Great Tutorial :) As a cricut user myself, Just a bit of advice - if you turn the mat over and peel the mat away from the cardstock etc it is much easier to remove than doing it face up 😊
Hi Lynn, brilliant tutorial. I have a Cricut maker just got to get it out of the box and learn how to use it. Would love to see more Cricket tutorials please
I'd love to own a Cricut, and this tutorial makes using one look so easy, I may have to get one. Thanks for all the information, great explanations and walk-throughs. The toppers look amazing!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found the video useful in showing how to make them. It really was really easy to make them and there are so many possibilities of what you can make. I really enjoy having this one.
Also just got cricut and hopefuly I will learn soon how to use it properly! Your videos are great! So simple yet profesional and well explained! Thanks for that and please keep going girl with many more tutorials! 😘
The toppers are very pretty and they are loved by all and easy to make with the Cricut Maker. I also make them for my family, friends and my dogs when they have a birthday with the Cricut. The only suggestion I have is; when using glitter paper or just regular cardstock toppers I always cut a second layer (one glitter, one cardstock) & glue, so they will not bend/curl when placed on the cake.
I'm so happy you've given us a tutorial using Cricut machines 🥰 I learnt so much from your baking videos when we were in lockdown, I love the way you explain things so simply...I'd love it if you made more videos like this
Hi, Thank you so much for your comment, I am so glad you've been able to use all the videos and they have helped you. I have been so excited to share the tutorial using the Cricut machine and I'm so pleased you've enjoyed it and want to see more. x
I'm so pleased you like it Lorraine. You definitely can make things so easily on the Cricut. Thank you so much for watching and a very Happy New year to you x
Thanks for this tutorials Lynz. I've set a "target" to get me a Cricut before the mid year. Thanks again and happy year 2022. I wish you all the best. Cheers!
You are so welcome! I'm so glad it's good timing for you. I really hope the video will be useful. You are going to have so much fun with the maker, I'm sure.
This was a great tutorial, thank you. I have a Cricut but was not sure where to start so have not used it. This has taken the fear out of using it and now can’t wait to get started.
Thank you! Yes keep doing tutorial that it will help us with decorations with cakes. Try to do the “shakers” cake topper. I would like to see that. Thank you!
Another wonderful video. I shared it with my daughters who all have a Cricut. I love the different videos with all your ideas. Please keep them coming. You are so creative!
I love cake making and crafting too. I was so excited to create a crafting video around making things for cakes. I really hope you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching.
Thank you Lynz! I'm going to be using a cricut for fondant & am so glad you shared this tutorial too because making Cake toppers never occurred to me...Brilliant! You're amazing!
@@katherinewilson2026 yep :) a food safe mat can either be made or bought & by using a deep cut blade, 2D fondant peices can be cut out. Making sure that blade is used only for fondant though. Also sugar sheets or icing sheets can be ran through one too!😁
I am thinking of purchasing one as a baker , but looking on all the additional parts it needs seems overwhelming. However you have made it look so easy for real. Can you do videos with the acrylic topper too and cake gems. Thank you so much Lynn
Loved this video so easy to follow, would love to see some more, maybe cupcake toppers or non edible decorations for cakes or even character toppers. Your tutorials are always fab!
Hi Carly, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I loved making it. I will definitely be making some more cake topper tutorials using the Cricut. They will be coming very soon x
I would echo the comment about peeling the mat away from the cardstock - and also that you can use the remainder of the cardstock for other projects. I appreciate that the video was sponsored by Cricut, but there are also many, many free fonts available that can be used for all kinds of projects. It's a great video - probably a bit fast for beginners to follow with regard to the use of Design Space, but there are so many resources available to learn how to use the Cricut range of machines, that it really isn't a problem :)
Hi Selene, What good timing. I'm so pleased you like the video and I really hope it will be useful to help you make some toppers with your Cricut machine x
Hi Lynz, thank you for the video. What kind of material can you use to do the text charm for cakes (for names on cake) with the cricut maker? Thanks for your response.
I had so much fun creating the cake toppers and they were so quick and easy to make with the Cricut machine. I can't wait to make more crafting projects now!
I have a new tutorial today showing how to make a shaker style cake topper if this would be any use to you. You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/Uh2eZywt1xo/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for this tutorial Lynz, I got a cricut explore air 2 late last year to make cake toppers and have had some success but you make it look so easy. Did it take you long to get to grips with it? Would love to see more videos from you on the Cricut (with a little more explanation perhaps)? Many thanks ☺️
Hi Lynz Great video having just acquired a cricut machine ...can you let me know which cardstock you use to make the toppers ...theres so much around I don't know which is best. Many thanks Joy 😊
I would love to make more videos using this machine. I was worried about trying to put too much in the video as I know there is so much you can do with it. I can definitely make more videos. Happy New Year to you too x
Hi, You are very welcome. I'm using the Cricut design space to design the letters for the cake toppers. You can work on this on the computer, on a tablet or on a mobile too. It then links up to your Cricut machine.
Hi Lynz, is this machine capable of doing edible prints too? For example for cupcake toppers? Hope that makes sense 😬 or do you know what would but love this thanks for the video x
Hi! I have just got a Cricut maker. I made a happy birthday cupcake topper - did it all step by step according to this video. I used the Cricut pastel glitter card stock. When I used the spatula to get the topper off of the matt, it rips off the back paper of the glitter card in places, so the topper looks so messy and ripped on the back. Yours wasn’t like this. Any advice?
Hi Amber, I'm sorry to hear it wasn't as easy to get off. Are you using a brand new mat? In my experience one thing I've found is if the mat is brand new it is really really sticking making it harder to peal the toppers off. After a few uses it is a lot easier to get the card off and slide the spatula underneath. If it was a new mat I would try sticking some paper to the mat and pealing it off a few times to see if it makes it easier to peal off. Cricut also sell different mats with different levels of stickiness, I was using the standard mat. I really hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
Hi Jamie, for the 1st topper I used the font 'Annie Leu'. For the 2nd, I used 'Everyday Fonts - Announcement' and for the 3rd I used 'Hey Marilyn' for the Happy Birthday and 'Kyden' for the name. All the fonts were Cricut fonts.

Hi Lynz. Thank soo much for your amazing tutorials . I live in South Africa. Where is Cricut Machine made as wondering if I will find it in SA?
Any chance you will do a video on making cake stencils?
Hello! As always great video! How do you make cake charms? That directly stick to the cake, is there a food safe vinyl and card stock?
Hi, this is a great tutorial. Where did you get the acrylic topper piece from?
Lynz Tnq ❤️ from where did you get that???more details pls
Are the cake toppers sturdy enough to stand on their own or do you have to put some kind of backing on them? Thanks!
I brought mine to cup icing sheets so not sure if i can do this with the same blade. Do I need to purchase a second blade for non edible items?
what was the weight of the glitter cardstock? I'm finding it hard to find thick cardstock in South africa? Most available colours are in 160gsm
you can use your suagr sheets and also make fondant names too for your cakes
Can you tell me what the name of the fonts were that you used on the happy birthday Sophie project, please?
Can you use glitter cardstock in place of the sticker paper?
Loved your demo...how can we buy that machine?

Do you connect it to the computer? How were you designing?
Can I edit and connect to my phone instead of my computer? ♥️
