I think if this DMC was it's own seperate IP it would have done really well. Instead of calling it DMC they should have called it Nephilim or something and have it be it's own seperate series while also having the DMC games we know and love
Agreed. Reminder DMC itself was made a seperate IP because a resident evil game didn't feel like it fit with the series. Another branch wouldn't have really hurt, especially since it remains a one-off.

I don't _hate_ this Dante design, he looks very punk/grungy like someone who'd listen to lots of Refused or something. It fits this games tone, which was grittier. I like the game and the tone, but the DMC5 Dante design is the best. (Could do without the scruff tho.)
@@heyitsjustaz fun fact it actually wasn't mean to rip on the original design when he saw the white wig, it was actually a reference to later in the story how at the beginning Dante is basically a douche but at the end when his hair turned white he was less of a douche, it was basically him looking at a more mature version of himself and pushing it aside. This design we got this grungy one is purely because the original design for this game was "not western enough" according to capcom.
@Vitaminh D everone has his own test but the "story is fascinating in the reboot" that the biggest lie in the world it the same as (they live) story the gameplay was mediocre at best and the dialog was cringy all of it was "fuck you" on loop Again if you like the game that fine but dont go a round spreading lies
@White-Van Helsing Capcom and especially Itsuno realized after 10 years that they had a incredibly fucked up timeline and now people care about story even if the game is based on action so they had to deliver on Dante and Vergil actually aging because they're half humans whereas in the games before they just did whatever since the focus was killing demons as Dante. I'm just glad he kept his some of his style in his old age not bad for being a grandpa I would definitely take stylish grandpa over stylish emo kid any day I mean he even did the MJ's moonwalk he did in Billie Jean.
agree. infact if people would pay attention they would know what writers trying to give us was a fresh character. a dante that soon to be became the dante that we know. game's story plenty of time showed us that they were planning to turning him into our known dante by slowly making his hair white or give him his red coat whenever he stops time. only difference is they wanted to give him as a developted character. which is why i really dont understand the hate of classic dmd fans. hate to say it but classic dante was dull ass-fuck. no matter the situation is he cant never be more than just a ''cool guy''. he had an anime made character's artificiality. it was like he borned cool and never something else before this dante actually has a character. he carrying the burdens of his hard past and that dragged him to be some punk who dont give a shit about the world. he is flawed in a relatable way. but then he meets kate and vergil he learns more about himself, learns more about them and their values and even after one point he even embraces their values and starting to care what to do with his life for the world.
