  • In this video I'll bring you along and show you my challenges as I follow the manufacturers instructions on how to turn off the lighted nocks... SPOILER ALERT, I had no success in turning them off. When I called the company I was told by customer service representative who looked up my order details, that there are apparently a different set of instructions than the ones that came printed on my box. The other directions call for using a small screwdriver.
    #CP400SelectCarbonArrows
MY ORDER: I purchased two of the 3 PACK'S of CenterPoint Archery CP 400 SELECT AAROWS WITH LIGHTED NOCKS (AXCP4SLN3PK) directly from CenterPoint Archery's website.
Be sure to watch the video until the end to get the customer service Reps feedback... My product review of the arrow performance is that these 20" (lighted nock) bolts shoot straight and the lighted nocks are awesome, if only you can figure out how to properly turn the lighted nock off.
UPDATE: The customer service rep finally sent me the "screwdriver" directions for turning off the lighted nock. Unfortunately those directions are for the AXCA203PKLN arrows which per the directions have a hole on the side of the nock which you are to insert a field tip or small screw driver between the battery and the colored plastic then push the plastic toward the throat. NOTE: On that same page it also has the written directions for the CP400 Select Arrow AXCP4SLN3PK (my arrows with no hole on the side) and those directions are word for word the same as I showed in my video that came printed on the box. I'm back to square one with no clear answer to how I am going to get these arrows turned off once I shoot them.
BREAK THROUGH: Since I was clearly on my own to figure this out (and I had two replacement arrows on the way and had nothing to lose) I decided to get a bit aggressive and experimental on getting my arrows (still slightly lit) to turn off. I did not use the rubber arrow puller. I didn't pinch the arrow at the nock. I pinched the graphite arrow shaft about 1/4 inch below the metal collar which is directly below the nock and got one of my arrows to turn off.
I only got 1 of 2 arrows to turn off that way. I can see why they tell you to use a rubber arrow puller. My hands are shot again and arrow #2 won't shut off by pinching it.
I later got the 2nd arrow to shut off by smacking it against the rubber arrow puller. That can't be good for graphite... I've done some more research and found a video on "turning Lumenoks off easily" here is the link, that video is on the bottom right side. lumenok.com/pages/media - I'm not sure if that approach will work for these arrows or not. I will try it and report back.
I purchased a lumenok arrow puller and extinguisher ($10) and it does help to turn the nock off, however it doesn't work near as well as they show it on their video listed above. Just be ready to really have to work at getting these arrows to turn off. Even with the extinguisher I had 2 different arrows light back up 5 minutes after I had turned them off.
    Thanks for watching.

I use a pair of welding tool pliers and make sure I don't grab onto the arrow or serving.

Following the manufacturers written instructions. The manufacturer should have given better more specific instructions.

I had no problem turning them off easy as 123. All you have to do is put the arrow puller on the nock and shake the arrow up and down the nock will shut off.

How do you remove their nocks when they no longer work? Thought I had turned it off but I guess I didn’t. Just shot it and it no longer lights up

This is so simple to fix look up lumenock but no one tried a pair of pliers and then if you put a little wax on nock before you install. The arrow puller thing really you have a high speed crossbow you should have one because they help pull arrows. With string wax it will turn with puller.

Just do what you were doing then point the bolt towards the ground while squeezing the nock only in the arrow puller. wiggle the bolt back and forth and the nock will shut off. I have the Lumenok lighted nocks which have to be turned off the same way. I think the Lumenok puller works better.. Videos are on UA-cam of people doing this. ua-cam.com/video/7zDngecwSUA/v-deo.html

Obviously your arrow puller is too soft. I have an arrow puller but choose to use a short piece of gas hose that I made a small split in so the arrow would fit in. Grab the knock, let the arrow swing back and forth and squeeze the knock. It works!

Good luck with those I have to Ravin crossbows and I have the lighted arrows you have to get a TenPoint Arrow puller it looks kind of like a pair of pliers but they are rubber you grab the knock and wiggle it up and down and it will shut off but they are made by Burt coyote Lumenok you buy them and use them this year and then next year they are dead the batteries in them are no good so you would be better off just to shoot their arrows that do not light up I am shooting the ones that supposed to light up because I've got the crossbow sighted in with them but they are a waste of money because to replace those nocks they're like 40 or $50 for three who wants to have to buy those every year

They tell you "DO NOT USE PLIERS" because they want you to spend more money on their products. I use standard pliers WITH A GENTLE GRIP, wiggle it A LITTLE, and boom, they go off and can be reused over and over. Just use common sense, don't over-squeeze with the pliers, and don't over-wiggle. If you wiggle a smidge and it doesn't turn off, wiggle A LITTLE more. Sooner or later it'll start to flicker, and that'll be your cue as to how much pressure and wiggle to use.

Ravin runs the same design and they are junk and they are aware of this problem, I have the tool and it’s too hard to turn it off even with pliers and this can damage your arrows and make your bow blow up, I called ravin and told them they are complete junk and I’ll never run lighted nocks with them until they get a better design, we should have to take 5 plus mins to turn it off .. ten points alpha nocks are the best this is literally the worse nock system I have ever used I’m now running normal nocks and they are sending me a 6 pack of arrows over this issue terrible design

I shot ten points arrows with the alpha knocks on them, and one broke, because they do not have the brass insert between the knock and bolt like the cp400 bolts do. I believe that brass insert is needed

Very poor design. Too much drama to turn it off. You shouldn't wiggle your nocks. Ever. The carbon bolts crack very easily.
