I am not a professional investor and have never claimed to be. I'm an amateur investor sharing my experience of what I've learned, where I have had success, and where I've had failures. I share my thoughts on investing and performance with transparency. My approach and goal to investing is to buy high-quality long-term investments in world-class businesses that I call "compounders". I view my investments as businesses, not as stocks. Before creating content on UA-cam full time I worked as a senior-level programmer for 8 years. Over the years as a programmer, I compounded my knowledge of development. I take the same iterative learning approach to my study of investing. My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.
The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.
Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.
Is there any chance you could recommend who you work with? I've wanted to make this switch for a very long time now, but I've been very hesitant about. I'll appreciate any recommendation.
Finding financial advisors like Melissa Terri Swayne who can assist you shape your portfolio would be a very creative option. There will be difficult times ahead, and prudent personal money management will be essential to navigating them.
Thanks a lot for this recommendation. I just looked her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.

As an investment enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. I do have a significant amount of capital that is required to start up but I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to approach to help me make decent returns
Proper research, good analysis and luck is what you need to make profit in this constant market decline. It's all about finding the right moment to take advantage of and generate colossal profit, which is why you need to do your research
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.
@@mariaguerrero08Mind if I ask you to recommend this particular coach you using their service?
'Gertrude Margaret Quinto' maintains an online presence. Just make a simple search for her name online.
I looked up her full name online and found her page. I emailed and made an appointment to talk with her; hopefully, she gets back to me.
I've been trading stocks with a broker and currently compounding over $830k. My investment was diversified between amazon and some other well performing stocks.
It's good to get financial planning from someone qualified. I've been trading stocks with my FA, Ann Marie Celentano and I've scaled from 150k last year to 910k. I recommend this approach to other investors.
Thank you sharing this. I looked up her name on google and I’m impressed. I just reached out from her website.

Market highs can sometimes be followed by corrections, but predicting the timing and extent of it is challenging. I've heard some analysts talk about a 'massive' correction. It makes me wonder if it's time to adjust my $2M portfolios or maybe even consider some defensive investments.
Consider diversifying your portfolio with a mix of stocks and stable assets. Seeking professional advice now could provide valuable insights and strategies to navigate market uncertainties and protect your investments.
I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having investing nightmare prior touching base with a advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $2m with the help of my advisor from an initial $350k investment.
I’ve been down a ton, I’m only holding on so I can recoup, I really need help, who is this investment-adviser that guides you

Great episode Joseph. Thank you!
Investors have just turned back the clock on the Fed’s tightening campaign and cast aside the Fed fears that ruled them for 15 months, It just gets very daunting to me when I’m sitting there looking at charts and trying to determine if i’m right or wrong! I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $300K for sometime now, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions
First of all, You could lose it all and you could win it all. It goes both ways. Secondly, what works for A may not necessarily work for B and you should not be a bandwagon investor. A good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge.
It’s unfortunate most people don’t have such information, I don’t really blame people who panic cos lack of information can be a big hurdle. I’ve been making more than $25k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don’t have to do much work. It doesn’t matter if the economy is crashing, great CFA will always make good returns.
this is inspiring! could you be kind enough with details of your advisor please? highly suspect i'm much too small game lately to handle investing myself, figured out its best to consult a license professional at this point

Thanks for another great video! What do you think about highlighting all the negative attributes of one of your stocks? I am curious to a bear case for Amazon for example
Regulatory risk is a big one. If the europe and the US both go after amazon and significantly weaken their value proposition (for example by forcing them to allow third party logistics with worse service) it could damage Amazon's reputation for customers. There's many other risks as well but I look at regulation as a big one.
Thank-you for the video.
Still remember your discussion re: 1:20 as clear as a day and bought it at $85. Now 70% up!
The most significant lesson I gained from the stock market in 2023 is that uncertainty prevails, emphasizing the importance of humility. Adhering to a long-term strategy with a competitive edge is key
Certainty eludes everyone; thus, it's vital to establish your own methodology, handle risk, and adhere to your strategy unwaveringly. This commitment should endure challenges and successes, all while maintaining a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.
Embracing uncertainty, I realized after five years that attempting to predict market outcomes through chart analysis was futile due to the unpredictable nature. My lack of a mentor led to six years of struggle. I transitioned to following the market's direction and adopting a straightforward, disciplined approach.
Who is the professional who is advising you, if you could perhaps tell us? As a novice investing in stocks without the correct direction of a professional, I have lost a lot of money.
Certainly, I am still working with Camille Anne Hector. Having her in my corner has been a game-changer for my financial well-being. Does qualtrim (idk if i spelled that right) do stocks on other markets like the ASX?
Honestly, most portfolios are doing great across the board. Pick just about any major stock or index and most are hitting all time highs. The real test is going to be in the next 12 months or so.
Hello....Why might it be that some companies that have recently presented their quarterly results do not appear with their updated quarterly result on Quualtrim? Some examples are CCL (revenue, fcf), PFE (fcf), CP (revenue)?
How about Temu and other Chinese amazon like company's are those any problem for future Amazon?
I hope you are right man!
Hello, any suggestion of an application to manage my own portfolio ? Cash included ?
Thanks
Hope so, I am finally even after adding Amazon 2 years ago.
All great points in your video! Thanks. I would add, as you have mentioned in previous videos on AMZ, that Prime Video is keyed into over 200 million Prime subscribers, and just launched Ads on their free offering. This is likely to only further boost Ad revenues. And more broadly who knows exactly how AI will turbo their productivity and results. A $220 PT may ultimately price to be conservative. I’m holding (and enjoying) a massive position in AMZN.
Love your analysis. I think you are correct, One can beat the market through understanding information correctly, a right process in place and a lot of patience. Thank you
Hey man, can I buy Amazon stock to outperform the market this year? Really tired of these new buys every week, just to make up some assets with low percentage on my $220k portfolio and try to keep everything around 15%. Need your help man.
If you lack knowledge about market investing tactics and portfollo positioning, get advice from a financial counselor. Here is not the place.
Agreed!this is why I work with one. My $430k portfolio is well-matched for every market season yielding 85% rise from early last year to date. I and my advsor are working on more figures for this year. IMO, financial advisors are the most sought-after professionals after doctors.

I think it would be better to compare bear vs bull cases on stock evaluations. We should be weary about bias confirmation.
Few NBC videos show people wondering what is AMZN doing with ai. That anthropic is much behind other ai providers
I come here for stock tips and tricks and for financial advice
AMZN is 33% of my portfolio. It’s one of my cornerstone stocks that I will not sell. I see nothing but blue skies for them in the next 3-4 years.
Andrew; consider this AMZN is 3.5% of the S&P 500. Your 33% allocation means you are almost 10X market weighting to this stock. Consequently to the degree to which AMZN outperforms AAPL, MSFT NVDA GOOGL & META. Your portfolio will trounce the market. But the flip side is true.
Wish you the best
AMZN dropped 54% between 2021-2022. Can you afford to lose 18% of your portfolio? If you can stomach it, that is fine. It is all about risks and rewards.
@@kurniawanms2 if a recession hits my whole portfolio is screwed, and some is everyone else’s. But I truly believe between AWS, 3rd party seller, and their ad business, if there is a business to weather the storm, Amazon is it. My other positions are in Costco, Mastercard, Nvidia and PayPal, and Texas Roadhouse. I believe those are strong companies that have the balance sheet to withstand tough times.
WBA had actually pretty good revenue growth.. it’s the Free cash flow with heavy investment in the clinics there investing in
Why don’t you think NIKE would be a good stock for buffet?? Forward P/E to rich?? Just curious on your thoughts there.
Do you think that Google will pay a dividend in 2024?
This was an excellent video, Joseph. Amazon is my favourite company as well. As you mention, they are the leaders in both e-commerce and in cloud computing. Regarding the latter, you also make an important observation that many people miss: Not only is their growth reaccelarating, but a lesser percentage applied to a greater absolute number results in AWS actually making greater gains in dollar value than their competitors.
When analysts make price targets, what is the normal timeframe if there is one?
It's usually 1 year
@Andrewjakes1234dude stop spamming . Even if we all buy Tesla is not going to change the stock price 🤔
Don't follow analyst price targets. They are totally pointless. Sell side ER make commisions by trying to get people to invest in these companies. Growth estimates, sure, they are on the high side but reasonable, but price targets are totally arbitrary.
Cathie always says 5 years and she's always wrong.
I’ll just say buying amazon right now is nothing like buying meta below 200. I would need amazon at 100 before even starting a position. In my opinion.
What is a good entry price for AMZN?
ASAP!
Been considering Google on the dip but leaning Amazon. Can see it outperforming on the yr.
I've been ordering from catalogs all my life, so this digital shopping is new to me. It's near impossible to find a company that still uses catalogs, so I reckon I should start keeping up with the times. Is this "Amazon" a good company? My grand-daughter says they are popular. All you got to do is pick your stuff online and they will ship it to by mail service, and sometimes it's even free. The future surely is an amazing thing, young man. Please keep up the great work.
Welcome to the party!
Wonderful video and reflected opinions, as per usual. I however have to disagree with the „easier to value“ argument to give Amazon a higher value. This only refers to the inability of the investor of accurately valuing a difficult to value business. This does not however have anything to do with the company. For example, a biotech business is more difficult to value than a retail business - does this mean it should be valued at less? I don’t think so. Quality of the business remains the same.
I am curious on what is your take from berkshire annual report. They are 20% in cash and don't seem to find any good opportunities in large cap.
there are many good opportunities in large cap but not in overpriced US stock market. Look at Japan or European stock market. Warren Buffett recently bought lots of Japanese large cap stocks. He spent almost $7 billion buying stocks of 5 Japanese trading firms.
They usually have around 20% cash. It's normal.
I do have AMZN as part of my portfolio. Since starting my direct investment portfolio 1/22, I have 22.03% gains so far..
My average price is $100. Wish I had purchased more.
and amzn is my largest position too, next is google.

220 is a very easy target to reach imo, just based on rev and in-line FCF growth with no changes

Guys, can anynone explain to me , I have the following quetions
1) Is it normal for my fractional shares held by the broker as a custodian through a sub custodian or nominee when the broker acts on principal capacity? Any associated risks?
2) Fractional transactions entered into by the client with (my online broker) could result in a loss to the client and a gain to the broker. How would you interpret this term? Any associated risks? Thanks in advance..
My problem is not to select Amazon, S&P, Copart or Alpha Metalurgical Resources. My problem is to choose the right position size. I would love to see a video from you how to „hack“ my mindset as your position sizes are great in my opinion.
You just missed the biggest one of them all bro NVDA.

He's mentioned them before
I can't wait for that stock to get shot out of the sky. It's just the AI bubble
I've owned NVDA for over 8 years. It's been up and down, but I believe in Jensen Huang and will stick with NVDA until Jensen says otherwise. I know that sounds crazy, but when the financial statements/Jensen, (same to me) tell me to sell, I will. I'm sure I won't sell at the top, but that's OK.

Damn these finance yt comment bots. Really feels like they're getting smarter, like they're actually talking about amazon and not just saying generic things about supposedly high value portfolios and fake financial advisors. The dead internt theory just keeps growing on me every day I log on.

The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

Google is a better buy than Amazon right now imo
I appreciate the analysis, but I know there are better opportunities. I don't know exactly which stocks but I feel there are a few small-cap stocks that are poised to soar. However, (220-176)/176 that's 25%

Bezos sold off huge amount of stock recently
Jeff Bezos is selling. What does he know?
+Still, Jeff Bezos sold billions in this stock.
So?
@-ey9nf Bezos is not the only one. All top Amazon executives are selling thousands of Amazon stocks the last 2 months. No insiders are buying AMZN stocks. Just google it. Look at the list of many executives who sold the stocks. This does not mean that AMZN stock will crash soon. The stock can go even higher now since many social media influencers pump it up. FOMO is real. Just think about it. We are buying AMZN shares now but AMZN top executives are selling thousands of AMZN stocks at the same time. We become their exit liquidity. Look at other CEOs. Zuckerberg sold HALF A BILLION dollars worth of META stocks last 2 months. Sundar Pichai sold 1 million Google shares the last 3 months. Do you think they know that we already hit the peak? Why start selling in large qty now if they know that their stocks will go higher in a few months in this AI mania?
Bezos is not the only one. Lots of Amazon top executives are selling thousands of AMZN stocks. They might know something that we do not? The whole market is overvalued. Zuckerberg just sold HALF A BILLION dollars worth of META stocks last 2 months. Sundar Pichai sold a million shares of GOOGL in 4 months. This does not look promising. If you plan to hold AMZN & GOOGL for 10 years, it does not matter. Just DCA.
😂😂😂keep pumping at the top 😂😂😂
What makes you say this is the top?
