Fat Mike talks about working on Melvinator - Eric Melvin's electronic project #punkrock #punk #nofx #fatmike #podcast #music #electronicmusic #nineinchnails
Man, I love Eric's stuff. I like that he's doing something so different from his day job, yet still related. It's very "Wax Trax". Front 242, Lard, stuff like that. He could have called it LOTSOFFX. :)
Don't worry, these are just quick videos he does whenever can, to keep us interested in the channel. the podcast will be back in full force, especially once NOFX play their last show. these are still pretty interesting to me, but I do miss the longform show, because I love it
Of course its going to be difficult not to hear similarities to The Prodigy when it's something like what one could imagine what electronic dance punk music would sound like. Would be interesting to hear if either you, Mike, or Eric, as individuals or even under the NOFX banner have ever tried to get in contact with Liam Howlett....could make for quite an interesting collaborative effort. I do remember what I understand as one of your first forays into the electronic dance music 'scene' with Sonic Animation on the farm down at Torquay Australia over the Easter weekend Mike. The lads and I had munched many an E by that weekend at both raves, clubs and of course all the punk gigs that came about during those halcyon days, always great times!
Dude, I love this. It's fun to be creative in different ways just for the hell of it. It reminded me a bit of KMFDM with splash of your writing style in there.
I remember hearing teen spirit for the first time but will never ever ever forget Perry handing me his headphones in like first week of school 95 "this song is called greencorn
How the fuck did I miss this album? I don't understand and I'm very disappointed with myself. Thank you, Mike. You've given me a fresh Mel Yell and made me a very happy old fella.😊
Who is it that sings both, the 2nd, & 3rd lines of the Podcast Tune? Is it dude? Your “Co-Host” So sorry that I forgot his name. The Co-Defendants dude…..?
@FatMikesFatMic been a fan of NOFX since 93 when I was in 6th grade. Just want you to know you made a huge impact in my life for the positive. You recently said on an interview that NOFX was not good for radio because of your voice… for me your voice and lyrics are a main reason NOFX is so good. It’s crazy when I hear your voice it like teleports me through time. Love seeing you on UA-cam brother. ❤
My whole life I thought you were allot bigger than me. Then when we hung out I realized we’re the same height and you’re not really fat. Some electro is awesome. This is more on the industrial side. Kinda like prodigy.🐸🍺🔪🔥
Didn't expect the song to actually be pretty almost maybe kinda good 😮! I love how relevant that album is nowadays. It's really insane how we had all thought President Chaney, i mean President Bush was the worst leader that our country has, and WOULD ever see. God i miss those days
It baffles me that you hate Donald Trump as a punk rocker when he is the biggest middle finger, anti establishment, and disruption to politicians and Washington DC.
Man, I love Eric's stuff. I like that he's doing something so different from his day job, yet still related. It's very "Wax Trax". Front 242, Lard, stuff like that. He could have called it LOTSOFFX. :)
Love it! Reminds me of LARD!
On the real real.. you guys are slaying it in video(s) and experimenting with new sounds! Love the samples too and the percussive sound- well done
i like how this started as a real podcast and now it's just mike listening to songs....

Awesome track. Please do a whole album like this. 🤞😬
I think this used to be called Industrial back in the day.
Dude, I love this. It's fun to be creative in different ways just for the hell of it. It reminded me a bit of KMFDM with splash of your writing style in there.

Thanks fat Mike love when you share your music with us!
Can't wait for the episode about the song he wrote for Taylor swift
Sounds like Billy Idol's CyberPunk album, which was unusual and the first album to have an email address and internet promotion.
Fuck yea, you rock Melvin. From bow tie guy.
What's the music that plays before Nofx goes on stage ?
I saw this on Drinks With Johnny last year.
The music kind of reminds me of Ministry! Great shit!
I remember hearing teen spirit for the first time but will never ever ever forget Perry handing me his headphones in like first week of school 95 "this song is called greencorn
That'll change your life in an instant.
didnt realize the album already dropped....just went and bought a copy...thanks F M

hell ya I didn't know melvin was in Intro5pepct
I hate it, but if this randomly started playing at a club and I didn't realize it existed, I'd be all into it.
This fuckin rocks
Ahora si me cae bien 😊
Wouldn't this fall under the genre "Industrial"?
How the fuck did I miss this album?
I don't understand and I'm very disappointed with myself.
Thank you, Mike. You've given me a fresh Mel Yell and made me a very happy old fella.😊
dude, you're my hero.
Kinda reminds me of Error, the Brett Gurewitz side project.
Noice
Did Melvin just... turned me into electronic music?? :-o
Yes and it's awful
I can get down with this
Has a ministry feel
This is hard

Who is it that sings both, the 2nd, & 3rd lines of the Podcast Tune?
Is it dude?
Your “Co-Host”
So sorry that I forgot his name.
The Co-Defendants dude…..?

vertical stripes are good Mike
You said he killed it and I think that is a more than fair assessment. Whatever “it” is, he killed the fuck out of it. Dead.
Glad I got high right befor3e watching this lol
This is how I picture German News (musically)
Electronic but it’s still punk at the core
My whole life I thought you were allot bigger than me. Then when we hung out I realized we’re the same height and you’re not really fat. Some electro is awesome. This is more on the industrial side. Kinda like prodigy.🐸🍺🔪🔥
More like Ministry.
This song and video came out a year ago…
Hey mike get riff audio on the show!
Melvin can finally be his true weirdo self.

Fat Mike is 192lbs? There’s no way. I’m 5’10, weigh 145lbs and get called out on being skinny every day.
Its all in how you carry it. Mike isn't nimble,he walks with his spine hunched backwards doing yhat weird hip walk.
He’s about our height. I’m 5’7 and I weigh 142. Fat Mike is not fat. He’s a little chubby if anything
Sounds like Ministry’s red headed stepbrother
uggghhh i weigh more than fat mike? i gotta get my shit together
The band Ministry could have been, if they gave 60% instead of 50%
📞
🤔???🧀
MELVIN EINSTEIN
Pharmaceutical man
What’s up fat Mike, been a minute, F day 6
And 1
And 4
And whatever
Thank Buddha and Santa Cruz for day 117
melvin seems to be taking a page off of uncle al
American errorist is good but i like the original
Gives me that Ministry Psalm 69 vibe
Didn't expect the song to actually be pretty almost maybe kinda good 😮! I love how relevant that album is nowadays. It's really insane how we had all thought President Chaney, i mean President Bush was the worst leader that our country has, and WOULD ever see. God i miss those days
I feel like the track started strong, went kinda weird and off, then ended strong.
Pew pew pew pew jew jew jew jew pew pew
Find out what restaurant your mom and dad are going to
All fx 😂
192 is a lie he’s 2x my size and I’m 195
Side burns make ur face wider
The war has just begun?
For an industrial song I give it a solid 4/10
A perfect 5/7
Great now Melvin’s on drugs 🙄
Ministry for the poor.
Jon 5-ish.
lol not at all
I thought Melvin was great!
Melvin will be broke a couple years after the last nofx show.
No
It baffles me that you hate Donald Trump as a punk rocker when he is the biggest middle finger, anti establishment, and disruption to politicians and Washington DC.
