      dont forget the fact they ignored how grenades work once you pull the pin you have to actually let go of the grenade for its countdown to start cause the pin holds down a lever that activates the grenade and when you pull the pin your hand will be holding down the lever so how did it blow if white nico never let go?

      One thing to keep in mind is that the events are shown in cinematic time for dramatic effect. If this was an actual game, all of these events and actions would be happening more or less at the same time, and a lot more quickly.

      The newer stuff is great, but I do miss the feel of some of these older videos. Back when it was about coming up with the most creative ideas because that's how UA-cam was back in the day. This and brush with death are probably still my two favorite Corridor videos because they were just so creative. They were what inspired me to make videos back in the day and while I chose a different career path, I still have fun doing VFX stuff as a hobby.

      Well at that point, Sam’s Purple and Orange were already dead. If he had let things play out as they had before, Sam’s White would kick the grenade to Blue, then Niko’s Blue would have shot him. He had to do something to change the flow of things, since Sam’s Orange couldn’t save his Blue. The only problem was that since Sam killed his own White, that unlinked Niko’s Orange early to kill Sam’s Blue. And then of course since Sam’s White was dead, Niko’s White never threw his grenade and that allowed him to pull is game winning kamikaze stunt.
      Boy that’s confusing as hell to explain. I think I got it right.

    • @MichaelMoore99
      @MichaelMoore99 4 роки тому +20

      @@gavinli1368 Sam Black shooting Sam White didn't unlink Niko Orange right away, though. Listen to the sound effects. Niko Orange only unlinked when he was about to shoot Sam White (already dead), just before he shot Sam Blue, then got shot by Sam Black.
      I suspect that Sam Black shot Sam White to disrupt the flow of everything else early enough for himself to take advantage, but too late for Niko. He knew that he was losing if everything continued to play out as it previously did. Sam White literally did nothing else in the loop after kicking the grenade. He was killed by Niko Orange in the previous loop, but it was late in the loop (just before the reset). So Sam Black knew that Niko Orange would be stuck on the path for a while, while unlinked Sam Blue not picking up the grenade would be free to change things for a longer amount of time.
      The problem was that he didn't know that Niko Black had unlinked Sam Orange and Niko Blue with the wood. Sam Orange was supposed to kill Niko Blue, and that's what Sam Black was planning on still happening. Sam Black didn't know Sam Orange had already died. Sam Black was expecting Sam Blue to be a wild card, but Niko Blue and Niko White ended up being the wild cards. (Also, Sam Black may have expected Niko White to blow himself up with the armed grenade due to not having a target anymore, but didn't expect the kamikaze move.)
      It was a risky, desperate gamble. It could've worked, but it didn't pay off.

      @@MichaelMoore99 Hey I know that profile pic. Admiral Memo! LRR!
      But yeah, I see what you mean about hoping Sam Blue would be a wild card. The second to last round ended with Sam Blue still being alive just after he caught the grenade and tossed it under the truck at Niko Orange. If things had continued that same way, Sam Blue could have done anything after that.
      And after giving this thing another rewatch, I noticed that we don't see any of either Purple's at the start of the final round. Imagine the massive upset if Sam Black killed Niko Purple before he killed Sam Purple.

    For those that are confused, this is how "CLOCK BLOCKERS" works.
    There is a commander and 4 units. There are five rounds. The last man standing on the fifth round is the victor. A round ends when time runs out. On round one, both sides control one unit.
    On the next round, one unit is added on both sides and all previous units are sent to "spawn." The catch, however, is that the old unit(s) (as in not the new one) will follow a predetermined path - the path they followed in the previous round.
    A unit is unlinked if what they are trying to do is disrupted; such as trying to catch a grenade that isn't even thrown due to intervention. An unlinked unit is essentially free: it doesn't follow a predetermined path and will adapt to the situation. The unit, however, is only unlinked for the current round.
    The commander joins the fifth and final round.
    EDIT: This is NOT a game. It's a youtube short film modeled after a game. The closest game to this would be Time Rifters.

    • @EvanGaoTV
      @EvanGaoTV 4 роки тому +35

      @@Musically_Declined No, it's actually very similar to this. Quantum League has a mechanic called "Desync" instead of "Unlink" where after you "die" you become invisible and you can continue to perform actions like shoot and run (they just don't affect anyone). In a future round, if the desync is prevented by killing the person who desynced you, those actions that your previous clone did have real consequences. It's actually an incredibly cool mechanic, but unfortunately, it takes a lot of experience, skill, and brainpower to execute. I think that's the reason why many people think the game is chaos, when in fact it is a truly innovative game. You should give Quantum League another chance!

    • @Musically_Declined
      @Musically_Declined 4 роки тому +2

      Evan Gao I know it has the same mechanics, but it doesn’t play as smoothly as it does in the video, not many people are doing intricate strategies of desyncing and killing their own teammates, it’s just people shooting any enemy they see

    Someone should model a game perfectly on this
    Here's how it would work with multiplayer
    2 people play against eachother in 5 intervals
    in the first, they control one unit and try to kill one another, when one dies then the interval ends
    Each player then controls another unit as the first retraces the steps of the first interval
    if a previous unit doesn't die when he's supposed to, the AI will take over and use information from previous intervals to kill opposing units
    The surviving player wins

    • @MegaRekless
      @MegaRekless 8 років тому +38

      Here's how I would design it;
      A player vs. another player will start off a normal match with AI. They can only control 1 AI, so the first round is normal. They pick which loadout to choose from of the 4 options. There are 5 rounds, and every round adds an AI, but they still can only control 1. After they pick which one they want to control, they cannot change it during the round. After 4 rounds, the final round is all AI's and the players attempting to kill one another. The game ends with the last AI/Player standing, and their team wins.

    • @Heedfulconch3
      @Heedfulconch3 8 років тому +17

      Fair enough, although that seems to be more of an "Overlord" kind of thing as opposed to a "Time-bending" kind of thing, y'know?

    • @MacheTheFerret
      @MacheTheFerret 8 років тому +38

      I'd imagine it being more like a team of 5 people. The "commander" is chosen at random from the 5, who then leads the team.
      Each player can choose their loadout before they even join a match, as well as in a 30 second pre-game time, incase they change their mind based on the other players.
      The commander chooses what order to send their teammates out to the battlefield. If they stall or afk for too long, the order of anyone who hasn't been picked yet is chosen at random.
      The first selected player from each team will have 20 seconds to duel and set-up blockades and support for their following teamates. When the 20 seconds ends, the next round begins. In the second round, the next player goes out to the battlefield while the previous ones are replaced with bots that copy exactly what the original players did before, however, if they get "unlinked," like they do in the video, the original players are instantly given control of their character again during that round. The timer for the round is also extended by, say, 10 seconds each round.
      This continues until the 5th and final round, where the commander himself enters the battlefield. The commander has the unique ability to press a key on a player and unlink them without doing anything extra. Unlike the previous rounds, where the goal was basically to set up for the final round, the goal of the 5th round is to be the last team standing, or to have the most alive players at the end of the round timer, and the timer is extended an additional 30 seconds.
      If the final round ends in a stalemate (ie, both teams have the same number of players remaining at the end of the timer), Sudden Death is played. In SD, all 5 players are unlinked at the start and the objective is now to just kill the commander. If THAT round ends in a stalemate, the game is declared a tie.
      There could also be a separate "bot wars" gamemode where the only real players are the commanders, requiring just two people, but I'd imagine the 5v5 version to be more fun though because there would be more control over the battle than if most of the players were stupid AI.

      If given the time it wouldn't be that tough to code either. The whole "Cloning in time" has already been done. You just need to add it objects could be interacted with (both by players and with eachother), and add in that if a new enemy enters sight, or isn't in sight at a given time that they should be, affected players are "Unlinked" and have control back.

      ***** A lot of people figured it out. Take Mirror's Edge for an example. During the time trials there is a ghost of your fastest time. All they would have to do after that is change the skin to a character in the game and repeat it each time

    • @tessverres4898
      @tessverres4898 9 років тому +3

      +Devon Mata The reason he killed white shirt Sam was to unlink blue Sam. Since orange Sam is dead, blue Nick will still be alive to kill his blue Sam without orange Sam to save him (as history would already have happen). By killing white Sam, the grenade isn't there and without the grenade, blue Sam is unlinked and saved from blue Nick. The repercussion of this is an unlinked white Nick with a grenade who goes missing. At this point, it's more beneficial to have the blue Sam run around ALIVE and unlinked rather than dead from the blue Nick.
      If we were to look at this in a better way, one could say that if Sam had just killed the white Nick or even kicked the grenade a different way, then White Nick wouldn't have gotten in the way at the end with a grenade. Granted, the rules on weapons are unclear, but it seems each clone or person is allowed only one weapon to start and any refillable mags. Even if white Nick wasn't killed and the grenade was kicked a different way, then it's possible that white Nick would have no other weapon (unless picked up), or would have to use a new grenade which would make a whole new timer entirely and the ending fight would be a longer struggle with a different outcome.

To counter, Sam killed Shotgun Sam, to unlink machinegun sam. This allowed Machinegun Sam to kill his pursuant, only to be gunned down by BFG Niko, so Sam, taking Shotgun-Sam's place could take out the BFG. It was a Queen's gambit and totally brilliant! He cleared the board by taking out his man- so he could win from a behind position; Only he ignored the pawn (which lets face it- we all did). Grenade Niko's aren't good for much. But Sam would have won if it were not for that split second move. Sam teamkilled for positioning. #MLG_ClockBlockers_4_lyfe

    So, let me see if I I know what's happening. The two GMs each summon a soldier in the first round, and they fight normally. Next round, one extra guy is added, and the previous guys have to repeat their previous actions. This goes until the round after all 4 soldiers are used, then the GMs join, being unbound by previous actions. Whichever GM survives, wins.
    But if a soldier performs an action that prevents a previous soldier from dying/ completing an action crucial to his "cycle", such as the GM blocking the rolling tyre his guy was using for cover/ said guy ambushing the guy who was supposed to kill his ally, they become unlinked, and have free will for the rest of the game.
    So, basically, you want as many unlinked soldiers as possible for the last round, because having independently thinking units is way more useful than guys bound by scripts.
    If that's right, this concept is genius- as much a strategy game as an FPS. Good work, Corridor!

    * The purples do the exact same thing every round, never getting unlinked or killed early.
    * Blue Sam only fires his gun once, in the final round.
    * Black Niko never fires his gun at all. Literally the only thing he does is throw the wood.
    * Black Sam shoots his own (White) unit, to unlink his Blue one. This comes back to bite him, as it ends up unlinking not one but two of Niko's units (White and Orange). Orange Niko goes on to kill the unit Sam just unlinked (Blue), and White Niko goes on to kill Sam.

    I think I get it. So you send out a random person with something, or nothing at all. Then,you control the person and after the sequence is done, the person will then keep on doing it until something alters the timeline, which then makes them "unlink". Since there was something that changed it, the ai then changes from its preset and does it's own thing. Each player can send out one more player and controls them to "link" with the other people you sent out. After you sent out all four of your guys, then you can join in, and since you're independent, you can do your thing alter the history. The player who is able eliminate all four ai's and the opposing player wins.

      Pretty much what I was thinking. You set each run, then they keep repeating until unlink, at which point AI takes over. It'd make quite an interesting game

    This video makes me feel weird. I love the concept so much. The possibilities...man.
    There's a mobile game called "Clones" that has the same idea, but doesn't have the unlinked feature.

    This video is 10 years old next month, and I'd STILL love to see a videogame based on this premise.
    Each round you send out a player controlled character until round end.
    Next round you take control of a new character, rinse and repeat until the final round.
    (If a link is broken, the link broken character becomes a bot.)
