Thank-you so much I own a cricut maker &cricut joy and I don't really know much about what to do only names for my grandchildren pjs and drinking cups which I add names too I am so thankful I found that I can make these for their cakes as I'm always buying then from people that cost me around £5.99 in the UK and it get expensive because I have 9 grandchildren so I will try to make these myself x
I learned how to do all of this through trial and error when I first started, but you did a wonderful job explaining every step! I wish I would have found your video a year ago! I would have saved time, money and plenty of wasted frustration. I had no clue why some of my letter would black out the hold in the letters d, a, b, etc... so thank you for teaching me why!!!! You are awesome and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world! Love a crafty hippie from Mississippi
Omg so happy I came across your page! Thanks for the video! Super short and informative :) can’t wait to try making a cake topper for the very first time! Thanks again !!
Thank you so much my daughter is 21 in a few weeks and we are in lockdown. This is giving me a lovely idea for her cake. And maybe some decorations too. ❤
I’ve been trying so many times to do this and your video is the most clear and you get straight to the point. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong
Hi my dear, TFS!!! How glad am I to have come across your video 😊☺️ Just got gifted a cricut explore air 2 for my birthday and I’m about to do my first project. I have a quick question : Do most of the projects work with the built in blade that the cricut came with it or do I need to buy extra cutting blades ? If so, how do I know what extra blades to buy? Please your help and tips would be greatly appreciated as I’m a bit confused as a first timer. Thank you ☺️
Can I use this method using my cricket cake and gumpaste? I’ve had my crocus cake for a long time but don’t really use it. Now that I see your video I want to use it. Thank you
yes! these exact ones - I love them because they are thicker than any glitter cardstock I have ever found, and they don't shed glitter what so ever. PERFECT for cupcakes, cakes, and all the edible goodies. Super sparkly and also double sided! Only sucky thing is that they only carry like 4 colors :( haha
You can select the glitter cardstock and that help to cut it in one step. I do really love the video and explanation I am a beginner :) and I love my Cricut explorer. Thank you
Such a great tutorial. Thank you. That was a great tip about the D and A and not having it fill in during welding. This whole video was full of great tips!!!
@@Zhannastar Thank you so much! I actually went out on a limb and tried it, I absolutely love the results!! Thank you again for this video and for responding
I love the tip on slicing the letters before welding. I agree its extra steps but the end result was amazing! I know you mentioned a link to where you get your fonts. I must have missed it twice, where can I get the October Twilight font? Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. I need to watch again because I am planning to purchase my very first Cricut. Should I start with a basic Crichton? Or this one you used is best?
depending on a budget, cricut explore is good for many projects. I now have a cricut maker, but I do exact same things on it that I did with the explore. so it depends on what type of projects you would do as well.
OMG! That came out great! I have been wondering how this was made. Thank you soooooo much for this amazing tutorial and the inspiration. I want to buy Cricut, but uncertain which one. I just subscribed to your channel.
this video the exact paper I used in this video. amzn.to/2PfUz0q and its 250 GSM. its really really good quality and its super sparkly, and the glitter has no fallout.
$6 for non custom one "happy birthday" "happy 21st birthday" etc and $8-$15 for a custom one. like names - sometimes people would send me photos of things or ask for characters etc so that would cost more cause of time. Those were my prices. I no longer sell them. You can also go on etsy and check out what other people are selling their similar items for to know your competition. I always try to go lower than other people BUT don't cut yourself short either. Usually its cost of supplies x 3. But I mean the glitter paper could cost you $0.32 and doesn't mean you deserve $1 lol
it does, very limited. others you have to pay for. you can also use your system fonts, which is w.e your computer comes with - which are all basic as well. thats why I go find other fonts lol
cricut maker cuts many many things, even some thin wood sheets. cricut explore is more budget friendly and does many things as well. you can use it for cake toppers. a heavy cardstock is good for cake toppers. I have this specific one that I love - I have it linked in the description below the video
You can click pause and use the cricut weeder tool to try to lift one of the cut pieces off the mat, if its not cut through, unpause and let it finish cutting, once its done, do not unload the mat, just click cut again, and it will cut over again and usually you can change the setting/pressure before cutting again or just leave the previous one and click cut again.
Hello there I was just wondering Where you can buy the machine just like yours in the video? And What is it called? Thank you so much for your tutorial video.
I really like how you showed both ways and why welding is better!
Thank you for your feedback!
Yes. True

Goodness gracious I’ve had my cricut for 2 years and you’ve just changed my world with the difference between welding and attaching. 😂🤦🏼♀️

When I enter text with the Oct Font it automatically puts them together so they are touching? Is that weird?

this specific glitter cardstock its like a plastic type of paper so thats why I couldn't use a regular glitter cardstock setting.
Thank you so much for this! I learned a lot and feel more confident using my Cricut for a topper.
Thanks so much for sharing this video
thank you for showing the diff with weld and attach

Great job! Just didn’t understand how you unwelded! I was sure that we could not unweld!
I think I clicked "undo" or it must have been attached vs welded, im not sure what part of video you are referring to
Loved the video!! This was super helpful, my only question is can this be done on an explore air 2?

deep cut blade
What program you use ? What is this canvas edit ?

yes you can, but maybe not the double sided one as the joy extra doesnt have a deep point blade
Thank you for the video! I didn’t catch how you mirrored it? Can you tell me how you did that part again please? Thank you!
you can either "flip the image horizontally" or when you click make the project, on the left it has a button that you click on that says "mirror"
Hello good tutorial . Just wanted to know what blade did you use to cut the heavy card stock?
deep cut blade. both cricut explore and cricut maker compatible
Can I use cellphone to make the layou?

Hi, what kind of cardstock should I get to make a cake topper? First timer over here!
thick heavyweight cardstock is the best. like 110lb or more
Can a Cricut Joy do the same?

Hi!!! Can you use cricut explore 2 to make a cake topper??
@@ninalatragna3356 yes! just use this or other thick cardstock, and use a "deep cut blade"
amzn.to/2Z1pkum
How long is the wooden stick? Thanks
Hi Zhanna! May I ask what kind of material you used for “bride to be” cake topper, and where to get it? It’s so shiny! 🤩
I used regular card stock and put gold sticker vinyl on the cardstock and than cut it out. couldn't find the paper I wanted so had to improvise hah
Before you unload it you make sure that it cut all the way... What if it didn't cut all the way? What can you do at that point?
You can click pause and use the cricut weeder tool to try to lift one of the cut pieces off the mat, if its not cut through, unpause and let it finish cutting, once its done, do not unload the mat, just click cut again, and it will cut over again and usually you can change the setting/pressure before cutting again or just leave the previous one and click cut again.
How would you cut glitter foam on the cricut please
