    It's fun watching and listening to you go through almost the exact same reactions as the rest of us summit lovers did the first time we took ours out. Great video!! Love the summit!

    That’s probably the best design vehicle that Traxxas has made so far that actually works

    Great video! Summit is an awesome machine for creeks , rock fields and woods with steep terrain. I personally have the original summit. It doesnt have Lipo cutoff stock like the current summit's. Only issues was 3 Servos and the front diff went out recently after 9 years . Wow time flys bye. Also I am on my 3rd motor but that's to be expected since it spent half it's time in or under the water!

    I looked at this and thought I’d like it. It solves the biggest complaint I have with my Son’s Everest. A second gear to go a little faster when you take a break from crawling. Now I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to get one...

    The Traxxas Summit: Jack of all Trades, Master of None. To quote Jang: "The Summit is best at being a Summit." One of my favorite things about the Summit was watching the suspension work over really rough ground while blasting across in high gear. Simply a thing of beauty! 👍

      "Jack of all Trades, Master of None." You can say that about most any RC car. If you want to go out for an afternoon with no destination in mind, take the Summit. It's the master at adapting to most any terrain. It's the master of having fun anywhere. Why be the master of one thing, when you can be so damn good at so many.

    Hi Gary, you haven’t even scratch the surface of the capabilities of the summit, you MUST try it in stupidly-impossible ROUGH terrain and you’ll be amazed! Believe me,I have one for months now and It surprises me every time I take it out!! You must do a full throtle in very rough terrain, yo’ll see ...

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz

    Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

    Fantastic job! You are quickly becoming a favorite of mine on youtube with the quality of work you are putting out now. My summit has always had a special place for me because it is the truck I can take anywhere and do anything with, If I had just one, it would be it; call it my desert island RC. The lights make night driving possible and if you throw a set of chains on those massive tires, it takes to the snow extremely well. The brushed motor is great for creek runs over waterfalls and rocks and the slower gear makes FPV trailing a blast. I have run mine with the Castle MMX and 2200KV motor from the start, the new sensored version is pretty much the best thing that can happen to the summit.

    Avoid messing with the suspension at all costs! That was one of my mistakes. Stiffening the suspension in any way will put stress on components that were designed to be stress-free in some places because of the jelly shocks. You will snap bulkheads, hubs, & arms in the weirdest places.

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz

      Hummm sounds like I'm in for a set of skid plates

    • @drog343
      @drog343 6 років тому

      The T-Bone Racing chassis skid is nice, but you don't need any of their other stuff, like for the a-arms or their front and rear bumpers, what comes on the truck is more than good enough. Although, if you want to try the stiffer suspension options Hot Racing makes the little cantilever rocker mounts for the push rods which have all 3 stiffness settings where you just have to change where you connect the push rods (otherwise with the Traxxas option you'd have to get 3 separate sets).

    A Traxxas Gary likes... and basically a revo no less.
    Quo the twilight themesong..
    Just got into crawling as well. The technical aspect of it is extremely appealing. Maintenance is easy compared to bashing 1/8 monster trucks. Runtime is also ridiculous. I’ve yet to drive my scx10.2 to cutoff.

      I bought a Axial Bomber for $400 and it has broken so much I had to pump another $250 into it and it still isn’t right. Don’t even feel comfortable driving it. However, a new Summit $475 and will need very very little money to keep it going. More fun too!!!!

      Peter Ronzoni man sorry for your luck. Had nutn by good luck with axial , knock on wood. Can't go wrong with bomber. This is a diff beast though.

      Steve Declark Summit is a great crawling and trailing machine, It is almost twice the size of other 1/10 scale crawler. If you are not into true scale crawling, summit can't be beat. Non of the other scale truck have the speed of Summit at second gear. Which is a bonus when you want to bash like where you just saw in this video.

      Just want to share some experience on 2065 mini servo with you. One of the tiny gear inside is like a potato chip. If you really have to adjust the spring saver. Do it only when the power is off. The torque with just unscrewing that hex with power on can strip that gear 100%(in my case). I stripped 2 with power on, and 1 with power off . That 1 gear is just that weak and tiny.

  • @rcrehab9623
    @rcrehab9623 6 років тому +1

    Get get why you were saying it's better than the Nero but it's honestly not fair to compare the two they are two totally different trucks ment for different things ...now if you threw a brushed setup in the Nero it would probly make a great crawler aswell with a couple changes..but anything with big tires and enough clearance will crawl.. idk I love the looks of the summit but idk I just don't see where it's expressive rig. Maybe it's just the stank of Traxxas over powering the truck lol idk

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz
      @killeroffroadhobbyz  6 років тому +1

      It's the only other rig with lockable diff's and even if the Nero was brushed it would not even come close to the Summit. The Nero cost more as well

    • @rcrehab9623
      @rcrehab9623 6 років тому +1

      KillerOffRoadHobbyz I get the similarities but the all lock mode in the Nero was never ment to crawl crawl it was ment to play and get you out if a bad spot the summit is ment to crawl crawl ...thats why I say they two were ment for two totally diff purposes but I do get the comparison
