If I were to rewrite anything in the game it would be the wig scene in the beginning. Have him get brushed by the boomerang and go flying, he crashes into a costume tent and when he’s dusted off he looks in one of the shattered mirrors to see a white wig on his head. Instead of “not in a million years.” He’d say something like “Looking good.”
Same here, for the part he held back by security out of liliths club. Instead of him just writing "fuck you" it wouldve been better if he just wrote his name
Most overhated game I’ve ever seen. While the story is absolutely dog water, the gameplay is fantastic, and no one ever talks about that. The level design is easily the best devil may cry has ever seen too. I wish this existed as a spin off series and had a sequel but with a better story, kind of existing as different stories that are not connected at all. Also this game should’ve been a bit harder. I really enjoyed it tho
Even the director of DMC 5 wanted to make a sequel to this game, but basically had to settle for DMC 5. That's why theres clearly some of this games influence in that one.
Nah it's hated for good reason but it's true that if the game was its own thing started its own new trilogy series not related to Devil May Cry, it would've faired a lot better. The music was great, the controls were good, and the level design was creative. It just needed to be its own thing instead of a reboot of a beloved popular franchise.

I can’t get past the story and the gameplay. I hated the commands for certain attacks, Vergils whole ass existence in this title, and I just can’t get behind new Dante cause I have to look at him. No amount of classic Dante would help that personality. But I will forever stand that this game has one of my favorite soundtracks along with 5 and 3. But I hold this game only above devil may cry 2. Doesn’t mean this is a bad game, just shouldn’t have been called devil may cry.
Everyone has their preferences. the normal dmc fanbase swears that reboot bad original good, but there are some good stuff about reboot dmc ie. level design (the best in any dmc game imo) soundtrack and combat flow
@@Aswero21 as a Classic dmc Elitest. I can acknowledge the strength this game has as a game. But I have criticisms that are just faults of the game itself. No native lock on even in the DE it’s not an actual operating lock on like other games in the genre, those stupid color coding enemies, the way the devil trigger works like why is there no super armor in the hardcore mode, a really crappy story I’m sorry Vergil really sucks and is worst off then Dante fight me, that and for whatever reason the game likes to break the flow of gameplay to have enemies spawn in. Like that’s okay if you’re introducing a new enemy but in combat scenarios where I’m killing enemies and enjoying the rather great combat when it’s allowing me to express myself, just to have gameplay ripped from me, and that’s okay if you’re showing an enemy for the first time, not when I see the same chainsaw and big boy enemy spawn in. No taunt button to help charge DT mid battle, and shitty boss fights. I will say this The combat I already said is great, and the Soundtrack is a banger through and through Combichrist did the music and have a whole album with the full versions of songs in the game, visually this game is spectacular like every game in the series, the platforming has some thought in it, and yes even though I fucking Hate Vergil in this game the contributions that this game had to vergils Gameplay is great, and that Bob Fox News boss fight is great. I just wish there wasn’t so much about this game that held it back cause this isn’t a bad game it’s a even good one, and if I can say this I’m glad that DMC5 and 4SE chose to pull from this game cause there is something that can be spectacular here. But I recently have played through it up to… probably before the Mundus fight on son of sparda, and yes on hardcore for whatever hood the lock on in this game like staying locked on when doing over drive so he auto corrects.
or use a USB adapter, i got that ps2 controller adapter port. it works great. . . . but always had issue with GoW3 Jump input, always registers as slight press even if i hold it (i know it's been patched long ago, im playing pre patched version to use easy mode glitch)
I bet to you that if this wasn't a Devil May Cry game that this game would be a lot more succesful. But it was actually one of my favorite of the DMC games. Matter of fact I like them all... (Besides 2, I still have yet to finish that...)
ehhh, i think it's best shot would've been calling it inspired by DMC and not having the character names from DMC. it'd be less successful, but much less hated too also congrats on playing 2, it may suck but it's not a soul-wrenching experience and playing the games without knowing some lore from something always feels empty to me, idk about you. people really like saying "don't play DMC2" but imo, get HD collection for the bundle and play it till you don't wanna
Honestly my fav DMC- storywise not so great but killer soundtrack and the gameplay I had so much more fun with than the other games. The combat was amazing and it's still my fav hack and slash to this day
10/10 soundtrack. Really sad they didn't bring combichrist back for DMC5 at least for Dante. We got ONE song that is below average instead of like 15 combi tracks like DmC had

I like DmC but Vergil is easily the biggest downgrade by far, reboot Dante’s not too bad tbh but Vergil in 3 is straight up one of the best rivals in video games period while Vergil in the reboot is a complete joker
@@MILDMONSTER1234 I will humor the low hanging fruit line... it's purpose was NOT to be funny, it was the first time Vergil had actually lowered his professional attitude around Dante. There was more character development in that one line than Nero has gotten across two whole ass games

Given it’s a reboot it’s not out of place. And are you talking about the Definitive Edition or the original release? The Definitive Edition made it harder to get an S Rank, especially on Hardcore Mode.
I don't see anyone mention this, but this track is most certainly dynamic. When you're doing well, that's when the chorus kicks in.
Dynamic soundtracks are honestly the best.

i'd switch the "Looking Good" part with "Maybe Later" as a tiny foreshadowing/spoiler. i mean in the end he get his hair white

If you have a ps4 they've released a remastered version of it there. Probably won't feel as nostalgic but stilll my guy.
My PS3 quit working because all of my data on it got corrupted so now I have a PS4 and i have DmC definitive edition for it
You can use a ps4 controller instead and it'll still work with the ps3

Are you talking about the original or Definitive Edition? The latter made the Style meter harder to fill, especially on Hardcore Mode.
