыкой. Однако это “крещение огнём” дало мне необходимый стартовый опыт - и теперь я больше знаю о том, как надо писать музыку. Надеюсь, вам понравится мой первый (и, надеюсь, не последний) опыт в этом направлении.
Что касается самого видео, то оно может показаться вам затянутым и странным - получилось видео на 10 минут, со странным началом и нотками артхауса. Но такова была моя изначальная задумка - показать город, через сюжетную линию героини, с использованием FOIP и визуальных эффектов.
Надеюсь, мои труды были не напрасны, и вам понравится это видео. В плеере Ютуба будут доступны субтитры на русском языке.

Это очень сложная и кропотливая работа: продумать и написать сценарий, выбрать нужные локации, выставить камеру, заранее приготовить присеты. Но когда ты наснимал огромное количество отдельных кусков видео (по сценарию), а потом берешься за монтаж - понимаешь, все что было сделано - это только полпути. Такой сидишь и смотришь на весь этот отснятый материал и думаешь: "И что мне с тобой делать?".
Отличная работа и отличный дебют в написании OST.
P.S. Вот и появился именно тот видео ряд, который я ждал для 3 части :)))

Stellar once again. No other creator pays as much attention to letting SC show itself off. Wasn't until this video that I realised how surreal what we have so far is.

Честно, странный видос. С технической точки вообще не могу прикопаться, все очень круто. Музыка тоже очень в тему, прям погружение.

That was outstanding! Blade Runner, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, it was all there. This was the best video to date and I have to say my new favorite star citizen video, official or fan made.

Отличная работа! Музыка реально на высоте, я даже удивлен на сколько хорошо вышло за такой короткий промежуток времени, вот что значит, когда есть чувство качества, иначе не могу выразиться :)

П.с. Сам все хочу сесть и сделать нечто похожее в Стар Ситизен, но опыта в этом нет. Зато есть небольшой опыт в писании истории, пока есть набросок сценария, все хочу реализовать это и показать свою историю в игре. Если бы только мог поработать с человеком знающим в подобном как ты, думаю меня бы такой дуэт вдохновил и мотивировал. Надо попробовать записать видео и попробовать склеить " историю" хотя бы для себя. Во общем спасибо за видео, и я все ещё жду Space in movies 2🖖🚀

I think you do the best SC edits of all. I would like to leave some constructive criticism, that I thought about while watching the video.
There is a lot to like about the video, but I think pointing them all out is not as useful as criticising parts I didn't like.
I liked the original Idea "with a strange beginning and art-house style" and I really liked it, but I think the rest of the video does not fit to the first section as well as it could have. It is to long, especially in comparison to the first section and the importance in the Video. The storyline that you showed is way faster progressing in the beginning and at the last seconds of the video.
The middle section (1:40 - 8:43) is way to long and is a bit mixed up. I got how you wanted "to show the city, through the storyline", but the storyline doesn't really fit the places you show.
At the beginning of the middle section you show big buildings like she were thinking about them, but after some time you just show more and more without any connection to the story and her. You show the visitable parts of Area 18 (e.g. 3:25) while she is just leaving the apartment. At around 4:00 you change the music without changing the thinks you show. Then you show some darker places of Area 18 (4:30), but only very shortly and with the same music as the bright areas in the center (5:06). Then without any connection, the ArcCorp tower with the weapons. And after that, with a quite weird cut at 6:02 dark side again with new music.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say with "mixed up".
The sections with the ArcCorp tower and like the light side of Area 18 should have been together with similar music and could have ended using the storyline and her reality of living and working. The storyline in general should have been build around showing places of Area 18 e.g. Dumper's Depot (7:55) instead of just showing them without context. In most of the middle sections eiger you show areas that have no connection to that she is doing or she is just doing random stuff in the city, like sitting in the bar (7:46) and standing or walking somewhere without a goal (8:08 , 5:18).
There are some small things , that I am just going to list:
- The sight "welcome to Area 18" could have been at a meaningful place, not just somewhere in the cinematic between big skylines
- the mood of the music at 4:32 does not fit the mood of the scene at all
- the asian bits in the music (e.g. 4:53) could have been more on point with footage of asian influences in area 18, not the main plaza (5:57)
- I don't get the point of the scene with the two soldiers at 5:31
- (9:21) I think one shot with on point music would have been better
- I don't get the message of her smiling with the nightmare scene in the beginning (9:29)
- I think she could have been traveling with the transport system at some point (you showed it quite frequently)
As said earlier I think you do the best SC edits of all and the positive parts clearly outweigh the parts I didn't like (especially the beginning). The pictures you show and the way you use FOIP are amazing and I like how you try more creative parts and try to make your own music. I hoped my comment might help

Ok... this was..... next level stuff mate, it's easy to loose interest when a video goes for 10 min, but, i guess this video doesn't suffer from that, and that smile in the end, i feel it was as gratifying for me as it was for the character. Really well done sir, and great work with the music, i was about to check the music list, just to them learn that it was your production, so congrats on that, i can see some inspiration on some well known music like the ones in Blade Runner 2049, have to say this, your track has a fucking incredible atmosphere, and it is awesome for this kind of Sci-fi background. Please keep doing that. Great video man.

Oh - my - God! I just used my lunch break to watch this short film. It's so damn brilliant, I'm lack of words. Although it might actually be three to four minutes shorter as a shortmovie - as a demonstration of the technical state of Star Citizen and of course ArcCorp (once again) it is an eye-opener. And then the music too?! I was really worried when you wrote on Discord/Patreon that you wanted to compose too. Well, I take everything back and say the opposite: a masterful composition of picture and music - Chapeau!

Expect concept sales coming out of cloud Imperium ears to raise funds to cross the finish line. Also mate not interested in VR at all, had the rift day 1 and sold after 3 months, 100% more immersive but such a visual downgrade just doesn't cut it. If VR still exists in 5 years time I might dip toe back in.

Was trying this myself, tried filming some and putting it to music I had made already...didn't really fit. Starting filming again and making new music based of of scenes...gave up when I realized how much time and dedication it would take.....so I'll just enjoy your video and music :) Nice job by the way!!!!

Hi. Really enjoy your videos. Well done! I create similar videos, but I don’t upload them as I’m still not happy with the results. I dislike the jerky frames which causes the shots to judder and are so distracting. I think it’s desynchronisation. I also realised that there is no 2 man car like vehicle in SC yet, like the one from BR. Pity.
That really is quite stunning.
I have absolutely no idea how you got those shots though, since I don't know of any ingame tools remotely capable of that, which suggests you might've used some very unusual methods for this...
Still, the result speaks for itself...
I think you should totally do a re-creation of the 'Imagine: Star Citizen' trailer/cinematic with updated shots from the playable game alongside the cinematics!

Gorgeous shots.Gorgeous editing. But i have to be objectively honest here, that aspect ratio is just dreadful.
I know its "cinematic", but good god, the amount of content cut out at the top and bottom is just a shame, given how beautiful the shots are. I want to see more of it, not less.
